Here's a reply that I placed on the other board but since it *is* relevant to JLTAS, I'm going to post it here and get peoples thoughts.

Okay, I dont want to encourage the idea of buying comics even if they are bad, but as TAS fans we need to let DC know that there is an audience for these books done right.

I think if the TAS fan based truly pooled their power, we just may be able to get DC to understand that TAS provides a alternative for people who are fans of the characters and the ideas behind them but who are turned off by..well the BS you find in mainline monthly comics where so much dour random and confusing crap is allowed to go on.

I mean seriously, if we have the power to at least irritate the WB into thinking about doing DVDs of the show, then we should be able to do the same for the comic.

and not just demand that they continue to be published, but demand that it NOT BE TREATED AS A THROWAWAY BOOK FOR ANY HALF ASS EDITOR OR WRITER TO JUST PISS OUT MAD MAGICAN STORIES!

I'm open for suggestions. I dont have all the answers. But what I am saying is that needs to be and *can* be done.

We have a true grit alternate fanbase here. Jesus, look what fans of the original Trek were able to accomplish back when nobody wanted to touch Star Trek with a 100 foot pole!

It can be done folks, and this site would be a perfect place to start.

We love the TAS DCU for all the things that it has been able to give us that the mainline comics can't, or more to the point *won't*.

Hey, business works on supply and demand. So lets start demanding!!

I am all for improving the quality of the animated books. But my question is how ??? It's easy to say "Let's demand it" but hard to get any real attention. I understand that we have the power to show the execs that things need to change, but I just don't think enough people really care enough to do anything about it. It was one thing with the whole ROTJ thing, as it was a movie, but a comic book??? I wonder how many people take it as seriously as the show. I really want to see B: GA shine again, but I don't know what to do. Is there anything the moderators can tell us? Should we start a petition, send letters...? Please, if you guys love the animated books....HELP THEM!

For the first time in months and months, I sent a letter to DC proclaiming my dis-satisfaction with their animated titles. How Gotham Adventres is becoming a pale imitaion of itself. How Superman Adventures is being ignored as it loses it's audience on a monthly basis. Cancelling Batman Beyond just as some good writers started appearing on the title. I am really hoping Justice League brings attention back to the titles. All I can recommend is mailing them, emailing them, and letting them know about your dis-satisfaction. A friend of mine who has been reading Batman Adventures since 1992 dropped the title becuase the book just lost his interest. I want DC to recognize the not-so-good state these books are in. Justice League does seem to be the last chance for the animated universe.

These are great titles for those confused and turne doff by the massive crossover mainstream titles. These animated titles are the only books I've been subscribed to on a regular basis for the past 9 years. I've dropped and picked up various titles throughout the year, but these books (and any specials, etc....) are the only books I read on a continual basis. I hate seeing them being dragged through the mud.

Sound advice DG. I just hope that enough people do write and let Dc know that things need to change. By the way, who did you address your letters too? The Gotham Adventures team, or someone else?

Okay, we can gather the various posters of this board to write letters via e-mail or snailmail. (I'd say e-mail espcially with all thats going on right now.)

Also, DickGrayson not meaning to impose on you, but would you be willing to perhaps create an online petetion for the books?

Also, Disneyboy does have a good question. Who exactly would be the best person or department to mail our letters to?

The email address goes straight to the Batman comic offices at DC, but I'll search around and see if I can't find some other email addresses. Maybe with some luck I can find some better addresses. As for a petition, give me a couple days to see if I can get some other sites behind the petition. There actually aren't that many animated sites online so it may be difficult, so I'll need a wee bit-o-time!

Thanks Dick.

Every effort will help. Maybe you could even try some of the Superman fan sites that while not exclusively animated sites, support the show as a great renditionof the character.

Maybe even talk to the guy from Superman or Batman Homepage.

I'm for keeping TAS Bat books too, but I have a question for you TerryMcGuniness, do you read any of the mainstream Bat titles?
