It affects just the 11-12 block, with the number of Gargoyles episodes each weekend being hacked from four to one.

Saturdays, eff. 7/17

11:00 -- Gargoyles out, X-Men in
11:30 -- Gargoyles

Sundays, eff. 7/18

11:00 -- Gargoyles out, Best of Power Rangers in
11:30 -- Gargoyles out, Best of Power Rangers in

Hmm. Interesting.

1) With Gargoyles headed into the Season 2 finale, I kinda like that they're not rushing through it.

2) I haven't seen X-Men: TAS for years, so this will be a good refresher for me.

3) Looks like they're not getting rid of BoPR after all, and in a decent timeslot!

I hate inconsistencies. Having the last hour not be a full hour of one show while the rest of block is irks me to no end.

Therefore, I propose the schedule should be this:

7 - Beyblade
7.5 - Medabots
8 - Best of Power Rangers
8.5 - Power Rangers: Dino Thunder
9 - Best of Digimon
9.5 - Digimon Season 4
10 - Shinzo (I NEVER GOT TO SEE IT, DANG IT!)
10.5 - Spider-Man
11 - X-Men: TAS
11.5 - Gargoyles

Hmm. Interesting.

1) With Gargoyles headed into the Season 2 finale, I kinda like that they're not rushing through it.I checked the episode list. There are 13 episodes left. We get four this weekend for one last time. That puts us at .... you guessed it .... The Gathering.

I just hope ABC Fam keeps Gargoyles on the schedule long enough to get to the end of Season 2. If not, it would be the fourth animated series ABCFam has yanked before its conclusion. (Shinzo, Daigunder and Medabots being the others)

(Five if you wanna count Tokyo Pig.....)

If ABC Fam has to yank Gargoyles before it ends it's run, then 'Gathering, Part 2' would be the perfect place to stop. The Gathering 2 Parter is more or less where the biggest bombshell of the series is dropped.

3) Looks like they're not getting rid of BoPR after all, and in a decent timeslot!Don't get your hopes up. Just because they gave BoPR another timeslot doesn't mean that it won't be cancelled come fall.

hey if they cut it at the end of season 2 that's fine with me (although I was looking to see Knuxfive squirm when he beheld the horror that was TGC) I'm still pissed about those two cut WT episodes (call me crazy but I got a thing for villain redemption, plus it gave Dingo some much-needed character development)

I haven't seen TGC either. I lost track after Disney Afternoon fell apart.

Wait, they skipped two WT episodes? I need to check this forum more...

I'm glad BoPR gets more timeslots. A wiser move on Disney's part than letting over 3 quarters of the series simply rot.

Yes, X-Men! Another nice move on Disney's part! I never got the chance back in the day to watch the original animated series.

Good time to cut back on Gargoyles. I love the series, but since most fans hate TGC, I'm guessing one episode a week of it will be enough. Plus, it'll give me time to catch up on the series (thanks, Toon Disney!).

Betcha I'd enjoy The Goliath Chronicles more than World Tour...

Anyways, last episode I saw of Best of Power Rangers was Justin's birthday... which led to the most wrongly funny line uttered by the twit.

Justin- It's my birthday, and nobody cares!

... well, true, nobody does give a damn about you.

... ya know, if this means they get to Chase Into Space/From Out Of Nowhere sooner for Willie C. to watch, I'm all up for it.

I'd might take that bet. Tucsoncoyote would probably take you up on that bet.

Anyway, right now, I'm to the point where all I want from Disney is the first two seasons of Gargoyles uncut on DVD Boxsets. Disney can then go bankrupt as far as I'm concerned.

Well, I think everyone can agree to this...

Jetix getting to The Goliath Chronicles faster < Jetix getting to Power Rangers in Space faster.

Space easily kills all the bad taste of Turbo that came before it's finalé, what with the return of Adam, the Ninja Turtles, the Alien Rangers, the Gold Ranger...

I could easily make some crack about Power Rangers killing Gargs again but 1. Gargs is still running and 2. I don't hear anything about Power Rangers season box sets coming out, do you? (although given a few years I can probably see it)

I'm still miffed about the Daigunder cancellation. I was just starting to get into that show and, before I knew what happened, ABCFamily pulled it out of the lineup.

Do we have confirmation that the X-Men series we're getting is the 90s animated series? Of course, it wouldn't make sense to start Evolution again... not on ABC, anyway. But I just want to be sure.

...and it looks like the ABCFamily site isn't really updated often. The July 17 schedule still lists both parts of The Gathering airing at 11AM.

...and it looks like the ABCFamily site isn't really updated often. The July 17 schedule still lists both parts of The Gathering airing at 11AM.Not really the best place to go for accuracy and/or timeliness. The ABCFam site's listings come straight from Zap2It.com. ABCFam has no hands-on control over what is shown. When Zap gets around to updating info, then ABCFam.com will be as well.

Excite.com's listings seem to be the ones with the most timely updating.

that's kind of a stupid move, I mean Rhino didn't start with Transformers Armada DVDs/box sets and work their way backwards to G1 now, did they?

Considering the Ninja Turtles were from that awful, awful, AWFUL Next Generation (that even the creator has banished from memory), that's not exactly a high point.

that's kind of a stupid move, I mean Rhino didn't start with Transformers Armada DVDs/box sets and work their way backwards to G1 now, did they?
Of course, then we'd get RiD on DVD, as well as Headmasters and all those other Japan-only releases...

While I'm not exactly enthused to get Ninja Storm before the Ninja Rangers, I'll still sure as hell buy 'em.

