Not to be too mushy, but what scenes in animation really warmed your heart?

Here are some that warmed my heart:

The Simpsons:
"Life on the Fast Life":
Marge is driving through Springfield on her way to see Jacques. Stopping at the traffic lights she sees a wedding, and averts her eyes to the other direction only to see a young couple wheeling a pram. The lights turn green and she speeds off. At the next stop sign Marge uneasily watches a family at a picnic, and the elderly couple walking down the path at the next stop drives the point further, with the help of two gravestones side-by-side and two skeletons (costumes) holding hands.

At the turnoff to the SNPP and the Fiesta Terrace, Marge initially heads towards the Fiesta, but skids to a halt and reverses to the SNPP. She returns to the intersection and sits staring at the turnoff sign.

Marge enters the Power plant, to the surprise of all the workers clad in their
radiation suits. She marches down the main corridor, attracting the attention of everyone including Mr Burns. Her silhouette passes a doorway, and finds Homer working unhappily at a waste separator.

[Taps him on the shoulder]
Homer: Marge! What a lovely surprise! You're hear to see me, right?
Marge: Of course! [cuddles and kisses him on the cheek]

Homer picks her up and carries her past his cheering co-workers.

Lenny: Way to go Homer, Way to Go!

Worker: Hey, what will I tell the boss?
Homer: Tell him I'm going to the back seat of my car, with the woman I love, and I won't be back for ten minutes!

Continued applause and cheering from the other employees. Marge wears Homer's Safety helmet as he carries her outside into the sunset.

"Bart vs. Thanksgiving":

Dear Log: My brother is still missing, and maybe it's my fault because
I failed to take his abuse with good humor. I miss him so much already
that I don't... know... [sobs]
-- Lisa writes in her diary, ``Bart vs. Thanksgiving''

Bart hears Lisa's sobbing through a ventilation pipe and invites her up.
Lisa joins him on the roof.

Lisa: Bart, what are you doing up here? Everybody's worried!
Bart: Really? Did they cry?
Lisa: Yes.
Bart: Whoa! Bulls-eye!
-- Lisa joins Bart on the roof after his brief career as a runaway,
``Bart vs. Thanksgiving''

She asks why he burnt her centerpiece. ``Was it because you hate me?
Or because you're bad.''

I don't know! I don't know why I did it! I don't know why I enjoyed it!
And I don't know why I'll do it again!
-- Bart doesn't apologize to Lisa, ``Bart vs. Thanksgiving''

Lisa tells him, ``The only reason to apologize is if you look deep down
inside yourself, and you find a spot, something you wish wasn't there
because you feel bad you hurt your sister's feeling.'' Bart gives in
and closes his eyes. ``This is so stupid. I'm not going to find anything.
Just because I wrecked something she worked really hard on, and I made
her cr---... Uh oh. ... I'm sorry, Lisa.'' Lisa accepts the apology.
Homer peeks out from the bathroom window.

You know, Marge? We're great parents!
-- Homer watches Bart apologize to Lisa on the roof, ``Bart vs. Thanksgiving''

At 11pm, the family are gathered around the kitchen table...

Homer: Oh Lord, on this blessed day, we thank Thee for giving our family
one more crack at togetherness.
All: Amen.
-- Homer says grace at the second Thanksgiving dinner,
``Bart vs. Thanksgiving''

They then dig into turkey sandwiches.

"Bart gets hit by a car":

Marge: Bart, we'd thought for moment that you'd left us.

"One Fish, Two Fish, Blowfish, Blue Fish"

the whole episode is pretty heart-warming.

"I Married Marge":

A very pregnant Marge stands in the doorway, waiting for Homer to return.
Patty can hold her tongue no longer.

Marge, I've got two-and-a-half words for you. Gulp. 'N'. Blow.
-- Patty tells Marge where she can find Homer, ``I Married Marge''

Marge pulls up to the drive-through microphone.

Homer: Yeah, whaddya want.
Marge: My husband by my side.
Homer: You want fries with that?
-- Homer works at the Gulp-N-Blow, ``I Married Marge''

The happy couple are reunited. (``Holy cow, you're as big as a house!'')
Marge asks Homer to come home.

Look at me. I'm a trainee.
They won't even tell me what's in the secret sauce.
-- Homer works at the Gulp-N-Blow, ``I Married Marge''

Homer says he can't even afford a decent wedding ring, but Marge says that
any ring is fine. So Homer slips an onion ring on her finger. Marge is
touched, but adds, ``Would you mind if I took it off now? The oil is
burning my finger.'' Homer takes it off, and eats it.

Homer: You know, son, the day you were born, I received the greatest gift
a man could have. As the years went by, your mother and I were blessed twice more. And not a day goes by that we don't thank God for all three of you.

"Lisa's 1st Word":

Back at home, Bart is puzzled. He imagines talking heads flying around
him ("From now on the baby sleeps in the crib", "Iron helps us play",
Evil Clown laughter, and "Hello, Joe!"). Homer interrupts Bart's
hallucinations by asking him to come and see Little Lisa. Marge sits in
a rocking chair, holding Lisa, with light streaming through the
curtains. Lisa wakes up, yawning. The scene is adorable.

Bart prepares to run away from home. Lisa is puzzled. Bart explains
that it was still fun when it was just Homer, Marge and him.

Bart: You wrecked everything. I'm leaving. Goodbye.
Lisa: Bart.
Bart: [amazed] What did you say? Say it again!
Lisa: Bart.
Bart: Sufferin' Succotash! You can talk!
Lisa: Goo.
-- Lisa's first word, "Lisa's First Word"

Bart takes her downstairs to Homer and Marge. Lisa demonstrates her
newfound skill. "Bart Bart Bart Bart Bart Bart." "I was her first
word!" Lisa can also say "Mommy", so Bart tries to get her to say the
name of the actor on the "Knight Rider" cover of TV guide.

Bart: Can you say David Hasselhoff?
Lisa: Davah Hassa-hoff.
-- Lisa learns to talk, "Lisa's First Word"

Homer: Can you say Daddy?
Lisa: Homer.
Homer: No, sweetie. Daddy.
Lisa: [pause] Homer.
Homer: D'oh!
-- Like son, like daughter?, "Lisa's First Word"

Homer takes Maggie and heads upstairs.

Homer: The sooner kids talk, the sooner they talk back.
[tucks Maggie in] I hope you never say a word.
[shuts the door]
Maggie: [taking her pacifier out] Daddy.
-- Maggie's first word, "Lisa's First Word"

...and then she falls asleep.

"Lisa on Ice":

Bart and Lisa look around at the angry crowd, then Bart stops,
remembering a time when he lifted baby Lisa up to the cookie jar so she
could get a cookie for him. Lisa remembers a time when she clapped
happily as a young Bart made finger shadows for her in front of a tilted
lamp. Bart thinks of Lisa helping him bandage his knee after a
skateboarding accident. Lisa remembers eating ice cream by the wading
pool and dropping her scoop, only to have Bart give her a scoop of his.

