I noticed that, too. I hope it's only as long as this "Geoffrey's Birthday" ad campaign goes on, because it's quite a stupid change.
Deep down, though, I fear this is only the beginning, as Toys R Us takes another step to try so hard to look and feel like FAO Schwarz.

Actually, it's a little bit of a retro look, from when they firrt started using the giraffe as the corporate symbol back in the late 1960s.
Now, if they change the name of the store back to "Children's Bargain Town" then they're really gone off the deep end...

Whether or not he's animated or computer-generated, "Geoffrey" the giraffe is annoying...period!

I know, which is why I hope it only lasts for this birthday campaign thing. It's just too weird visually.
