My bad, was still hidden.

Now up! Promise! :DHAHA! i caught the dictator off guard! one point...HoW! :p

WESTLANDER...
...so, i'm sitting at my desk reading all my issues of ultimate spider-man and checking out toon zone when i see the thread for this asj and i say "self, you should do a pic that involves spidey, and if not him, some other super hero" that idea was a bust because i couldn't think of any super hero that would fit and, wes t., YOU TOTALLY ARE ON THE BALL! iceman was a top choice pick for sketching out "the trouble with summer" poor bobby though. i'm much like him where i can't go out in the sun too much, but he has ice powers and i only have heat vision...

RUNE...
...i absolutely love that line work! i can just hear batman right now..."what's wrong with my legs?!?" :D great job! and i like that red cape, too. it mixes things up a bit

...sheego wears a one piece? crud. umm...nevermind :o the smug look on the evil doctor's face almost looks as if he switched the bottles on purpose. speaking of their faces, you draw some great facial expressions, bud

STARSCREAM...
...ahh, yes. the irony. what gargoyle wouldn't like to stretch out on a hot summers day with a nice beverage and just kick back and relax. too bad they'll have to do it as stone statues though, eh? :D that is some excellent shading you've done there and you set the mood well to make us think that it really is hot and steamy in your drawing

MEKAIRINEK...
...man, if only i could read what is in the upper right hand corner. any way you or sjj could tell us? the characters are just lovely and the expressions are to die for (especially the smug look on the big guy there) but i'm sorry to admit i don't know who the characters are. if i had to guess i'd say peter parker, mary jane watson, and doctor otto octavius...am i right? anyway, great work!

HERO OF WINDS...
...that's up for you guys to decide ;)

Heh, nice summery little collection here:

Westie: this one just speaks volumes, Bobby's expression as he's stuck in the shade while the rest of the gang whoop it up is so deadpan it hurts & the parasol makes for a great finishing touch as does his 'cold' skin colour. Being someone for whom hot weather means instant frazzle myself can I ever feel Icemans' pain :p

StarScream: I love this one to pieces, delicately drawn, beautifully shaded and just spot on in every way. The shading on the shades (you know what I mean) is fantastic, you've really captured the curve of the lens. Definitely my fave of all your great Gargoyle pieces as well as the pic's sentiment being quite true of course :D

Mek: I laughed out loud at this one, the idea of the Doc turning up complete with flippers & coolbox (forgive me if that's not what it is - I'm assuming he's got some cold cans in there) whilst wearing nothing but a grin, flip-flops and rather minimalist swimming trunks just cracks me up. The expressions on the other two are classic, especially MJ with her wide eyes. Lovely linework and colouring/shading makes this feel so summery too. :)

BTW Hero, the wording at the top is telling would be art thieves and bandwidth hijackers to not take Mek's work - presumably to post elsewhere -without first asking permission

Hero: another laugh out loud pic, your style just keeps getting more and more distinctive as well as better and better, you've really found a niche with it. The expression on poor Frosty's face is priceless and goes so well with the 'here we go again' look on the other one. Love the colouring & shading too. Really great stuff ^_^

Hopefully we'll have a few more trickle in as and when.

LMFAO.

*snort* Oh my God, you guys are SOOOO off with mine. :D Those are F-Zero characters! XD

Lucy Liberty is the girl, John Tanaka is the guy on the right, and Dr. Clash is the fat behemoth in the speedo. :p As for the words in the corner, that's my 'signature', also a way to prevent art theft. :)

The story behind mine is rather interesting: My idea originally had Jody Summer and John Tanaka in the water, but floating in front of them was Jody's bikini top and John's swim trunks. Realizing that would be crossing the line between good taste, I scratched that one and did several others (one not F-Zero related), until this idea came to mind.

I mean... everyone knows that there's trouble when you see an overweight 50-year old in a speedo at the beach, right? RIGHT?! >=O

Now - but not for the first time - I feel sooooo dumb :p (looks around) I blame Hero, he got here first and obviously led me astray *slaps Hero with a wet lettuce* Ummm, well at least we got that he was a doctor

Sorry about that Mek, my ignorance aside that doesn't detract for one moment from an ace pic :D

Good god yes and thank goodness for really dark shades too.