Both children smile, throw aside their equipment, and hug. "Great game,
Lis." "Great game, Bart." The buzzer sounds

Man 1: What the heck is a tie game?
Man 2: Tie game?
Woman 1: What the hell?
Woman 2: This is outrageous!
Marge: Oh, I've never been so proud of them.
Homer: [weeping] They're both losers. Losers!
Abe: Rip-off!
Hans: We paid for blood!
Wiggum: Let's tear this place apart!
Abe: Good idea!
-- A good-old hockey riot, "Lisa on Ice"

Everyone rips into things and pummels each other. Bart and Lisa skate
slowly down the ice, arm-in-arm.

Snake: Those kids are, like, so sweet. [sobs] If only they had had peewee hockey when I was a lad. [sniffs] Oh well. [grabs crowbar, rips seats apart]
-- Yet another lesson lost, "Lisa on Ice"

The final shot shows people punching one another and fires burning
inside the arena.

"The Secret war of Lisa Simpson":
Commandant: Next up ... Simp-son, Lis-a.
[the crowd falls silent. The cadet leader plays, "Taps."
Lisa climbs the ladder to the first platform, as the crowd
begins jeering]
Lisa: Well, at least they're talking to me.
[at the top of the platform, she looks at the ground, which
appears to be 400 feet below her, rather than 40.
Tentatively, she grasps the rope and starts to cross in
hand-over-hand fashion]
If only I were in Springfield, all my friends would be
cheering me on ... oh, God, I'm delirious.
[Lisa's hands slip, and she dangles from the rope by only
her legs]
Cadets: Drop! Drop! Drop! ...
Bart: [steps forward from the crowd] You can make it, Lisa. I
know you can! Come on, I know you can do it! Just get
your hands back on the rope! Just a little further! [Lisa
grabs the rope again and begins crawling] Come on, a little
bit more, you're doing great! That's it, come on, just a
little bit more!
[the other cadets try to silence Bart, but he wriggles free
of them]
I know you can do it, I believe in you!
[and she does it!]
Lisa: Yes! [she gets to the next platform, and climbs back down
to earth]
[arms raised] You said I couldn't but I could I did and I
could do it again let's do it again!
Bart: Lisa, it's over, you made it. You can put your arms down.
Lisa: I can't, they're stuck.
-- Winning ... "The Secret War of Lisa Simpson"

Futurama:

"Space Pilot 3000":

Fry: Oh, can't you leave me alone? I'm miserable enough already.

Leela: Look, I know it's not much consolation but I understand how you feel.

Fry: No you don't. I've got no home, no family...

[b]Bender: No friends.

Fry: ...My whole world is gone. You can't possibly understand what it feels like to be so alone.

Leela: I understand. I'm the only one eyed alien on this whole planet. My parents abandoned me here as a baby and I don't even know what galaxy they were from. I know how it feels to be alone.

Fry: Look Leela, I don't understand this world but, you obviously do, so I give up. If you really think I should be a delivery boy, I'll do it. [He holds out his hand to Leela. She readies the implant gun. Fry cringes and looks away. The gun clicks but Fry feels nothing. He opens his eyes and sees Leela drop her own chip on the floor.] Your chip. What are you doing?

Leela: Quitting.

Fry: Why?

Leela: Because I've always wanted to. I just never realised it before I met you.

[She puts her hand on his and smiles. Bender puts his hand on top.]

Fry: What is the matter with you?

[b]Bender: I just wanted to be part of the moment.
_________________________________________________________________

"The Series has Landed":

Fry: Look Leela, I'm sorry. I never should have dragged you out here.

Leela: That's right you shouldn't have. I still don't get what the big attraction is.

[Fry sighs.]

Fry: I never told anybody this but a thousand years ago I used to look up at the moon and dream about being an astronaut. I just never had the grades. Nor the physical endurance. Plus I threw up a lot and nobody liked spending a week with me.

Leela: A week would be a little much.

Fry: The moon was like this awesome, romantic, mysterious thing, hanging up there in the sky where you could never reach it, no matter how much you wanted to. But you're right. Once you're actually here it's just a big dull rock. I guess I just wanted you to see it through my eyes, the way I used to.

[Leela looks through a window. She sees the Earth.]
Leela: Fry, look. It really is beautiful. I don't know why I never noticed it before.
_________________________________________________________________

"Love's Labors Lost in Space":

Leela: (thinking) Dear Captain's Diary. I may not have found love on this mission but I did find a cute little companion who excretes starship fuel and that's just as good.
_________________________________________________________________

"Fear of a bot Planet":

Leela: There. That ought to show that stupid robot we care about him.

Green Elder: Do it now! Kill them before they bring down our whole society!

Elders (chanting): Do it! Do it! Do it! Do it! Do it! Do it! Do it! Do it! Do it! Do it! Do it! Do it! Do it!

Bender: Aww! [He throws the killer-ma-jig away. The Elders gasp.] I can't kill them. Plenty of humans have mistreated robots but not these two. they're my friends. Humans are no threat to us. They're stupid, putrid cowards.

Fry: Damn right!
Bender: The fact is, humans are completely harmless.

Bender: Wow, I can't believe you guys did all this for me! This is the best Robanukah ever!

Fry: We wanted to show you that we really do respect your robot heratige.

Bender: Aww, thanks! You do know I made Robanukah up to get out of work right?

Leela: Of course.

Fry: But that doesn't make it any less meaningful!

"Fishful of Dollars":

[Cut to: Fry's Dream. Pizza's, 1077's and anchovy tins float around him. Leela and Bender's heads float towards him.]

Fry: Oh I had a nightmare I was in the year 2000 and you guys never existed. I'm so glad I'm awake now and you're really here.

Leela: Since when do you care about us?

Bender: We thought you only cared about cans of anchovies and stuffy old songs about the buttocks.

Fry: No that's not true!

[Leela and Bender float away.]

Leela: Goodbyee!

Bender: Wheee!

[A pack of Lightspeeds appear in the corner.]

Announcer (voice-over): This dream brought to you by Lightspeed briefs.

[Fry comes to. A repobot walks out of his apartment with his TV.]

Fry: Bender. Leela. Don't leave me. Wait a minute. Hey buddy what year is this?

Repobot: Uh, 3000.
Fry: 3000? Yes! I'm still in the future! Life is wonderful!

Fry: Leela! Bender! I missed you so much!

Fry: You might as well put that chequebook away because I've discovered something even more important. My friends. And they aren't worth even a penny to me. That's why these anchovies are going on a pizza, so I can share the food I love with the people I like.

"My 3 Suns":

[b]Amy: Oh no. They have her totally outnumbered.

Fry: I can't believe it. She's risking her life for me after the way I treated her. I don't deserve this. I feel terrible.

Bender: You do?

Fry: Is she alright?

Bender: I don't know. Perhaps I'll look out this window. Oh dear God in heaven they're swarming all over her.

Fry: No. No!

Amy: What are you talking about Bender she's al -

[Bender puts his hand over Amy's mouth and she finally realises what he is doing.]

Bender: They're strapping her to juicer! They're putting some ice cubes in that glass under it!

Fry: This can't be happening.

