Has anyone heard of these? Apparently the word "sex" appears in the Lion King and a penis was shown on the original Little Mermaid cover. Pretty funny stuff.

Any of you guys seen this stuff?

IMO, the funniest subliminal thing, and also genuine and not misunderstood, is the nuddy lady in the background of the rescuers. It's also on snopes.

Disney may not be putting this in their movies.
I mean in the lion king you can barly see that and i don't think it was intentional.
I would have never noticed

Yeah, these stories have been floating around since I was in Jr. high. (That's 8 years ago!) Aladdin has one too. I can't say for sure if it's there because I've never heard it until someone told me Aladdin says, "Take off your clothes," so it could be the power of suggestion. But the pope diffently got- uh- excited in the Little Mermaid.

Ever heard those ludicrous tales of Donald's cussing? I thought it was utterly ridiculous whent people "heard" him utter the f-word in a 1930's cartoon.

And then there was his little "racist comment" on Who Framed Roger Rabbit. He said something like "goddarn stubbrn widdle, I'm gonna waaaaaaahh!!" but given Donald's speech impediment poeple thought he said something... unpostable. That one's also on snopes.
Those darn powers of suggestion.

the stuff with roger rabit, like jessica, wouldnt be a big deal to me because wasnt it supposed to be aimedto a little older audience than walt disney pictures itself?

Ya know, as a kid, when I saw this movie in theatres at age 8, I knew fully well what Donald said..."Stupid doggone stubborn little..."...the nefarious "N" word, which I was aware of at the time, never entered my mind once.

Yeah, there's plenty of subliminal messages in Disney films, I'm sure - a number of them are quite infamous (especially the LITTLE MERMAID ones) - but I don't like it when people make something out of nothing, like this specific Roger Rabbit example.

Maybe you don't understand the whole logic of subliminal messages.
These messages can be painted into artwork, scratched into pottery, drawn into magazine ads, and airbrushed into advertisements. These are not at all meant to be seen by the naked eye because they are supposed to grab our subconscious attention, not our conscious attention. Our mind sees it, but our eyes don't. Get what I mean? (I have a book about this, pretty fascinating.)

As an example, one girl painted the word sex into a painting for her art class, but in a way that the naked eye couldn't readily see it (but she knew what she was painting anyway). She got an A on the painting, mainly because she had grabbed the professors subconscious attention and interested him with the word. Maybe this is complicated for some people, but the main idea behind subliminal messages is to be subliminal, so that you really wouldn't notice them. Anyone understanding this?

But really, what are you trying to say?

I remember years ago when my little sister talked about this and I didn't believe her and we looked up some of the stuff and found decent proof. It was funny but ultimately, it's just a legend.

If memory serves, it says "SFX"