Me: the parasol is a pun on the X-Men logo. Iceman is a mix of Ultimate one, Evo one and normal one. On the right, right on top of a really craptacular wave, you can see Havok.
Rune: Batman seems rather, um, troubled. Like "WTH am I doing here?" The chick and mad scientist look great too.
Starscream: Great "stone" feel on this gargoyle.
Mek: Wondrous coloring and general "feeling".
Hero: ROTFL. Pure and simple.

RAYELI's pic has just been added to the website! Go and have a look! :)

Great work guys. A small turn out but some wonderfully inspired ideas as well as drawings. The use of the title has made this particular album a treat!

Rayeli - very cute and very summery, I love the light, bright colours and I'm also really worried that Ed's gonna wind up eating that sandcastle when he's done.

Any more for any more? I think Tim might have one but he's away at the mo and was having scanner grief

No idea if there any more, but I like what we have. Yeah, not a fan of Ed Edd and Eddie like you and Rayeli, Rune, but they make for a great light and fun pic.

HoW's pic was beautifully simple. If it wasn't for the fact it's already on the website I would have made it my choice for "Pic Of The Month". Simple but effective.

Mek - the colouring is great. I can understand why in the movie climate people mistook your characters for something more mainstream, but it's a great picture. Lovely summery colours.

Westlander: Great idea man, I wish Frozen was around to see it!

Starscream: Your pencils are beautiful as ever. Gargoyles are cool - or hot - or well, you know.

Rune: Two lovely pics. I like the idea and penwork on the Batman one. I always see Batman as a waxer myself.. :p

Heh, that's okay. Personally, I'm greatly amused that people would mistake Lucy, John and Clash for Mary-Jane, Peter and Otto respectivley. :p But given that no one really knows who they are (at least, until GP Legend comes to the states in September), I can see why they'd be confused.

So in short, no harm done. :)

I am suprised though that I didn't get quite the reaction I was hoping for... Ahh well, I'm just glad y'all like it, and that's what counts, right? RIGHT?! >=O

Nice work people. :) And thanks for all the compliments. :anime: (yech, I hate using that girly smile, but sometimes I find it's the best way to get my thoughts across). Now for the rundown:

Rayeli ~ I'm not an Ed'd'y fan, but I still like what you've done here. The characters seem to be well-designed, from what I've seen of the show. I really like the colors of this pic, which makes it look appropriately summery. For some reason I'm really liking the beach chair. O_o And I also like the subtle highlights on their faces.

Westlander ~ Heh. Three "Summers" in this one. Or two and a half. Well, technically, they're all in summer, so I guess that should be one whole summer..... ANYWAYS, I really like the expression on Iceman's face. Nice coloring, too. The lightness of his colors really bring a nice "cold" feeling in him. Hmm. I see Scott, Alex, and Jean, but who's the other guy on the left?

Rune ~ Agghh! Going.....blind!!! Somebody PLEASE tell Batman to cover those legs! :p Man, no wonder super heroes dig the tights look; it's revealing, but it still hides the stuff that shouldn't be seen. Made me laugh the first time I saw it, and still makes me giggle after looking at it, like 4 times. No simple task. :)

There's SO much of a difference between your Batman pic and your Kim Possible drawing that I had to double check to make sure they're both from the same artist. I like the way these two drawings show your wide drawing range. Another funny pic. And if you don't mind my saying so, I love the way your grass turned out. Seriously. I think it's probably some of the best grass I've ever seen.

Mek ~ I have to rush now, so I'll make this quick. I'm not familliar with the characters, but I like how they came out. And I LOVE the coloring.

Hero ~ LOL! I guess SJJ's left to clean up the mess, huh? Oh well, that's the price you pay for following in one tyrant's footsteps. :D

Augh, why am I now feeling stupid for using characters that no one's heard about? =_=;

I probably should have gone with the Hellboy idea instead...

Consider yourself a promoter of new ideas.. :) Now people will look them up, or if not, will pay more attention to their images if they see them elsewhere. Opening people up to new stories and characters is always a good thing.