Bender: It can and for all you know it is...I'm sorry Fry. She's dead.

[Fry starts to cry.]

Fry: All Leela ever wanted to do was help me. But I was to proud, too stupid to accept it. [He throws his crown across the room.] I wish I'd died instead of her.

[He starts to cry. The tear lands in the bottle which Amy holds under his eyes. She smiles. Enter Leela via the window.]

Leela: What are you talking about?

[Fry stops crying.]

Fry: Leela! You're alive!
Leela: Of course I'm alive.

Fry (crying): Thanks everybody. I love you all. You guys are all so -

"Hell is Other Robots":

Fry: Does that mean we can eat now?

Bender: Yes. [The crew tuck in.] But first, since I love you all so much, I'd like to give everyone hugs. Come here Fry!

Fry: Oh uh, but I don't want to.

[Bender hugs Fry.]
Bender: Mmmm! Mmmm! Fry. You're my friend! [Fry, unsure, pats Bender on the back. Bender stands up again.] C'mon, everyone line up for a hug. Let's tear down some emotional walls.

Leela: (singing) It's up to us to rescue him.

Fry: (singing) Maybe he likes it here in hell.
Leela: (singing) It's us who tempted him to sin.

[They do. Hellbots and flying bugbots chase them. The bugbots shoot laser rings at them. Bender grabs a pair of a bugbot's wings and flies in and grabs Fry and Leela who are swarmed by a crowd of hellbots with pitchforks. Bender ascends and heads for small hole in the roof.]

Robot Devil: Stop them! They cheated!

[A bugbot shoots three laser rings at the trio. Two miss but one catches on Bender's antenna, forming a halo. The Hallejulah chorus plays and they get closer to the hole. Hellbots pull chains to close the hole.]

Leela: Hurry Bender!

Bender: I could if you'd drop the stupid gold violin!

Leela: Oh, sorry.

[She drops it. It hits Beezlebot on the head. He squeals and Fry, Leela and Bender escape through the hole.]

[Cut to: Outisde The Inferno. They cheer.]

Leela [simultaneously]: Yeah!

Bender [simultaneously]: Hooray!

Fry [simultaneously]: All right!
Bender: Don't worry guys, I'll never be too good or too evil again. From now on, I'll just be me.
_________________________________________________________________

"A Flight to remember":

Fry: Hey Leela, why'd you run off from dinner?

Leela: I didn't run off. I had plenty of time to finish eating and stroll away while you were kissing Amy.

Fry: Oh look, I'm not actually interested in her if that's what's bothering you.

Leela: Oh. Are you sure? I mean, she has two eyes, you have two eyes.

Fry: I know, we seem like a perfect match. But, I just don't feel that way about her.

[The Titanic drifts past a nebula.]

Leela: Nice nebula.

Fry: Yeah.

[They look down at the couples on the decks below: Hermes and LaBarbara, Bender and the Countess, Mr and Mrs Wong, Dr Zoidberg and a jellyfish thing and Farnsworth and Hattie.]

Leela: Look's like everybody's got somebody. Except me.

Fry: And me.
[They gaze into each other's eyes and start to lean in to kiss.]

Mrs Wong: Amy!

Amy: Mom? Dad? You're alive!

Mr Wong: Yeah but so what? The important thing is we found you a new man.

Mrs Wong: A captain.

Amy: Uh Mom, I don't...[Enter Kif.]...Hi!

Kif: (sexfully) Hello!
[Kif picks Amy up and carries her to the escape pod. They kiss.]

Fry: Leela, your scaredness is being transmitted straight to Bender. If you care about Nibbler, stop caring about him!

Leela: I can't. I love every living creature.

Fry: Even me?

Leela: As a friend.

Fry: Damn.
[Leela starts to cry.]
_________________________________________________________________

"Xmas Story":

[He leaps for the bird but it flies away before he can get a hold of it. He loses his balance and falls. He grabs onto the 2 on the clock. It changes to a 3 then a 4. He falls a little further. It changes to a 5, a 6 and then a 7. With nothing to hold onto he falls. Leela grabs him from a hatch.]

Leela: Hi there!

Fry: Leela! Oh my God! You saved my life! I am gonna get you so many lizards!

[Scene: Street.]

Leela: You didn't need to buy me a present Fry.

Fry: I just wanted to do something to make you happy. I mean, I miss my family but you never even had a family.

Leela: It's OK. You're lonely and I'm lonely. But together we're lonely together.

[They hold hands.]

Fry: Merry Xmas Leela.
Leela: Merry Xmas.

Fry: Leela, we may not have much time left...[Bender sneaks past them to an empty chair.]...so let's spend all of it reminscing about Bender. He was like a big computer than ran on magic.

[Bender sits down, ties his arms up behind the chair and clears his throat.]

Bender: Uh, help! Help!

Leela: Bender!

Fry: You're OK! Bender: Yes I am. Having just this minute regained consciousness.
________________________________________________________________

"The Problem with Popplers":

Leela: Popplers are intelligent. This one called me mama.

[She has the Poppler wrapped in a Tender 'n' Juicy napkin.]

Zoidberg: Congratulations. I assume Amy is the father.

Bender: Popplers can't talk. Leela must be hallucinating from not eating enough Popplers. Here, eat some now.

[He picks up a bucket. Leela turns away.]

Leela: No!

[Bender squeezes her mouth open and tips some Popplers into her mouth.]

Bender: I said "eat"! Come on, mange!

[Leela throws the bucket into a bin, gasps and runs over to it.]

Leela: Sorry, babies.

[She puts it on the table.]

Amy: Leela, maybe you should lie down.

Zoidberg: Yes, listen to the father.

Leela: I'm telling you, it spoke to me. Come on, little Poppler, say "mama".

[She tickles it. Fry tuts and leans back in his chair.]

Fry: Look, Leela, even if you heard one talk, that doesn't mean it's intelligent. I mean, parrots talk and we eat them, right?

Bender: Yeah. Maybe it just learned to talk as a parlour trick. Like Fry.

Fry: [nodding] Like Fry! Like Fry!

Farnsworth: There's one way, and only one way, to determine if an animal is intelligent. [He stands up and rubs his hands together.] Dissect its brain!

[The Poppler reaches out to Leela.]

Poppler: No, mama. Stop grandpa! [Everyone but Farnsworth, who is sharpening a knife, gasps.]

Bender: I'll miss you, Leela. [Leela is in a circus animal cage.] I know you're just a carbon-based life form but I'll always think of you as a big pile of titanium.

[He sobs. Fry puts his arm around him.]

Fry: What Bender means is, you're really brave, and smart, and beautiful, and a great friend.

Bender: (crying) Just like titanium!
[He cries into Fry's lap.]

"Amazon Women in the mood":

Bender: (crying) I'll misss you meatbag.
Leela: Me too meatbag.

Kif: Amy. Before I die I have to tell you. I didn't mean to say those awful things on our date. They were all Zapp's idea.

Amy: Really? Honest and true?

Kif: Yes. And-And that person calling and hanging up, was me. I was just too nervous to say hello because, I love you.
Amy: Oh Kif!

