Remember that mid-90s craze with those little cardboard disc and like you had a "slammer" to "punt" them into a ring or something? I remember my prized pog was a Spider-Man one or something and I also remember I didn't have much money so I bought a bunch of Christian ones from the local Christian bookstore. Oh and remember the POG world championship or something?

wow.. That's taking me a back a bit. I remember those. I had like 2 small POG cannisters full with those things.. And I think there was even some mat that you could buy to set up an official ring or something like that.

I probably still have those somewhere in my closet I bet. Too bad it's like a gone fad though.

"Remember Alf? He's back!... in pog form!"

I never bought them, but I still have some that my friends just gave me... being their leftovers, none of them are very cool though.

Yeah I remember them. I spent 20 dollars once on a double slammer. I also bought their own little case with my name on it. I still have it too and all my other pogs that I used to have. Yeah I was a little obssesed with them like Beanie Babies.

Unfortunately I remember them. My little brother had an... incident... with a slammer and his, erm, rear end. Not one of the better memories of my childhood.

I remember. I used to trade them with my friends in grades 4 and 5. I had all the Simpsons POGS minus 1 at one time.

I've still got a whole bunch of them. A few of them are X-Men POGS. Trust me, nothing screams "1990s" like a POG with a picture of Gambit or Cable on it.

POGS... milkcaps. WTF? I never understood that 'craze'. I guess looking back on it it's no surprise how huge Pokemon took off as soon as it hit... I mean fer chrissake, kids were throwing cardboard caps at eachother, pokemon must have looked like salvation to them...

In the middle of the pog frenzy, I travelled to Fort Collins, Colorado, to see visit a friend. A few days into the trip, I commented to her that I thought it was odd that, unlike California, there weren't signs in every single store and fast food place trying to lure people in with the promise of pogs.

She said, "Pogs? What are pogs?"

I cried tears of joy that day, and tears of sadness the day I had to return home.

I remember POGs. They were so awesome when I was in like 3rd grade. They actually banned them from my school because too many kids lost pogs and had fights over them. They saw it as a sort of gambling and decided to do away with them.

I remember I never liked them, but they were basically passing them out at camp, so I fiigured, "what the heck?" I still disliked them, but I did use some of them for character references when drawing Lion King, way back when. Never did get the details on the game that you were supposed to play with them.

That was an embarrasing chapter of my life that I don't want to talk about.

I remember when Apollo 13 came out, and Hardee's (I think) was giving out pogs and a pog holder that looked like a Saturn V rocket. Man, I wish I still had that thing. I think I might still have one or two of the pogs.

I remember them I liked the various pictures on them. I don't think I ever learned to play or whatever you were supposed to do with them. We just threw them at each other.

I was in the possesion of quite a few pogs back in the day.

I never really had much of an idea of how to use them, so they all got flushed down the toilet.

Yea, I remember pogs. I used to have a modest collection, I wasn't really into the game (I didnt even know how to play :D ), but I liked collecting them, I had alot of Simpsons, DC, and Marvel pogs. Lord knows where they are now, probly in a landfill or recycled into paper or something.

Yup. I've probably still got a few kicking around in some of my junk boxes somewhere. What are slammers? (I wasn't into pogs, I just happened across a few somehow or other...)

I just went through my old stuff, and I actually found my old pogs, all nicely containted with the mat and all. I wonder if they'll ever make some sort of comeback...

MAN! Pogs were an amazing thing.

I remember, I had so many.... something like over a thousand of them things.... many pog tubes full. And some freakin' giant metal slammers and the ultraleet Power Rangers slammers.

I hope they make a come back some day.
And I wish I still had my collection. =(

I think pogs were the only fad I ever jumped in to. I bet VH1 brings them back for a month.

VH1 will certainly be talking about POGs on I love the 90s.
I loved POGS. They were awesome [back then]. I even had a POGs maker-kit. Wonder where all me POGS went.....

It's really weird how a carboard disc got so popular....

Pogs were all the rage in elementary schools. I remember the "OJ Slammers" that had OJ behind bars on one of them. Oh boy, that was witty. There were also these pog-makers you could buy, you peel off the top of the pogs and then put picture of what you want to make a pog on top of it. Then you push down on the level and it cuts out the picture in a perfect circle. I always wanted one of those...

Who the hell thought of pogs, and how did these things become popular? ^^;

Ah, POGs. I remember them. They were all the rage back in 8th grade. I didn't have too many, but I played once in a while (I'd lose more often than I'd win, though). It didn't last for too long, though. They were soon banned from the school grounds, mainly because older students were scamming younger ones.

I think I have a few buried somewhere in our house.

Yeah my older brother used to collect them all the time.

I remember this funny scene from the Simpsons that had to do with pogs:

"I can't take it anymore! I want my soul back Milhouse!"~Bart
"Sorry Bart, i kinda traded your soul to the comic book guy for ALF pongs. But look, it's ALF! He's back!"~Milhouse
"You traded my soul for pogs?!"~Bart< I found that quote so funny. :D

And there was a scene where Bart decided to blow off of his $500 and he had a choice between a record that Lisa wanted or the ultimate pog. :D
