View Full Version : MGS3 Snake Eater Conundrum...

Like SoL, it may be a two-sectioned game...
I think I've figured it all out...any time you see a Bandana on Snskes head, it's our clone-alicous guy. Otherwise, the scruffy dude is Big Boss. The scenes with young Ocelot are of Big Boss, and Snake's plot is fighting the army dude with the electric fists (the one who grabs Raiden's crotch while moaning "Kuwabra, Kuwabara...").
There's a major misdirect, with the dialouge of Big Boss and a woman talking about his unwavering loyalty to the goverment is overlayed upon Snake fighting a Silver Sable rip-off.
I'm guessing since "re-live" is the big word in all the trailers, Snake must "relive" Big Bosses original "Snake Eater" mission for some reason.

Well hopefully Snake will be the main character in this game unlike MGS2.
That's an interesting theory. If that's true, I still probably wouldn't mind. Big Boss is definitely better than Raiden.

Its probably going to be a two-parter, but will Solid Snake be in it? I believe he will be in it in some way... Maybe it will flash forward to Outer Heaven, and show how Snake beat BB? Anyways, it will most definitely have new plot elements that add to the overall story, including the Patriots.

Snake has to be in it...there's several scenes of him (bandana is how you can tell), he's the one fighting the Lightening Fist guy (the aforementioned grabber of undercover Raiden's crotch.) There's several scenes of modern tech also. Big Boss is in all the "young Ocelot" scenes and has no bandana.
So I'm guessing their'll be two missions again- one in the 60s, one modern. If the Patriots figure in, it'll probably be in Big Bosses story (changing his unwavering loyalty to America). Maybe we'll see that Big Boss was in the right about Outer Heaven in the NES Metal Gear (he was doing pretty much what his eldest son, Solidus/George Sears, did in SoL.)

I agree about the Patriots being involved in BB story. And I also agree about it being a two-parter. But, the BB part is going to be 2/3 of the game, I'm guessing. Kojima is having fun making us sweat...

Yeah I thought he learned his lesson after the negative reaction to Raiden taking Snake's place in MGS2

Still, BB is an important character fans want to know about, rather than a new pretty boy we've never heard of.
But Snake's part better not be a "Pokemon Snap" rip-off again.

Anyway Snake is just a cool character and I hope his story takes up most of the game.

I heard the Part with Raiden in the video was a joke on Kojimas part but instead of laughter he got gasp.

I wonder how he generally feels about the negative reaction to Raiden. Anyway I can't find Substance, I want more Snake! More Snake dammit!

Snake and bigboss can't be in it at the same time. Kojima said there'd be only one playable character and that there would be no time or setting switches (i.e. you'll be in the jungle area the whole time)

I think bb would be an incredible player to play as. I think he could even be cooler than solid but i am not so sure about that though. imagine how strong bb must have been in his youth if he was able to against snake in metal gear. The idea of there being to parts in the game is realistic.
Like at the beginning bb can get brainwashed by the patriot who get him on their side. And that would explain why big boss created outer haven ( give a more realistic explanation than we know so far) and in the second part solid can go after the patriots who have plans for a more destructive weapon than metal gear rex or something like that. That is my guess on what the story could be.

Big Boss will definitely be better to play as than Snake. He has a whole new set of moves incorporated into him. I bet people will be sayin', "Snake who?" after this game is out.:)

I'm not so sure that I liked SoL's continuation of Snake's story-the end of MGS had enough finality.