[An Amazonian picks her up by her ponytail, throws her on the floor and sits on her. Amy walks past on stilts. She has put a bone through her hair and torn her dress so she looks like an Amazonian.]

Amy: (deep voice) Me next snu-snu. Out me way.

[She walks into a snu-snu chamber.]

[Cut to: Kif's Snu-Snu Chamber. Thog looks under a bed.]

Leela: Aww they're so cute! They're like if puppies and kittens could have babies!

[Scene: Pluto Surface. Leela walks over the icy surface with her gun. She crawls to a ledge and sees a flock of penguins.]

Leela: Alright, this is for their own good. Don't leave orphans. Gotta kill entire families. [She looks down the gunsight.] But they're so cute. No! You can do this. It's just like murdering a little butler. I...I can't look. [She shakes as she starts to squeeze the trigger. A tear streams down her face. Bang. The penguins squawk and run away.] (crying) Oh no! What have I done? [She runs down the hillside. The penguins are gathered around a dead penguin. Leela falls to her knees and cries.] Oh you poor little guy! I'm so sorry I - Bender? [Bender opens his eyes and resets to Human Mode. He loads the Human Language and brings up his task list. 1) Bend. 2) Cheese It! He stands up and takes the bullet out of his head. Leela stops crying.] What's going on? Were you hiding out with these little guys?

Bender: Of course not. Filthy ice rats. Scat! Shoo! [The penguins rub against him.] Gah! What are you doing? Get away!

Leela: Aww, they love you!
Bender: Well I don't love them. [A baby penguin looks up at him and cheeps.] Aww! [He regurgitates some food into it's mouth. Leela looks away.] I don't know why but when I look down at their little faces, it makes me wanna puke! In a good way!

"Luck of the Fryrish":

This whole was pretty heart-warming, esp. the beginning flashback and the ending.
_________________________________________________________________

"Love and Rocket":

Sheldon: Do any of you collect Lovey Bears?

Amy: I do! Kif's given me dozens! Is it true what the ad says? That you kiss them together out of blanket cloth and magic buttons?
Gwen: No.

Zoidberg (voice-over): As the candy hearts poured into the firey quasar a wonderous thing happened why not. They vapourised into a mysitcal love radiation that spread across the universe destroying many many planets, including two gangster planets and a cowboy world. But one planet was at exactly the right distance to see the romantic rays, but not be destroyed by them. Earth. So all over the world couples stood together in joy. And me, Zoidberg! And no one could have been happier unless it would have been Valentines Day. What? It was? Hooray! [As he speaks shots of couples on Earth come and go. Horrible Gelatinous Blobs, mutants, Amy and Kif and Fry and Leela (joined by Zoidberg).]
_________________________________________________________________

"Leela's Homeworld":

[Flashback - Vogel's Office, 2974. Vogel is in his office and the doorbell goes. He opens the door, looks around, then looks down. baby Leela is in a basket. He picks her up. He tickles her. Then he sees a note, written in the alien language.]
Vogel: What the..? An alien language. I guess you're an alien. What a beautiful gigantic eye you ha- [Leela kicks him.] Well, come on in.

Leela: I told a whole crowd today that being an orphan made me strong. But all I really wanted was a mom and dad, to hold me and stroke my hair and tell me they loved me.

Fry: Then today's your lucky day because I happen to be a holding, stroking, lovin' machine! Also spankin'!

Leela: That's not even close to what I had in mind.

Fry: Well anyway, just remember that people care about you.

Leela: I know. [They both gaze up at the stars.] Sometimes when I'm lonely, I look up at the sky and I get this feeling that somewhere, on some unknown planet, circling a distant star, my parents are there, looking down on me.
[From the sewers a pair of cyclopses gaze up at Leela.]

[Flashback: 20 Something Years Ago. 100 Something Feet Underground. A baby is born in the sewers.]

Doctor: It's a girl.

[Two cyclopses look over the baby. But these cyclopses are oddly different. The mother has tentacles and the father's mouth is vertical rather than horizontal.]

Mother: My God! She's beautiful! No extra anythings!

[The father reaches his hand out. The baby grabs his finger and goos.]

Father: Good people skills.

Mother: She's perfect!

Doctor: In my professional opinion as an ear, ear, ear, nose and throat doctor, she is the least mutated mutant ever born.

Father: And yet she's cursed to live the horrible degrading life of a mutant. Like all of us. Especially him!

[He points at the Leg Mutant.]

Leg Mutant: It's true!

Mother: Maybe we can do better for her.

[Scene: Outside Cookieville Orphanarium. The mutants come out of a manhole outside the front door with their baby. They put it in a basket outside the front door. The father puts a bracelet on the baby's wrist - just like Leela's.]

Father: I made this bracelet for you so that in some small way, we'll always be with you. Even when it doesn't seem like it. During your entire life for example.

[He cries.]

Mother: You won't pass for human, cutie. But if my PhD in exo-liguistics is worth diddly-poop, this note should convince them you're an alien. [She attaches the note to the baby's basket.] And that'll be enough to give you a real life.

[She kisses the baby, puts her hood up and runs down the steps. The father rings the doorbell and follows her. Warden Vogel opens the door and sees the baby.]

[Cut to: Sewer. The parents watch as Vogel picks the baby's basket up.]

Father: She'll never know we're her parents.

Mother: That's our gift to her. Better we should die than she learn the shameful truth of her origin.

Father: I'm with you.

[They hug. Then turn to watch Vogel.]

Vogel: What a beautiful gigantic eye you ha - [The baby kicks him.]. Well come on in.
[The parents watch their baby - their Leela - disappear inside, hold their breath and dive into the sewers.]

Fry: I had the Professor analyse the alienese letter that was found with you.

Leela: What does it say?

Fry: I 'unno. But the analysis showed it was printed on recycled toilet paper. A squeezably soft paper that is used mainly in the sewers.

[Leela's mother takes the paper.]

Munda: It says, Your parents love you very much.

Morris: We still do.

Leela: So, I'm not an alien? I'm a mutant.

Morris: We never wanted you to know. You deserved a better life.

Munda: You must despise us.

Leela: You're my parents. All I've ever wanted is to know you. [They hug.] This is the happiest moment of my life.

[They cry. It starts to rain.]

[Cut to: Street. It isn't raining - Bender is emptying a spitoon on them!]

Bender: Aww!
[Flashbacks. Over the flashbacks Pizzicato Five's Baby Love Child plays. Baby Leela crawls down a corridor at the Orphanarium and nearly falls down the stairs. Her father's arm comes out of the wall and turns her around. Young Leela sits at a desk in her room studying. Her mother's tentacle comes through the toilet and puts a box of cookies on her desk. Leela smiles and eats them. Adolescent Leela walks around New New York on her birthday with no friends. Her mother puts a present on the pavement for her. She reads the message with it: Happy Birthday Leela. Mid-twenties Leela tosses and turns in bed. Her father puts his arm through the laundry chute and pulls the sheet over her. She smiles and goes to sleep.]

