The RAW stars are coming off of Vengeance (http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?t=116111) 24 hours ago on pay-per-view. Chris Benoit and La Résistance retained their championships against Triple H and Ric Flair & Eugene, but Randy Orton's much-hyped Intercontinetal Title reign is over. The Legend Killer lost to Edge last night. The action is already underway...

LOOK OUT, EUGENE
July 12, 2004
Judging by the look on Triple H's face after losing his match against Chris Benoit at Vengeance, Monday night may not be a good one for honorary Evolution member Eugene. Just prior to the Game's loss, he was inadvertently hit with a steel chair by Eugene. Undoubtedly, Triple H will be looking for somebody to blame for the loss, chances are that person will be Eugene.
WWE.com has just learned that the Highlight Reel returns to Monday Night RAW tonight with two huge guests. Y2J will welcome Lita and the potential father of her baby, Kane.
Speaking of Kane, Matt Hardy pulled off the biggest single's pay-per-view victory of his career, pinning the mighty monster. After the match, Hardy told Lita that he had to figure some things out and that she should stay far away from him while he does this. Will Lita listen to Matt? Or will she once again attempt to reconcile with her man? Find out on Monday Night RAW.
Edge regained Intercontinental glory on Sunday night, pinning Randy Orton to capture the title. Where does the new Intercontinental Champion go from here? He tries to keep good on his word is where. On RAW, the new Intercontinental Champion will continue his battle against Evolution when he takes on Batista. Will the big man be Edge's next victim? Find out on RAW.
Watch Monday Night RAW at 9/8 CT on Spike TV to find out.

Okay i'll admit it now Lita's acting aint that great but compared to the first two Diva Search contestants Lawler talked to who said they were actresses Lita sounded alot better than them

This was the best Raw I've seen in a long time. With the sole exception of the Diva Search segments, everything was great. Even Lita didn't make me want to puke tonight.

Wheee! Raw is War was entertaining! Loved the matches. I only hated the diva segmnets. They are so fake! Did anyone notice that the first diva got all the attention from the crowd and the other two just bombed. Okay, maybe because it was what she was wearing...or not...
I love Eugene and how he plays his character! I sort of felt bad for him for getting beaten up by Evolution last night but I was glad he did. Now, the real fun begins when Eugene beats up his favorite wrestler in the future. I so hope he does!
Lita was actually decent last night. Like the rest of you said. she didn't want to make me throw up or cringe at her acting...only Trish does that to me.
Anywho, enjoyed last night's show.

Last night is just another example of why I'm not a big fan of wrestling anymore. It's the same stupid *&^% every night, the ridiculous obsession with (fake, no less) T&A and the whole "HHH and whatever jackasses he's aligned with now rush out at the end of the show and beat somebodies ass to a bloody pulp and it always ends up the same way and noone ever comes out to help", among other things but those are the two that immediately spring to mind. Ugh. It's a shame, there's so much potential there, but McMahon and all the other stooges who make the decisions wouldn't know good story telling if it bit 'em in the ass. The matches aren't too bad, though, but they could be so much better, too, if they would ditch the same repetitive, predictable crap. But, nevertheless, I can't say I wasn't entertained last night, but then I usually do enjoy while I'm watching, not very much, but I enjoy it. It's afterward (sometimes during) when I think about it and realize how stupid this or that was.

