If anyone cares, there's two blurbs about Justice League Unlimited in TV Guide. The first mention is right on the first page under the Hot List, where they describe the show:

"The world's greatest superhero team celebrates its series' relaunch with a recruitment drive, inviting popular super friends like Green Arrow and Supergirl as well as obscurities(Booster Gold, Captain Atom). What the heck is a Booster Gold, anyway?"

Supergirl is pictured next to the blurb.

The next mention is surprisingly in Michael Logan's soap opera page:

"General Hospital vet Kin Shriner was so thrilled to land his first cartoon voiceover gig that he showed up at the recording studio dressed in character. "Everyone was like, 'Oh, look...he's in costume...how, uh...nice," says Shriner, who will play Green Arrow-a Robin Hoodish superhero-in the new Cartoon Network series Justice League Unlimited(premieres Saturday, 7/31, 8:30 pm/ET). Produced by Warner Bros. Animation, the toon features several legends from the DC comic universe-including Superman, Wonder Woman, Batman and Supergirl-banding together to fight world crime. But the real crime will occur if Shriner doesn't buff up. Green Arrow, you see, is quite the brawny beefcake. And Shriner ain't. "I really need to hit the gym," the actor says. "I don't want to show up at the comic book conventions and have all the kids going, 'That's Green Arrow?'"

The article is accompanied by a photo of Shriner and his animated counterpart. You want the photos? Buy the magazine, cause using my scanner is too complicated.

I can't decide if Kin Shriner is impeccably cool or despondently lame.

I saw them too. By the way, has anyone noticed how completely and utterly TV Guide's new format sucks? They used to give you the listings for 24 hours a day but now they're cut off at like 2 AM. And they use daytime grids for the whole week so if a network like Sci-Fi or Comedy Central chooses to air different show on different days it says "Various Programs." VARIOUS PROGRAMS? I could have told you that myself! Now give me $2.50!

The Movie Guide is also messed up since it's now organized by genre, making it impossible to find the movie you want since movies nowadays go by multiple genres at once.

I'd stop buying it, but I have a subscription.

Actually, considering Ollie Queen's quirks, this might be considered an example of method acting.

"...What the heck is a Booster Gold, anyway?"
I'm sure they said the same about Martian Manhunter, Green Lantern, and Hawkgirl when Justice League launched. Reach outside of Superman and Batman and suddenly the press is "OH MAN!! SO CONFUSING!! NEW HEROES HURT OUR BRAINS!! CLEARLY ONLY TWO SUPERHEROES EXIST, BATMAN AND SUPERMAN!! OUR WORLD HAS BEEN TURNED UPSIDEDOWN!"

You could always write a letter. Yeah, I agree the movie listings suck. I haven't noticed the regular listings though. I usually use tvguide.com to find listings. I'd use the tvguide channel too, but my crappy cable company doesn't get it. That was my favorite channel!

I saw that first article right away, but I usually lose interest once I hit the black & white pages, so I missed the second one.
As for TV Guide's new format, I have digital cable so I really only have it for the magazine section. But that sounds, uh, su><ors ?

Is this in the current issue, or the one for next week? I thumbed through a copy on the news stand but no dice.

It's the July 25-31 issue. It's the "special reality TV cheers and jeers issue". They recently changed their listings from starting on Saturday to starting on Sunday because people changed their shopping habits or something, and they mentioned that it might take a while for newstands to get in tune with their new schedule. So, I'm not sure when the new TV Guide will hit newstands...

The TV Guide staff probably aren't into comics, which might explain their unfamiliarity with characters like Booster and Capt. Atom. Still, TV Guide likes JL, so it's OK with me. Speaking of which, unless I missed something, I'm surprised they never mentioned anything about "Starcrossed."

They actually changed their newstand and store shipping too. Now it comes out on Thursday in most areas and Friday in quite a few. Only subscribers get the mag at the same time they used to.

I'm not faulting them. Even your average comics reader doubtedly has any idea who Booster Gold or Captain Atom are.