"The Devil's Hands are idle playthings":

[Scene: Metropolitan House Of Opera. Fry sits alone on the stage in the empty auditorium. He puts his holophonor on the floor and gets up to leave.]

Leela: Please don't stop playing Fry. I wanna hear how it ends. [Fry turns around. Leela is the only person left in the room. He smiles then sits down, picks up the holophonor and starts to play. The smoke whirls around above him and forms a crude cartoon-like image of him and Leela who turn to each other and take hold of one another's hand. They kiss, turn around and walk away towards the horizon, never taking their eyes off each other.]

The scene at the end of "Batman: Mask of the Phantasm" when Andrea Beaumont is on the Cruise-ship looking out towards Gothem City as her hair was blowing in the wind, some guy comes out on to the ships deck to stand next to her and says "Lovely sight." and she replies "Yes" in a very low and unenthusiastic ton. He realizes by the ton in her voice that she's depressed and says "I'm sorry. Do you want to be alone." she replys in the same low ton "I am." and then bals her head as the seen shifts to Batman standing on a roof top with his eye's closed.

Also a scene in the premiere episode of "The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo" Shaggy and Daphne share a lingering hug after a crisis is over. I've never seen anything quite like this transpire between two human members of the gang before, and it changed my view of Scooby-Doo forever.

I'd have to say the later scenes in the post "world tour" episodes of Gargoyles, specifically any of the scenes with the Xanatos family, here we have two of the major human antagonists of the series (David and Fox) of note was a scene in "Hunter's moon" where Xanatos was being grilled by the authorities as he was trying to spend quality time with his son, how often is it you see a recurring villain character playing the part of the caring father? coming from a split-custody household myself those sort of scenes really strike a chord with me (and don't even get me started on Finding Nemo)

The Simpsons : "Lisa's Substitue": "You are Lisa Simpson." That pretty much says it all.

South Park Bigger Longer and Uncut: Kenny goes to heaven. I tear up EVERY dang time!

The Beast's reawakening from his near death at the end of Beauty and the Beast. It was cheap, I know but his "You came back..." kills me.

Futurama: The Luck of the Fryish: Bender ALMOST wrecks the scene of Fry putting the lucky clover leaf on his nephews grave, but it was just too great a scene for him to ruin. The Breakfast Club theme music was great too. (Family Guy's use of it is put to shame here.)

Justice League: The Terror Beyond. Don't ask me how Solomon Grundy's death is heart warming. It just is.

The Hunchback of Notre Dame: The little girl touching Quasimodo's deformed face at the end of the film ranks as the most triumphant ending of a Disney film EVER!

Finding Nemo: Dory remembering Nemo's name and why she was looking for him. Awesome.

Monsters Inc: Sully finding Boo's room at the end: "Kitty!"

How the Grinch Stole Christmas: It is SO weird that you spend the entire cartoon routing for the Grinch to ruin Christmas but his reformation as he hears the Whos singing isn't forced at all. YOU change your mind about Christmas right when the Grinch does.

A Charlie Brown Christmas: The kids fixing up Charlie Brown's poor little tree and screaming "Merry Christmas Charlie Brown!" is a highlight of the special. So is Linus describing the true meaning of Christmas.

Edit: I'm only going to put Spoiler Boxes on Justice League, because I'm pretty sure people have had the chance to see the rest. It's like people complaining when you give the twist away to The Crying Game even though it came out twelve years ago. Still spoiler boxes ARE important.

At the end of Lilo & Stitch when the Grand Councilwoman lets Stitch say goodbye to Lilo and Nani, and when she asks who they are he responds: "This is my family. I found it, all on my own. It's little, and broken, but still good. Yeah, still good."

The scene in Secret of NIMH when Mrs. Brisby is feeding Timothy the broth with medicine for his pneumonia in it, and she assures her other three children that their brother will be all right. Such a contrast from earlier when Martin and Auntie Shrew were getting on each other's nerves ;)

Zia's reunion with her father in episode 33 of Mysterious Cities of Gold. What makes it especially poigniant is that her father had been mortally wounded by the Olmecs one episode earlier.

In The Real Ghostbusters episode "The Thing In Mrs. Faversham's Attic", Peter Venkman decided to have tea with an old lady named Mrs. Faversham then going to another bust due to the fact she reminds of his mother.
Actually Don, The Real Ghostbusters had a second heart warming and surprising episode during it's next to last season run (season 6) opener on ABC.. and this one was also a surprise even to me..

Janine, You've Changed, is the episode where the Ghostbusters go back through a walk down memory lane in their phot album, reminicsing about all the adventures over the last 5 years.. but the real shock came when they noticed in the photgrphs, How much their secretary, (Janine Melnitz), had changed over that short time physically (she had gone from a skinny Hip Looking Punker girl type with Unruly red hair (Season 1) to a more reformed and sophisticated Looking profession with nicely done Red Hair by the time this episode aired..

So the guys start doing odd things.. like scoping Janine out and they find some rather "Disturbing" qualities..

(now you're saying where is the Heart warming Part? it's coming..)

anyway the boys, (Peter, Egon, Ray, and Winston) find out that Janine has been constantly altered by a spirit that is faking itself off as a fairy godmother, who's been altering Janine physically, and it's at this point the guys go after.. it.. But the spirit has a hold over Janine, and it's then the heart warming moment comes out..

Janine is firmly entrenched that none of the guys in the group notice that's she's changed.. She even goes as so far as saying how they thought she was unattractive, unwanted, even unloved..

and in fact it's a real shocker.. Egon Spengler right at that moment, all of a sudden comes Clean out of the blue, and professes that he Loves Janine Melnitz, .. and not the physical Look either.. but rather the person inside..

(and when he said that my jaw hit the pavement.. HE SAID HE LOVED HER??!!! ) and believe me it's that show stopping Heart warming Moment that brought this show to what I call Full Circle.. and beyond that.. they really didn't need to do anymore..(but they producers still went on and finished out just 13 shows later.. during season 7)...

But it was this Season 6 opener that really was a tender moment. as an intelligent scinetist tossed all logic out the window and emottionally professed a love that had been building over the previous 5 years. .and it was the icing on the cake for this series..

Lots of good stuff has already been mentioned here. But the MOST heart-warming scene in animation is obvious in my mind: the end of Cowboy Bebop episode 24, "Hard Luck Woman". It's the end of the entire crew being together, before the climactic 2-parter ending to the series. Accompanied by the song "Call Me Call Me", that scene is a bittersweet masterpiece, and it gets me every time.

The ending of Trigun's "Paradise" is almost as effective. Again, that gets me every time. When you see the drops of blood on the ground after Wolfwood walks away, you suddenly realize what's going on... and even moreso when he starts saying, "If I am reincarnated..."
What makes it really sad is that he seems to think his life was a waste. Also, the aftermath where you see Millie crying is probably the saddest part, the part that seals the deal.
I suppose that's more heart-breaking than heart-warming.

P.S. -- I'd suggest you all follow my example and use spoiler tags, since pretty much ANYTHING could be posted here, about any show.