RAW had a lot of matches last night, but that alone doesn't make for a great show. A lot of people made it onto the show, but for some reason Matt Hardy was missing. I can't wait for this Diva Search stuff to be over with and for the first time in a while I'm actually looking forward to this week's SmackDown!
Edge versus Batista was an okay match, but I didn't like the ending. I don't see why the Intercontinental Champion can't beat Batista cleanly. The timing of the commercial break was really poorly timed. A lot of action was going on during the break, but luckily we came back just in time for a long rest hold.
The match between Rhyno and Conway was pretty good for what it was. Rhyno really seemed to have a lot of energy in this match. Rhyno and Tajiri don't seem to have much in common, but I'm not going to complain if this tag team is able to keep them on TV.
Tomko and Maven didn't put on much of a match. There were a few good spots, but it just didn't seem to flow very well. It seemed like just a way to keep the story between Trish and Nidia going.
The Highlight Reel was a pretty good segment. Lita's acting was a lot better this week.
Kane and Jericho put on a good match, and I did like the finish of this one. Both men took a loss at Vengeance, so Kane being disqualified was probably the best ending. The crowd really popped for that double chokeslam at the end.
I didn't care for the match between Flair and Hurricane. I can deal with The Nature Boy in tag matches, but I don't like seeing him defeating younger talent just because he's a legend. I guess he needed the win to sell a couple more books.
The main event between Benoit and Eugene was okay, but I'm really starting to get tired of Eugene. At the end we saw the Evolution beat down that we've already seen so many times before. I'm glad that they at least had the sense to send down Regal to try to save Eugene, but where was Edge? If he's so tired of Evolution dominating RAW, why didn't he run in, too?

I guess he needed the win to sell a couple more books. I'm just glad Hurricane was able to be in a match without Rosey for once. That whole gimmick has become dead weight. When it first started I was waiting for Rosey to become a "super villian", but that never happened. It was a fairly entertaining match anyway, so I'm glad for that.

I was thinking the same thing. It made no sense . It was interesting that Edge had to cheat to win. Usually, the face champions don't do that. Plus, it makes Batista actually look like a credible contender for a title shot against Edge, which is more than Orton could ever do in his six month reign.
And I said weeks ago that I was tired of the Eugene gimmick, but it looked like it peaked for the audience last night, who seemed dead throughout the entire match against Benoit. Hopefully, this will only go on for a couple more weeks with "Eugene's Revenge" even if he seems to be too popular a character to just ax right away.
And I'm so tired of the evil GM gimmick (both on RAW and Smackdown).

I think it's gotten to the point where something as simple as using the ropes or pulling tights is a clean win.

