Last episode till The Gathering.
Gargoyles "Future Tense"
The World Tour ends as Goliath and friends find themselves finally back in New York... Which is now ruled by Xanatos with an iron fist. A lot of time has passed since they left and things couldn't be worse. Will Goliath use the Pheonix Gate to change things? Or is time unalterable?
Remember, if the episode has aired on ABC Family, it's fair game. If not SPOILER BOXES!!!
Comments? Come on, it's a biggie...

Hope you paid good attention to detail when watching this episode.
Some of the events in Goliath's dream will occur in future episode, in some fashion. Hence the line: "Is it a dream or a prophesy?

Hm...
Easily the best of the World Tour, but that's not saying much at all.

Good end to the mediocre World Tour arc. It was almost too dark for its own good, with characters being killed left and right and the survivors suffering big time, but it was still a powerful episode. Liked Puck's big moment at the end and seeing Demona on the side of the angels once again (plus, her future self's outfit was spiffy).

Jebus! I can't remember what. What are you referring to? (Spoiler Boxes please.)
1. The destruction of the clocktower. Hunter's Moon Part 2-3
2. Xanatos having a son by the name of Alexander Fox. The Gathering Part 1
3. Demona's character design in Gargoyles 2198 would be a dead on for her Future Tense Counterpart.
4. The Clone Wars and Thailog's apparent death in it. The Reckoning
5. If the show continued under Greg's direction we would have an Ultra-Pack. It's formed by Coyote 6.0, lead by Coyote 7.0. Members are Coyote 7.0, Jackal, Hyena, Wolf and a brand new character.
6. Brooklyn would be on his journey in time for 40 years, the same amount of time Goliath was gone from New York. He would resemble his Future Tense counterpart with the addition of a scar.

damn, my favorite World Tour episode and I missed it! Still I've seen it enough, still I'll post my thoughts anyway
Next Episode we meet Alexander, and let's just say there's more to his bloodline than meets the eye...let's just say there's a reason Anastasia Renard's voice sounds like someone else on the show we just met....meanwhile is it just me or would a "future tense" sub-line have rocked? I mean look at Lexington, I mean was that cool when he went "Facehugger" on Goliath or what? and for the record Brooklyn also gets a mate, hatchlings and a gargoyle beast of his own during his 40 year journey, let's just say it gets interesting

4. The Clone Wars and Thailog's apparent death in it. The Reckoning
Interesting. I never thought about that one.
One of Gargoyles highlight episodes, in my opinion. Brookyn's reaction is just classic. I love the way each of their future selves were handled. Also, one of the better animated episodes. I can't recall one scene where their designs were off in the slightest. I could just look at this episode all day and marvel at the animation.
And shogunthethird:
Yeah, the Facehugger bit was nice. But what's a "sub-line?" And, oh, by the way, when I was young and gullible, I actually cried when Broadway died. :( Still touches me.
Anyways, see you later. Or rather, earlier.... Deslagraté moray tempe et intervalia!

Sub-lines are a series of toys under another toyline, an example of this would be Transmetals and Fuzors in Beast Wars or the just plain godawful "Hardwired" Gargoyles figures (athough they did make a great Coldstone figure and Hardwired Lex did bear a subtle resemblance to Future Tense Lex)

Also, one of the better animated episodes. I can't recall one scene where their designs were off in the slightest. I could just look at this episode all day and marvel at the animation. It is so easy to differentiate the quality of the animation from the various animation studios they used for Gargoyles. The animation and the pencilling has been great if they were down by Nakamura. The other animation studios are less consistent.

Hi, first-time poster here, but I've been reading the forums for a few days now and let me just say that I'm very happy the show is getting new viewers and that most of them are enjoying it. It's so rare to come across someone who's watching Gargoyles for the first time!
As for Future Tense, this is definitely one of my favorite episodes. The animation is simply stunning and the story is powerful in every aspect. I remember being a nervous wreck when I watched this episode for the first time all those years ago. Even in Spanish, it was still so... wow!
Five stars. :D

I think the constant death was nessesary-Puck needed tragedy after tragedy to keep pushing Goliath to the edge-culminating in the betrayal by Lex. Goliath did fall for it, Puck screwed up by pushing him to far-if he had the strength to hand it over to Eliza, Puck would have won. I loved how the different attempts to get Goliath to fork over the gate were in tandum with an acompanying death.
And the animation rocked, especially during the Alex and David Xanatos battle.
Next week: Return to (the real) New York, and the return of a certain evil Gargoyle couple.

Wow, I always heard about Goliath getting rid of the Phoenix Gate but I never actually saw the episode, and I thought I had seen all of the World Tour arch. Anyway I thought this was an excellent episode. Did anybody else find it interesting that Puck chose Lexington as the traitor? If anyone was to be a traitor though he does seem the most likely. Broadway is much to "stupid" to something like that, Hudson is too old and while Brooklyn is rebellious, he's much to loyal to Goliath for that. Lex was always the most unconnected to everybody else.

Owen was the voice at the beginning of the episode when they first reached Xanatopia (New York) His voice is projected to the skiff-riders telling them they aren't supposed to be there, and it summons the Xanatos-bots.
This is one of my all time fave eps, but I'm gonna type up a full review later.

What can I say... I'm a sucker for post-apocalyptic future eppisodes. And this one didn't disapoint! Couldn't believe Disney let them get away with that many 'deaths.' On-screen deaths, even. And I second the praise for the animation during the Xanatos-Fox fight.

This is one of the best "possible future" types of episodes on TV.
It also was room to one of the best fight scenes in animation history. I mean Disney isn't known to make violent fight scenes much, but the fight between Xanatos and his son was like a very very well-animated episode from Dragonball Z, with a little Gundam Wing thrown into it (Xanatos' double barrel cannon).

Gargoyles is to Future Tense : TNBA is to Over the Edge. Come on, you knew someone was going to make that analogy!
This is my favorite episode of Gargoyles. I love dark stories, and this delivered. Who wasn't shocked when they first saw Broadway, when they saw Brooklyn together with Demona, when they saw the main characters start dropping off like flies?
The action is off the roof in this episode, the emotions ran high, and Lex as the traitor? I wonder what that symbolizes.
I remember after the first time I saw this my friend and I were like "OMGOMGOMGOMG! This is so good! This is the best episode ever! I want them to show this again!"