In the Land Before Time where Little Foot is left alone one night to sleep by himself. A few minutes later, Ducky comes over and starts to sleep with him because the others are being too noisy. Soon everyone joins him.
Also in the movie the beginning where Little Foot has just hatched and he meets his family and the end is pretty heartwarming too.

The end to All Dogs Go to Heaven when Charlie visits Anne Marie for the last time.

The scene in Mulan where Mulan and Mushu are confessing stuff about each other and at the end of it Mushu gives her a hug.

"Baby Mine" in Dumbo

"Somewhere out there" from An Amiercian Tail and the ending to it too.

The final scene in Cowboy Bebop's "Waltz for Venus". After telling stella that Rooco is dead, Spike walks slowly out into an open air market and as grey ash begins to fall like snow he looks up and Stella by Moor begins to play and all the emotion of the episode flows together at that one point.

Three additional emotional moments from Futurama come to mind. The first is the finale of Jurassic bark, Fry's old dog sitting watchfully outside of Panucci' as time passes to his death and Ten Thousand Summers plays is nearly heartbreaking. The ending of "Nothing but Nebula" is emotional as well. Fry looking out mournfully to the place where his lost love message to Leela had been while Bender whistles Sweet Georgia Brown was a poignant and touching moment. Lastly, the ending of "The Sting" was very emotionally effective, Fry's devotion to Leela, even though or perhaps because it may well be in futility, was memorable and bittersweet.

A most interesting thread indeed.

Here is a list of the Most Heart-Warming scenes in Animation (IMO):

'Project A-ko 3' : At the end of the anime movie C-ko gives A-ko an earring and then comforts her Best friend after A-ko was heartbroken by her supposed date.

'Project A-ko 4' : A-ko's reaction on seeing her best friend, C-ko standing at the front door of her house, after witnessing (along with the entire GC armed forces) C-ko leaving the earth forever when her (C-ko's) people came for her, however, she chose to stay on earth with A-ko.

'Justice League' ( 1st season) ep: Paradise Lost- Pts. 1&2:In Part 1 - The conversation between Wonder Woman & Superman when he notices her sadness and then encourages her to reconcile with her mother (after the events that transpired in Secret Origins)

Part 2: Wonder Woman comforting Superman after the decisive and fierce battle between the two heroes in the mall.

'JL' (2nd season) ep: Comfort and Joy: The entire episode:)

'X-Men Evolution' ep: The Cauldron - Pt. 1: The reunion between Scott Summers and his kid brother Alex Masters was probably the most heart-warming scene in animation (imo)

'X-Men Evo' ( 3rd season) ep: Blind Alley: Scott and Jean finally manage to acknowledge their feelings for each other.

'The Simpsons' (1st season) ep: Christmas Special (aka Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire). "You must really Love us to sink so low." as quoted by Bart Simpson as he admired Homer's effort to keep the family from missing out on Christmas.

Bart's pleading to Homer to keep Santa's Little Helper and later, Bart shows the family SLH, and Lisa is estatic and Marge says it's the Best gift of all. The tender moment is captured forever in a snapshot:)

Another heart-warming Simpsons episode is: Brother, can you spare two dimes? Where we see Herb forgives Homer, a truly touching and an amusing scene:D

The ending to The Simpsons episode where Bart enters the box-car race. Just seeing Homer and Bart having a 'father/son' moment while 'Wind Beneath My Wings" playing just *gets* me every time.

The ending to "Luck of the Fryish". OMG, I just started bawling when I saw it. 'Don't You Forget About Me' by Simple Minds really cinched it too. That, and 'Jurassic Bark' too. :(

The last few minutes of episode 9 of 'F-Zero: GP Legend' ("Jody's Secret", Japanese version) got me all misty-eyed when...
Rick Wheeler risked his life to save Jody Summer, much in the same way her brother sacrificed himself to protect her several years ago, resulting in his 'death'. A shame this whole sequence was cheapened 20-some eps. later.... but seeing Rick and Jody standing together on a White Land hill with the sun rising beyond the mountains just touched me.

Another from GP Legend, the end to ep. 16 is heartwarming as...
Super Arrow and Mrs. Arrow are standing together on the track as the sun is setting. They talk about how much they love each other, and Super Arrow starts crying, vowing that he'll never leave her again. (He ran off with Miss Killer/Misaki Haruka earlier in the episode) Then the Arrows walk off into the sunset, each embracing each other.

Yet another Arrow moment from GP Legend, this time in ep. 20, when...
First, as Super and Rick are looking for Mrs. Arrow, Super writes 'Honey' on one of the windows to his car, and a faint mirage of Mrs. Arrow appears. Second, when the Arrows are reunited again, Super gives his wife a hug and rescues her from the chasm.

"Baby Mine" from Dumbo. I'd always cuddle with my mom after watching this.

The ending to "Comfort and Joy" from Justice Leauge.

they embrace in the rain...This always gives me the warm fuzzy feeling.Yes, that is also a very tear jerking scene, but it was always that last scene of the film that struck a nerve for me. Maybe because the whole seen was so "finale". I loved that it didn't have that whole "They lived happily ever after" ending. It didn't have a happy ending, just like real-life doesn't always have a happy ending in it. That's also one of the features that I love about the film "Batman Returns", the sequel to the 1989 classic "Batman". I also love the last confrontation between Batman and Catwomen in the second to the last scene of the movie when the two of them have already figured out each others identity and Batman asks "Why are you doing this. Let's just take him to the police(Refering to Max Schreck, who is the one that is responsible for Selina's decent in to madness.) then we can go home...together." She smacks her wipe onto the ground one time as a warning to him, but he continues. "Selina, don't you see? We're the same, we're the same. Split, right through the center." Then he ripes his mask off to reveal his true identity to her. A beautiful scene for a beautiful film. Now I finally figured out what "Batman: The Animated Series" is based off of. In fact the way things ended in "Batman: Mask of the Phantasm" were very similiar to the way things ended in "Batman Returns" The only great tragedy of "Batman Returns" is Michael Keaton not being nominated for an Oscar. I think Keaton is one of the most underrated actors of his generation. His performance in this film was incredible. The proof of that is the scene where he is searching for the corpse of Selina and you see the face of Bruce Wayne searching for hope. Then the Penguin appears from the water and when Keaton turns to face him, although he is not wearing his mask we see the face of Batman.

Well MOTP had a spectacular begining and an amazing ending. I based all my opinion of the film on that one last scene. It really was a well crafted scene. I love the feeling of despair and tradgey it emits, while avoiding a teary, cheesy, mushy ending. We can feel andi and Bruce's pain, without them making it overly obvious and forced.I cannot praise that scene enough...

as for micheal keaton, i'm sure he must be a good enough actor, but for me, he just wasn't batman. Michelle Pfiffer(sp?) however gave a stunning performance.I LOVE her acting abilities. She was brillinat as Catwoman and served justice to the character. And even though both batman returns and MOTP had similar endings, MOTP left a mark in my head that BR never did.Like I said, BR tried too hard to be tragic, something that almost always fails.