I can live with once a week since World Tour will end this week (with the best location of all...the future!). The rest of the series is full quality (too bad they skipped Fox's mother and Dingo turning good that one week.

Wow.. talk about cutting down on your Gargoyle intake..

I'm glad they're bringing back X-men, and at a pretty good time. Never thought I'd see X-men and Gargoyles sharing an hour.. An interesting pairing.

Meh. Like every modern DCAU box set (I still haven't found Batman yet), I feel compelled to buy every season to fully support it.

... dunno if I'll buy a Gargoyles set though...

This is a nice change, actually. I like that X-Men '94 is back in the lineup, and I especially like the fact that Best of Power Rangers is making one last summer stand at a good timeslot. And, since we're getting close to "The Goliath Chronicles" it makes sense to cut down the Gargoyles slot to one a week.

You know, I bet, as usual, "The Best of Power Rangers" will be random episodes, rather than, say, the best of Power Rangers.

DANG IT!

Why does ABC Family ALWAYS start with Night of the Sentinels? There are a TON of later episodes they NEVER aired. Will I ever get the entire series on tape?

And Gargoyles at a half hour a week? WHY did they have to split up The Gathering?! The episode works better when you see it all at once!

And Knux, I prefered Goliath Chronicles WAY more than World Tour eps like Golem, Heritage, Mark of the Panther, Cloud Fathers, Monsters, and The Hound of Ulster. The World Tour was a great idea but it would have worked better if it were shorter. Fortunately, we are almost at the 1-2-3 punch of Ill Met By Moonlight, Future Tense, and The Gathering. Your jaw will drop.

If it was truly the "Best" of Power Rangers, you think we'd be in Turbo?

And how are they playing random episodes? I thought they were playing the episodes in order...

They are playing the episodes in order, they're just not showing all of them. I think what ClockStomper meant was that the episodes are not really the "best" episodes, but just whatever random ones they feel like airing.

Regardless, it seems that the real "Best of Power Rangers" will be airing on Sundays from 11:00am - 12:00pm. July 18 is "White Light" 1 & 2, and July 25 is "Countdown to Destruction" 1 & 2. Who can argue about these being some of the best episodes?

Definitely. Anyone who has any interest whatsoever in Power Rangers, and even those who don't, should watch "Countdown to Destruction". It really is one of the best episodes of all time, if not the best. It brings together and closes out the first six seasons of Power Rangers.

"White Light" isn't half bad either. It would easily be among the favorite episodes of a lot of the fans too.

White Light isn't as much as a classic to me... maybe because I knew it was Tommy beforehand (I got a promo Barcode Battler card saying such). Plus, heck... who ELSE was it gonna be? Curtis or Richie?

Heh. Yeah, it was pretty obvious. I guess just the excitement of the fact that Tommy was returning was what made it so good. Not so much the suspense of who it would be. Still, it is a pretty dramatic episode, especially in the command center when they are introducing him.

Really, BoPR should contain (apparently, order doesn't matter, since they're jumping from season 2 to 6), with thinking of two-parters...

Countdown to Destruction, Chase Into Space, From Out of Nowhere, Island of Illusion, The Green Candle, Doomsday, Wild West Rangers, A Ranger Catastrophe, Alien Rangers of Aquitar, Hogday Afternoon, A Zeo Beginning, Passing The Torch, Dark Specter's Revenge, Quasar Quest, The Lost Galactabeasts, Trakeena's Revenge, The Fate of Lightspeed, Force From The Future, Clash for Control, Movie Madness, Reinforcements From The Future, The End of the Power Rangers, The Storm Before The Calm, Day of the Dino...

Zedd
07-11-2004, 02:06 AM
Those are all great episodes. I would probably add to that "The Power Transfer".

There are so many really good episodes, but lots of them are more than two parts. Just to name a few, "Green With Evil," "The Mutiny," "The Wedding," "Return of the Green Ranger," "Ninja Quest"... Of course, GWE is five parts, NQ is four parts, and the rest are three parts. But I would expect that the two-parters would have a much better chance of airing during this new block anyway.

Turns out it's "Power Rangers Power Pick", and people going to Jetix.TV get to pick what airs.

Zedd
07-11-2004, 03:32 PM
Well, that's an interesting turn of events. It will be very interesting to see what epidodes all get picked. So far, the same ones on "The Best of Power Rangers: The Ultimate Rangers" DVD. The Jetix Kids Cup will pre-empt the 11:00am airing on August 1. This would be a good opportunity to show a one-part episode.

"Power Rangers Power Pick" - PRPP - Same abbreviation as "Power Rangers Power Playback" on Fox Kids.

It certainly will be interesting, to say the least.

The PR series that has always been shafted by Disney is MMAR, the mini-series containing the last of season 3's episodes. They have aired a total of 2 episodes from that mini-series, and that is the final 2 episodes on the season finale special they had back earlier this year. I think those were some of MMPR's highlights, because it had the Rangers as kids searching for the Zeo crystals, and it got the Shogun Zords fully involved. They really should air them.

As for the schedule change, Gargoyles was announced on the Jetix fall schedule, so it must be doing decently to keep it around. I'd just like to see some consistency in the schedule for both weekend days.

The PR series that has always been shafted by Disney is MMAR, the mini-series containing the last of season 3's episodes. It's easily the most forgotten mini-series, what with the two best episodes BEING Hog Day Afternoon.

Now, Hog Day Afternoon Part 2 was epic...
