OK, I'll start.

I liked this episode. For the most part, it was consitantly entertaining, and despite featuring Dr. Strange, it was pretty down to earth, and not full of galaxy hopping schenanigans.

I also thought John Vernon was perfect as Dr Strange, the guy who played him in Hulk was damn weird, it was Brain from Tiny Toons, so I couldn't help but think of the damn mouse whenever he spoke :D

Anyone else watch this episode or remember it from a previous viewing?

Didn't know anything about any of the supporting characters/villians in this when I first saw it.......probably about six weeks ago now. Wasn't too bad, the backstory for Strange was interesting and the ending in Dormammu's dimension was fitting.

I really didn't like this episode. I thought some of the dialogue was downright painful mostly whatever spewed out of Dr. Strange's sidekick. Plus the idea of Mary Jane being this mystical powered fighter didn't sit with me. Yes she is under mind control but it seemed so laughable. I'll admit I was actually surprised to see her under the mask when we first see her but then it set in how ridiculous this is.

It was an interesting resolution to the subplot of her father but we never find out exactly why he kidnapped Mary Jane. Then again I haven't seenthis episode in awhile so maybe it's explained for us.

He's handled a bit better in the Semper written The Incredible Hulk episode "Mind over Anti-Matter (http://forums.toonzone.net/showthread.php?t=137021)."

I thought this was an okay episode. Although I'd almost consider it a filler, but there are no real fillers in this series post season 1. It answered the question of what happened to Mary Jane at the end of season 2 and it cameos Madame Web at the end, who becomes a major player in the series.

Dr. Strange is an interesting character. His voice was spot on and much better than his appearance in "The Incredible Hulk" cartoon. I like his powers and his origin was interesting, considering I don't really know much about him. His sidekick, Wong, was also a good addition to Spidey's allies gallery. George Takei provided an excellent voice for him and it was cool to see some martial arts moves in the episode.

I like the villains in this episode, but they should have just stayed in this episode. Dormammu and Baron Mordo really didn't need a follow-up episode. Even if they had a follow-up, it should not have been the two-part "Venom Returns" and "Carnage" arc. Both villains had good voices and designs, but they should have just stayed in this episode and that's it.

It's been a while since I saw this episode, but refresh my memory. What exactly did Dr.Strange do to Mary Jane to get her to realize the truth about her father, what was the lie anyways?

Certainly a weird one to start the season with! Whilst the villains were a little lame, I thought this was an all right episode. I enjoyed Strange's origin sequence too.

I just watched. Definitely not one of the best episodes of the series, but it was interesting to hear George Takei (Sulu from Star Trek) and Edmund Gilbert (Fenton Hardy from The Hardy Boys Nancy Drew Mysteries) as Guest Voice Actors. (Unfortunately, according to IMDB.com, Edmund Gilbert passed away in May 1999, and it seems that he did Dormammu as well as The Mandarin during Season 1 of Iron Man, plus he was also Baloo in TaleSpin.)

I also enjoyed seeing how it set the events with Dormammu in the Venom and Carnage episodes that would be seen later in the season. And, even though Madam Web made a cameo at the end, I don't recall Doctor Strange ever meeting her face-to-face in the series.

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

Ed Gilbert was also the voice of General Hawk in the old GI Joe cartoons of the 1980s.

More interesting when you realize that Anna is voiced by Majel Barrett (Nurse Chapel), thus giving us two TOS cast members.

Also to note is that Dr. Strange is voiced by John Vernon, who's had several comic book roles:
- Iron Man from the 1960s Marvel Super Heroes segments.
- General Thunderbolt Ross from The Incredible Hulk Animated Series.
- Rupert Thorn in Batman The Animated Series and the DTV Mystery of the Batwoman.

Vernon also voiced Namor the Sub-Mariner in the 60s.

There were a few Star Trek actors to make voice appearances on Spider-Man. If you look at the topic for The Vampire Queen, you'll notice that I mention that Nichelle Nichols was the voice of Miriam, the Vampire Queen and Blade's mother.