The part where Maggie is born is so sweet especially when she grabs Homer's thumb while he is complaining about her but then realizes that she is wonderful.
The other part is at the end when you see all the pictures on Homer's work station wall and covering up part of "Don't forget you're here forever" and making it say "Do it for her"

(He ran off with Miss Killer/Misaki Haruka earlier in the episode) Then the Arrows walk off into the sunset, each embracing each other.
Oh really?
What is 4Kids going to do about that? You can't have adultery in a kids show....

I'm surprised no one has mentioned that Simpson episode "And Maggie Makes Three"
The part where Maggie is born is so sweet especially when she grabs Homer's thumb while he is complaining about her but then realizes that she is wonderful.
The other part is at the end when you see all the pictures on Homer's work station wall and covering up part of "Don't forget you're here forever" and making it say "Do it for her"
D'oh! I knew I forgot something.

While I'm here, I'll also add the episode of The New Adventures Of Winnie The Pooh where Rabbit takes care of a little bluebird named Kessie and is devastated when her instinct to migrate kicks in. The scene with Pooh trying to teach her to fly and the one where Rabbit is so sad Kessie's leaving MADE the episode.

1) In Aladdin's "The Etheral", the powerful being was on the verge of destroying Agrabah unless the group knew what makes the city great. A building was wrecked and was set to crush a young boy who was too far away from his mother to reach. Princess Jasmine comes to the rescue by pole vaulting over the rubble and gets the boy out of the way in the nick of time only for the building to fall on top of her instead. The sight of her "death" was so devastating to everyone that they hadn't yet realized the Etheral stopped her havoc. When they did, the city was magically restored and the being said that Jasmine understood before reviving her as well. The Princess realized that it's the people that make Agrabah great. And after the Etheral vanished, all the people celebrated on the streets in utter joy. It was one of the few times I actually cried watching a cartoon.

2) In the Codename: Kids Next Door episode "Operation S.P.A.C.E.", Numbuh 5 was battling her sister Cree as she tried to stop her evil plot of sending the KND moonbase into the sun. Observing the fight was Numbuh 3's sister Mushi, who was brought along on the kids' original mission. When Cree was about to deposit Abby out into space, Mushi realizes this was a serious fight and gives a sappy speech about how sisters, no matter what differences they have, should be best friends just as she and Kuki are. From hearing this, the two burst into tears, complement and hug each other. But then #5 pulls a fast one by flipping Cree into the garbage disposal and sends her into space. Mushi sees this and figures older sisters always seem to fall for the sap and as she figures "It must be some hormones or some junk!" :D

3) In The Little Mermaid episdoe "Wish Upon a Starfish", Ariel meets a deaf mermaid named Gabriella and the two go off on an adventure to find a legendary starfish who can grant what they most desire. Ariel wants legs so she can dance and Gabriella wants to hear so she can actually hear music and song. The two find the starfish toward the end of the episode and he uses his magic, but it turns out he has no real powers. Initially disappointed, the mermaids appreciate what they already have in terms of their unique abilities and Ariel breaks into song as Gabriella does her own interpretation with her sign language as the episode ends with the pair side to side with the glowing starfish as he brightens the ocean as they perform. The week after this episode first aired, I learned from watching Entertainment Tonight that the Gabriella character was modeled from a real life young deaf girl who despite her disability was a big fan of The Little Mermaid and her desire to hear music and song was the inspiration for that episode.

Well, for the select few who have seen and enjoyed "The Iron Giant", here's mine:

"You stay, I go." That is, of course, what the Iron Giant says to Howgarth as he prepares to intercept the missle which is bearing down on Rockwell. I love that whole scene so much, where Giant steps back and takes off into the path of the rocket. As he ascends upon the missle, and seeing him close his eyes, and remember what Hogarth said to him, it's just great stuff. "I'm Superman..." and he finally comes in contact with the missle, and explosion, ugh. The sacrifice he made for them, and how well that was told, it really made for a heart warming scene, in a major way, aside from the sadness of it all :D. But then seeing the screw turns on its beacon, and roll on it's way to the Giant's position, ugh, great ending. Yeah, that's as heart warming a moment as I can think of.

Personally, I find this line from Futurama's "Godfellas" to be one fo the most heartwarming things I've heard:

"When you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all."

I don't know if the super-post that kicked this off mentioned this one, but it's on my list with a good-sized chunk of the rest mentioned here.

"Home Sweet Home- Diddily- Dum- Doodily"

Homer looks toward the bank and sighs, "Oh, there's my sweet little Maggie." She looks to his outstretched arms, then over at the Flanders family, who stand clean and dry on the bank with a butterfly flying and rabbit hopping around them. In the water, meanwhile, Homer, Bart, and Lisa look sodden, and a frog jumps out of the water. Maggie starts to walk toward the Flanders, but just then, Marge walks around the corner. Maggie reaches for her mother, and Marge scoops her up and spins around with her in the sunlight.

"Jurassic Bark":

Bender: Please stop crying Fry. Here. [He hands him a coloured hankerchief. And another. And another. Fry carries on pulling them out from Bender's sleeve.] I assumed you were just pretending to love the dog. To toy with my emotions. Oh what have I done?

[He starts to cry.]

Zoidberg: You didn't do anything. Don't beat yourself up.

Bender: Fry, I'm sorry. I should have understood how someone can love an inferior creature. Because I love you. Not in the way of the Ancient Greeks, but in the way a robot loves a human, a human loves a dog and occassionally, a gorilla loves a kitty. [He looks into the lava.] I'm goin' in!

"The Why of Fry"

Fry: Hey Leela. I guess I got this for you.

[He hands her the flower.]

Leela: Oh. Thank you. You know what Fry. I don't care if you're not the most important person in the universe. It really makes me happy to see you right now.

Fry: Then I am the most important person in the universe.

[She kisses him.]

[Closing Credits.]
Fry (over credits): Yes!

That Iron Giant scene was sad for me too....Even tho I have seen that scene about 30 times...Thank you, Iron Giant Marathon...

In the first Rugrats movie where Dil and Tommy finally truly bond in that little cave in the tree, that was just adorable. I keep crying at that part, even to this day.

The last episode of Digimon Tamers was a total tear-jerker. T.T Same with Cowboy BeBop's last ep and "Hard Luck Woman".

For whatever reason, I just remembered this one today. From the Batman Beyond episode "Babel", the one where Shrieve makes everyone in Gotham talk gibberish and then briefly restores order to allow for the announcement that he will throw the city into even worse chaos if Batman isn't delivered to him, no strings attached. Like a sacrifice, more or less. And then the people of Gotham are saying all kinds of ungrateful things on the news, saying Batman should give himself up so they don't all have to suffer. Bruce Wayne calls them "spineless cowards" and says something along the lines of he won't blame Terry if he doesn't give himself up.
Then it shows Terry walking on the street at night, thinking, and there's a flashback to when he found out that his father was murdered, which of course is what caused him to become Batman. Terry's obviously thinking hard about the decision, and about exactly why he's Batman. There's some really powerful music in this part that adds greatly to the impact. Of course, he winds up facing off with Shrieve against all odds.

