On MTV2 the OVA Galerians: Rion airs on MTV2 Saturday tonight at 11pm EDT and tomorrow Sunday at 8am and Monday night at 1am. It's aired once at 2pm, if you've seen it, talk about it here.
Galerians: Rion
In GALERIANS: RION, Earth's population has been enslaved by Dorothy, a genocidal computer. Only a viral program developed by her creator can emancipate the human race, and only one of Dorothy's own super-powered Galerians holds the key to unlocking the code and destroying the human who carries it. Rion is dispatched to find his childhood friend, Lilia, daughter of Dorothy's creator. As he uncovers the truth about himself and his origins, he is forced to battle not only the Galerians - but himself! Soundtrack features gold and platinum-selling industrial rock artists such as Slipknot, Fear Factory, The Ataris, Sevendust and more.

I watched this earlier...it's absolutely horrid. Rather clunky animation, a nonsense story, horrible music, and so on.
Dub is by Animaze/Bang Zoom, featuring a lot of good actors who put in horrible performances. I suppose they watched it beforehand and wisely decided to not put too much effort into it. Robert Buchholz puts in the best performance as Birdman (?), but even his manical Beck-like laughter is half-hearted.
The soundtrack is composed of your usual generic screaming rock bands who were popular at the time. There are some unusual picks in the soundtrack, though...there's a Vandals song (a great band and you should go out and buy all their CDs right now plzkthx) that is used in a completely inappropriate spot (Vandals songs are generally light-hearted and humorous, they use it in a very serious fight/death scene).
It's probably a waste of an hour and a half to watch this, but my time was well spent because I had originally considered buying this when it came out since I planned on playing the games at some point, but I decided not to. Watching it here proved that I made the right decision.

I happened to catch this when I woke up this morning. I wanted to like this, but I couldn't bring myself to do it. It confused the heck out of me (but that is realy no feat sice I stayed up all night playing City of Heroes). I enjoyed the animation, thought it was nice cg especially the giant red robot thing at the end, but the story was just bleh and was too muddled for my tastes. I also liked the music, but thats because I enjoy heavy metal music where you can't understand what the vocalist is saying at all. The voices where what really got on my nerves, just bad all around with no effort even put into it, at some points it sounded as if they where putting no effort into the feelings of the characters at all.
All in all, Galerians is very good way to waste an hour. Just be aware you'll probably change the station sooner or later.

It was good as a PSone survival horror game (the story made sense in it). I really liked it and though it still had some problems, ultimately it was okay.
This crappy slapping together of dated CG cut scenes sucked, and was made worse by being matched with some of the most awful, generic, angsty BS "rock" music I have ever had the misfortune of hearing. That and the voice acting didn't help matters any.

The whole thing was pretty confusing...and the hero of the story bites it in the end. Anyone who missed it, it airs again in the late night next weekend.
