I lost a Student Council election to a 7th grader just because her older sister, who's in my grade, 8th, and my homeroom, is popular! What injustice! This is my 2nd and final year at this school, and that's how I'm treated. I have more experience at that school, which in my opinion, is a modern version of Termite Terrace (In means of shabby conditions).
No offense to the 7th graders in this board. (Hey, I was one last year!)

That's not fair. It shouldn't be based on popularity, specially not a popular SCRUB!!! :D

That's the way those things always go. They're always popularity contests.
I never understood why anyone would want to run for that stuff anyways. Extra work and no compensation? Count me out!

That sucks. I go to a school just like that. Funny, we had a wonderful class at my middle school, eighth grade was one of my favorite experiences. I'm a High School senior now, and have been attending the same high school since 9th grade. We have a class that is unusually small, (it's small even for a private school, about 60) and it's rather divided. Seems like the popular folks always seem to get away with more. There are basically two groups at this school, it's popular and unpopular. I'm fairly popular because I have friends that are, but I have other friends too. I just refuse to fit in the mold, I'm my own person I guess. Anyway, I know how you feel, don't let it bother you. As you said, it's your last year there, enjoy it while you can, don't worry about the small stuff like that. By the way, does your school listen to your student council? We have a great student council at mine, but we have some really stubborn administrators, and they always have to butt heads with one another.

I'm also fairly popular, but what are ya gonna do? In the case of my school's conditions, it's about 30 years old. It was originally a Catholic school, but opened as a Gifted and Talented school in 1992. I think it's the smallest public school in my city. The walls haven't been painted in a long while, the classrooms are fairly large, and the ceiling of the auditorium/lunchroom/gym is leaking. There are a few small bumps on the gym floor.
