View Full Version : "As friends, as neighbors, as family"
Thats what Canada said about standing with America in the time of need. I know theres a ton of posts, but I thought that was cool, and theres a ton of canadians on these boards as well as running them, not mentioning any names (Dick Grayson :) ) and I just thought, as an American, Id say good on ya, and thanks. :D

No problemo. I ma really glad that Canada is deeply involved in this. There is nothing I want more than for Canada to be just a sinvolved in this as well. The US is a huge part of our lives and we're gonna stand by ya as long as you need us.

A week ago I read a press release from a Canadian reporter about the world's response to the events of Sept. 11. His remarks were ones of support and he condemned any nation that would thumb their noses at us. He said that we would undoubtedly survive, with or without help from others. I've heard all of this stuff before, but it was different this time...
I couldn't figure out why his words were so moving--I'm a very cynical person--until I realized that I found meaning in them for the simple fact that it was a Canadian wrote them. It wasn't another U.S. propaganda piece or an ad for selling a car or an airline ticket. It was genuine, heartfelt concern.
I feel that we need that kind of outside support every once and a while...as an American it's so hard to think outside of our borders and remember that we really aren't alone.
Thank you all for your support.
