Hey Crazy8s,

I remember you & I discussing this show last summer on the boards and I'm hoping you can wrack your braisn to answer some questions and help me out! I've been watching reruns of ROYGHNECKS and I'm wondering -- is it Xander or Jenkins who becomes half bug/half man? Not to long back, Jenkins blew a fuse in his mind when mentally assaulting a bug that put him into shock stasis. In the ep I watched last night, Xander got pretty messed up by some firebugs? Is it ones of these events that leads to one of them becoming half bug? I can't remember! I should since I saw the reruns last summer, but it's been a year since I saw that and I'm just picking up the show again now.

and ROUGHNECKS is quickly becoming one of my favorite shows.

I really enjoyed it last year, but thought it was off the air. Where are you finding it? Are there new episodes.

I thought I had seen all the previous eps. but I don't remember what you're talking about. Wish I could help!

There was supposed to be another 40 episodes made for a season 2, but I'm not sure if they ever got made. I'm currently watching the reruns on the Canadian channel TELETOON. They're airing a whole bunch I've never seen before, but I know I missed abit when I watched them last summer.

I've really enjoyed the episodes I've seen also. This is a cartoon that deserves a second season, if I've ever seen one. When I first saw it I thought it would be just cool graphics with a lousy story. But the stories are great.

I totally agree. I caught it by accident and just got hooked. I plan to buy the DVD (the first of 8 I hope) entitled THE PLUTO WARS, which contains the five episode Pluto arc. As for the question, I got my answer last night during an extremely excellent sequence where we see the world through the bug's eyes. I'm hoping SONY will release 7 more DVDs, collecting the first 40 episodes. And since every arc is five episodes, it would would work perfectly!

Xandor mutated into the big bug. Jenkins (one of my favorite characters) came back after his experience with the Brain Bug stronger than ever and with new and improved psychic (and telekenetic) powers.

I don't think Sony made any more episodes. The folks working on the project have gone on to other things, and the animator who was involved with the second season has left Sony altogether. A shame, cos it was a great show.

Thanx, Crazy8s. I knew something was fishy when Xander freeked out and starting walking like a zombie for the bugs. Jenkins is one of my favorite charatcers, and I'm glad he'll be returning soon! Darn shame this series ended.

was one of the most (if not THE most) adult toons to be made for the small screen. It was written and played out without the traditional toon devices (comic foils, cute kids and animals, slapstick humor) and could easily play on prime time as an adult program. The first true animated drama I've seen in western animation.

I agree! Also, this is one of those few animated shows that is MUCH better than the movie. Last's nigth's episode (the 4th episode in the asteroid arc, Rico become Corporal) had me absolutely riveted. I was glued to the screen and could barely budge. This is one of those few series that can just draw me in. Not to many series outside of Batman have been able to do this. When I first saw commercials for this show, I thought it's be a MAX STEEL-esque show. I'm glad I was wrong. In my top 10 of favorite animated shows.