Evolution was not happy after having probably the worst pay-per-view since the formation of the group. It was certainly a far cry from Armageddon when all four men were champions. Eugene looked like a lost little puppy in there as he tried to tell Triple H and company he was sorry.
Things did not go well for Orton when he tried to help Batista against Edge. That was about the quickest ejection I’ve ever seen. :D I was a little surprised that Edge used the ropes to beat the big man, but as the late great Gorilla Monsoon would say, “what’s good for the goose is good for the gander.”
Ugh, meeting three members of the RAW Divas Search. I’ll cover all three now because I don’t want to mar my comments with more on them later. Watching Lawler talking to three of them I became disgusted with this contest as a whole for the first time. Sure, I found the search segments annoying, but now I hate the entire concept of the contest. Rumors on the Internet aren’t always correct, but I read one the other day that many of the other Divas are upset at this contest because the contract offered is almost twice what most of theirs are. I don’t think much would have been taken away if it was the $100,000 Diva Search. Then having King bringing out a bunch of women with the “model/actress” title I started to really not like it. Let’s look at the three Divas a moment…
Candice Michelle Okay this “model/actress” is a dancer in Dodgeball (http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?t=114294), will be competing in the Lingerie Bowl next year and can touch her tongue to her nose? What on earth is WWE going to use her for? And if case you haven’t seen Dodgeball (you’re missing out) the dancers are nearly as inconsequential as the extras in the audience.
Nina Hardin I’m sorry, we already have a Linda Miles. I was happy to hear the crowd boo her. Although I guess I don’t know many girls who can not only make their own clothes, but can also dance like a stripper. And she’s a model/actress to boot.
Carmella Decesare Now this girl is the 2004 Playmate of the Year. I actually didn’t mind her as much as the other two. I have no doubt she also has “model/actress” aspirations, but something about her made me okay with her.
Back to the real show…
Flair was having a pretty entertaining rant about Eugene when The Hurricane made his appearance. After the Nature Boy refused to sign his book and then insulted Gregory Helms I liked how Hurricane went after Flair. He even said Chyna wrote a pretty good book! :D
Yep, I still love that ‘summer games’ SummerSlam commercial.
Seeing Rhyno & Tajiri making their way towards becoming a full tag team I just hope they get a chance to really establish themselves before they try to put the Tag Team Championship on them. La Résistance had a month or more of vignettes and then two months before the Titles were put on Grenier & Duprée and Rhyno & Tajiri need more than the ‘ECW connection.’
Well I guess I already knew Nidia was ‘sexy’ but if you didn’t know that you could have just read her shirt last night. :p
Why Tyson Tomko is beating guys like Val Venis and Maven?! I know “the guy is a waste of space” isn’t a good enough argument, but where do they expect to take him? He is supposed to just be the second for Christian & Trish. And what is with the big boot finisher? I actually like Test, but the last thing we need is another Test.
Nice to see that Regal is still trying to look out for young Master Eugene. I hope that the two come back together after the events of this week’s show.
I was happy to see Chris Jericho gloat about his big win in musical chairs last week. It will be distinction he carries for the rest of his career. :) And I can think of no better place to resolve personal problems than the Highlight Reel. ;)
A lot of folks complain about Lita’s acting, but I was really impressed with her on Monday. She was mad at Kane and knew even he couldn’t bring himself to do anything about it. Even the toughest of people crack under the pressure eventually and Kane is already a monster.
As soon as I saw Jericho in his wrestling gear I figured he was going to end up in a match by the time the Highlight Reel was over and that was indeed the case. Kane never should have touched the JeriTron 5000. Y2J insulted him hardcore. The double chokeslam on Jericho and referee Chris Kay was also hardcore and cool to see.
I like the Eugene & Regal SummerSlam commercial too.
I was disappointed to see Flair beat The Hurricane, but it’s not like I didn’t expect it. Even so, it was great seeing Hurricane get to be in the ring with the legend. :)
I honestly wasn’t expecting Evolution to beat down Eugene after he ran around the ring with the title. After the way HHH has been using him the past couple weeks I was hoping that eventually Eugene would overhear The Game talking about kicking him to the curb and then extract his revenge at a time when H3 thought the special superstar had his back. Ah well, now Eugene can work his way back to full “good guy” status I suppose.

I'm glad Eugene finally got beaten up really bad by Evolution. It was inevitable, and their past "betrayals" have been kinda lame and didn't make much of an impact. Hopefully this is what everything was leading up to.
I didn't care for the match between Flair and Hurricane. I can deal with The Nature Boy in tag matches, but I don't like seeing him defeating younger talent just because he's a legend. I guess he needed the win to sell a couple more books.
Oh yes, Ric Flair needed to defeat THE HURRICANE to sell more books.
I'm hoping the purpose of that confrontation was to knock some sense into The Hurricane and make him drop the stupid gimmick.
She didn't bother you as much? Is it because she takes her clothes off? :D I hated all three ladies.I can't speak for the Penguin, but that factor doesn't hurt her in my book and can only help. :D She's my favorite so far.

This is the most matches we've seen on Raw in a long time. A whopping grand total of six. =P
Raw was alright. A decent Edge/Batista opener, a suprisingly good Hi-light reel and a entertaining main event (requsite post-match HHH beatdown aside).
The Diva search didn't do anything to endear me, though it wasn't awful. Tompko/Maven match was a mess, Rhyno/Conway was good but short (but at least we're seeing Rhyno and Tajiri go after some gold). Didn't see much point for Jericho/Kane again. Flair/Hurricane was decent, but poor Gregory Helms was jobbed out again.

Men...I bet you were all drooling at her *ahem* puppies...then again Candice Michelle was practically all naked on RAW. So why not like her than the playmate of 2004? Everyone cheered the fisrt one but not that much for the second chick and last as I recall.
