i've been confussed about this ever since i saw "batgirl returns" back in the day. in that ep, catwoman leaves a note on a bulleten board outside Barbara's gymnastics class at Gotham State University, adressed to the winged mouse. obviously she had to know barbara's identity if she left it outside her class.
so, whats the deal? does she know who barbara is? we know this was never dealt w/ in tnba and i doubt catwoman knows in tnba, actually, im pretty sure its safe to say she definately doesnt know in tnba. and batgirl returns was one of the last btas eps, so maybe it was just something overlooked? or is there another explaination? anyone know? thanks. peace.
great quote...
"you should have said yes"
"if i did i'd be a rat with wings"
can anyone tell i just watched this ep?? hehe

Thinking logically, Catwoman ran into Batgirl at the University and since she doesn't really know where else Batgirl might go, leaving it at the scene of the crime would probably mean that either the cops or a member of the Bat team would get a hold of it. Either way, she might hear about it. I used "might" because truthfully, I too found it to be a little too conveinient for the writers to just have Babs find it outside her classroom. This doesn't mean, though, that Catwoman knows her identity. If she did, she might have picked up on Batgirl's comment during the bike chase scene ("Oh Daddy, if you could only see your little girl now") and she wouldn't have dissed the Commisionner as a tactic to convince Batgirl to be her partner ("The cops are a joke, especially that senile old fool, Gordon"). I think that leaving the note attached to the Batsignal would have made for a cute Batgirl and Commish. scene, though the University is probably too far away from Downtown Gotham for that to have worked. After all, if the University was close by, then Batman would have been involved.
Hope that helped:)

It's hard to say. I don't think Catwoman knows her identity, but has a fair idea that she's a Univeristy going woman. We've never gotten a definite answer in any of her opinion. Surely it would have been addressed in You Scratch My Back if she did or not. I think that Catwoman knew that Batgirl resided in the Univeristy and staked out the possible locations for Batgirl. Leaving that note outside of Batgirl's class, that could've been an educated guess on Catwoman's part. But it is extremely hard to say. I don't think they know each other's IDs...but we don't have a positive answer.

Catwoman doesn't know who Batgirl is, but I can guarantee that Batgirl knows that Catwoman is Selina Kyle. I think that's it's been in the public record at least since Cat Scratch Fever when she went to trial.

I think that Batgirl must know Catwoman's ID, it must have been common knowledge after Catwoman was arrested and put on trial. And by TNBA, if she didn't already know, Bats would have told her.
I think that we are supposed to assume that Catwoman just figured out that Batgirl would stop by the gym. I think that it is also possible that Catwoman could have left more than one note in various places that she thought that Batgirl would visit.
I think that Batman was out of town during that ep. on business as Bruce so he wouldn't have shown up if the Batsignal was shown. But Catwoman didn't know that, and the Batsignal would also have brought Robin which she wouldn't have liked.

sorry, i dont know how to do that quote thing so i just copied and pasted, anyone feel like explaining how to do it?
that is an excellent point. hmm, maybe she doesnt know her identity. i guess maybe she was able to figure out that batgirl was a GSU student, and maybe since batgirl is quite acrobatic, she assumed shed be at the gymnastics arena alot. so that could explain it, but it was a bit too convienient.
yeah, also if she knew she would have just slipped the note under barbara's door. well i guess that clears that up.
i thought that was one of the best eps, definately one of catwoman's best appearences in btas. she was in some real need of a villian role in tas. her two eps in tnba were excellent, imo. peace.

At the top of the message box is a line of buttons, including "reply", "edit/delete" "pm" "profile" etc. If you hit the "reply" button there instead of "Post Reply" at the bottom of the box, you'll get the message you're replying to enclosed in quote lines.
The code for quoting is {quote} {/quote}, but replacing [] for {}.
Hope this helps. :)

Yeah, I think DisneyBoy nails it, and you bring it home. Catwoman knows Batgirl is a GSU student, and guesses that the gym is the natural place to find her.

thanks dude. it works, but how do you break it up, like put one part of the quote, write your own thing, then the other. i just deleted the bottom part of yours, and left the bracketed quote thing already there. theres like [/i] things, what do those mean?

Magic. :p
Seriously, though, by just separating out the individual parts of the post you want to quote, and pasting in additional {QUOTE} and {/QUOTE} thingies (what's the technical term for them?) around them. So, for instance, in my edit box this message basically looks like this (with braces {} replacing brackets []):
{QUOTE}{i}Originally posted by DerekPowers {/i}

Magic. :p
Hope that makes sense. :)

{B} says where to start the formatting (in this case bold type); {/B} tells where to end that kind of formatting.
