"China Jones" question

Now that I have finally seen "China Jones" again (1st time since the first grade!), I've been wondering about something. I know Porky is imitating Charlie Chan, but who is Daffy imitating, with that Irish accent?

CHINA JONES is a spoof of a 1950s TV detective series called: CHINA SMITH. Actor Dan Duryea played Smith. I've never seen it myself, but I assume he's imitating Duryea's performance.
