Here's the largest version of the cover art, along with the menus:

The menus are significant because they reveal that this DVD set is officially considered "Volume 1," and also that all three of the audio commentaries by Jerry Beck will be on the same disc.
Hopefully the "sneak peeks" will give us some information on the Top Cat, Looney Tunes Golden Collection 2, and Flintstones Season 2 sets.
(The DVD is also up for pre-order on Amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ISBN=B0002MFGCI/theunofficlooneyA/), too.)

Oh.... now it's called the "Spotlight" Collection, so they can "spotlight" everything but the less-desirable "PC-unfriendly" cartoons. No wonder they wouldn't release them in chronological order as was said they were originally going to.
I'm feeling a little but leery about this one....

Well it's WBHV, what are you gonna do. They probably were so used to putting "Episodes" in the Flintstones, Jetsons, Scooby Doo, and Top Cat discs, that they just kept doing it with this.
No sense in letting a little typo ruin your day though. The art is quite nice. If I'm not mistaken wasn't the original T&J boxart different, more Tom and Jerry Kids-esque? And the art in the menus being inspired by several MGM shorts is a nice touch.

The box art is really nice. It's too bad WBHV couldn't use the same tuxedo-clad characters for the LTGC. I hope the 2nd set has this.
The menus are really nice, too. It's good to see one of the menus is inspired from my favorite T&J cartoon "Mouse Trouble." The features are looking great as well. Can't wait to see the features on the disc.
Have they revealed what cartoons are going to be in the set? The whole amount or at least a few?

Have they revealed what cartoons are going to be in the set? The whole amount or at least a few?The official list of cartoons hasn't been revealed yet. We know that there will be 40 cartoons, including all 13 Acadamy Award winners and nominees (including some of my personal favorites like "Puss Gets the Boot" and "The Night Before Christmas"). And the three cartoons that will have audio commentary with Jerry Beck are "Heavenly Puss," "Kitty Foiled," and "The Zoot Cat". I don't know if there will be anything rare on it, but apparently a few of the cartoons will be in CinemaScope.

For some reason, I'm still not sold on this set. I have high hopes for it, but those high hopes may be the problem. As long as it has 40 uncut shorts on it, I'll buy it, but I'm disapointed that it's not going to be as we were told it would be.