First off, SirLemming...I love your user pic. Sheer genius, that is.

Thought of another one, and people would probably think it's more sad than heartwarming. It's the scene in The Hobbit where Bilbo and Thorin are making amends and saying goodbye at Thorin's deathbed. I personally think this scene played out better in the movie than it did in the book; there was so much emotion behind it. You could see that Thorin truly respected Bilbo even though he like so many others had underestimated the hobbit, and that they were friends.

:coyote:

I'm a huge Janine/Egon shipper, and I've always thought there wasn't any definitive proof in the cartoon to back me up--looking at fanfiction didn't help this perception. I had no idea this episode existed, and finding out about it has really made my day. I usually have very bad luck picking out couples. :) I do remember the scene in the opening where she gazes dreamily at Egon. That always puts a smile on my face.

I never got into Extreme Ghostbusters. Are Egon and Janine still a couple in that? As a sidenote, I always thought Egon's hair was awesome.

The Lion King When Simba assumes the throne at the end, and it transfers to Simba and Nala dedicating their child. Amazing movie, many scenes from it deserve to be on here but I'll only put this one.

Cars. When Lightning helps the King back onto the track. The connection to Doc's crash made this a great moment of compassion.

Avatar: The Last Airbender. When Aang is reunited with his sky bison, Appa. Aang had been torn to pieces by Appa's kidnapping, and Appa had suffered on his own. Now everything was back together.

I have others, but those are the ones that come to mind.

That movie says a lot to me when I say that scene still, after so many years, STILL breaks my heart.

Others include...

Digimon Season 2: I felt this season was a complete mess and dislike it out of all the Digimon, yet it also contained the episode "Genesis of Evil" which basically told how the character of Ken came to be the way he is. Now, looking back at it now, it's typical angst anime stuff, but back when I was about 12-13 when it aired, I was crying my eyes out because I felt so bad for this kid--then I cried happy tears when he got Wormmon back.

The Simpsons - No other Simpsons episodes makes me as weepy or heartfelt then the ending of "Mother Simpson". The credits music and Homer eyeing the stars is just perfect. I personally enjoy the sad, yet hopeful face Homer has throughout the credit.

Land Before Time - Right after Littlefoot's mother bites the big one with Sharptooth, Littlefoot desperately whispers for his mom in hopes she'll response. She doesn't answer which lets us already know what happened to her. That scene killed me (also that scene where Littlefoot mistaken his shadow for his mom). Though her being "around" Littlefoot throughout the movie made it all the more heartwarming, too.

Okay, so all these are sad, but they're some of the most heartfelt I've ever felt.

Futurama: There's a lot of scenes from Futurama that made me smile and cry.

Time Keeps on Slippin'- The ending where Fry looks sadly at sky, because his message of love to Leela was destroyed.
Love and Rocket- The scene where Fry coughs up a heart that says "You leave me breathless".
Parasites Lost- Fry is playing the holophoner, and a crudely-drawn picture of Leela shows up.
The Luck of the Fryish- Fry decides not to steal the clover from his nephew's grave because he learns that Yancy really did care about him.
Godfellas- "When you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all".
The Sting- The last dream sequence and the ending.
The Why of Fry- Leela giving Fry a kiss after he gives her a flower.
Leela's Homeworld- The little montague at the end.
Jurassic Bark- The sequence where they show that Seymour waited for Fry longer than he thought.

Fruits Basket- Numerous, like Tohru comforting the "monster" Kyo and Hatori's extremely heart-breaking story about Kana.

Digimon 01- When Palmon finally gathers up the courage to say goodbye to Mimi, and Mimi gives Palmon her cowboy hat.

Digimon Tamers- The tamers' digimon are going back to the digital world, Mr. Wong sees Henry (his son) and the others crying. Mr. Wong tries to apologize, but Henry just shakes his head, meaning he doesn't need to apologize.

The Simpsons- The ending to the episode "HOMR" where he writes a letter before his surgery telling Lisa how much more he appreciates her now, after his brief "intelligence".

For now,I'll just stick with Futurama and the Simpsons(two of my faves)...

Futurama moments.....

The endings to....

Luck of the Fryish....Fry finally learns the truth....His brother Yancy didn't steal his name,he named his son "Phillip" in honor of Fry...

Jurassic Bark....Seymour waiting years faithfully for a master who'll never show up...

Leela's Homeworld....Leela finally meets her parents/learns of her origin...and a nice flashback montage of how Leela's parents have always been looking out for her...

The Why of Fry....Fry finally gets a kiss from Leela (I loved when he shouts "YES!!!" over the end credits...

The Sting....Leela finds out she's been in a coma the whole time, and Fry's been keeping a constant vigil....

The Devil's Hands are Idle Playthings....Leela stays to see the rest of Fry's concert, even though he's lost his musical talent...

The Simpsons...

the endings to....

Life on the Fast Lane....I loved Marge ending up going to see Homer at work, and Homer's line "I'm going to the back seat of my car with the woman I love, and I won't be back for 10 minutes!!!"...

Lisa's Substitute....the line "You are Lisa Simpson"

Duffless....Homer going for a bike ride with Marge(and singing "Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head"),instead of drinking at Moe's....

And Maggie Makes Three....Bart asks why there aren't any baby pictures of Maggie, and Homer's reply is "There are pictures...I keep them where I need the most cheering up".....then the scene cuts to his workstation, where he's put up pictures over the plaque Burns gave him (Instead of "Don't forget, you're here forever,it now looks like it says "Do it for her")...

I'll probably add more later...

Kenny's good-bye at the end of the movie

The ending to Bloody Mary....a nice conversation between Stan and Randy...

Pinky and the Brain....the ending to the Christmas special....Brain finds out from reading Pinky's undelivered letter to Santa(minutes before successfully brainwashing the populace into giving him the world),that all Pinky wants is for Brain to be given the world....Brain is so touched,he's unable to take over the world, and just tells everyone to have a Merry Christmas...

The endings to The Nightmare Before Christmas and Corpse Bride....

Nightmare ends with Jack and Sally singing together, and they end up embracing to look at the moon....

Corpse Bride ends with Emily (the Corpse Bride) giving Victor back his ring...Victor reminds her that he made a promise to her,and she replies "You kept your promise, you set me free....now I can do the same for you...."
She walks out of the church, but looks back and tosses her bouquet (which initially ends up with another woman, but when she sees the maggot on her shoulder,it ends up in Victoria's hands),and then suddenly transforms into a flock of butterflies, which fly up against the full moon while Victor and Victoria watch and embrace...

I know this is a rather unorthodox choice, but I really liked the Rocko’s Modern Life episode, Cruisin’. The scene where the old man spoke to Rocko when he chastised old people for being grumpy is what I felt was heart-warming. Sure, the scene might not have lasted that long, but what that old man said to Rocko had to be one of the most serious moments in that show and the musical and scenic affects really helped make the scene all that more interesting. It’s not often the subject of death and lasting loss are mentioned in children’s cartoons, especially in such a tone as they did in that scene, though I suppose there’s no point rambling on about it.
