I found this at Animated News.com (http://www.animated-news.com/). They kind made him look anime-ish, don't ya think? (and now the Man in the yellow hat looks like Dave from Alvin and the Chipmunks)

am I crazy or does George kinda look like Rusty the boy robot?

I think he looks more like he was drawn by that famous anime-animator who did "Wendy's Delivery Service" and "Spirited Away".

Wow, I don’t know what to say about that. The animation looks like it’s going to be nice, but something about it just seems kind of odd. I do agree that the guy looks a lot like Dave now.

..........

wow....

this...this..could be a good sign...not only does it appear to be fluid it shows that Universal Studios could still do animation...

Wendy?

"Kiki's Delivery Service" and "Spirited Away", by Hayo Miyazaki and Ghibli Studio

Not bad! The artists seem to understand George's personality; a bright-eyed toddler intent on exploring *everything*.
If the script is at least this good, this'll be a movie worth the admission price.

I must now give my props to Ron Howard, Imagine Entertainment, and Universal for doing the right thing and making us believe that 2D animation is sometimes better than going full 3D. The stills looks awesome :anime:. This almost makes me forgive them for doing The Cat in the Hat. Almost.

It definetely looks like it has potential, not only to be a good film, but a successful film as well.

It's nice to see that I'm not the only one who finds these images gorgeous. How good the movie itself will be is anyone's guess (Considering the target audience and Universal's past animated track record, I don't have high hopes), but at least 2D theatrical animation is going out looking wonderful.

Now that I think about it, one thing that could be a very big factor in determining how good the movie is is how the plot is handled. It's gonna be difficult to stretch a Curious George story to an hour and a half; even those shorts from the 80's (Anyone else remember the theme song?)were less then ten minutes each. Also, having George talk will be a kiss of death.

Thank god they are making it animation and not live action!

I like it. I used to be a big Curious George fan when I was little and this looks alot better than those eariler Curious George cartoons that I used to watch. I might see it, but only if the plot sounds good.

wow.. That looks really awesome.

I always liked the books when I was little, and the guy in yellow looks good. This looks like a great flim they're making, a lot of potential. Just Wow..

It's not that bad.....It just seems weird, though, for looking at them the old way.

Yeah, I'll give it a chance before I go slamming it. It just might be done right.

At least it's not live action with a CGI George ;)

The animation looks good and I'm hoping it'll do well at the box-office. And at least they kept it animated which is a plus to me.

Considering that Scooby Doo and those Dr. Seuss movies have made a ton of cash...

this should do well...infact even better than well...with the quality and taking time and all...

I wonder if they will give the man in the yellow hat a real name. It would seem stupid if everybody(including his parents) called him "Man in Yellow Hat".

Let's go with a "Far Mer John" approach and call him "Mannin Yell Ohat".

This is easily the best idea the entire universe has ever come up with.

EVER

Discluding Christina Ricci.

It looks great! I remember watching Curious George a while back... I'm not sure if I'd see this is theaters though.

I used to have a stuffed Curious George when I was a kid and now I want another one!

You'll be able to buy one soon. It's a *very* safe bet, the stores will be stocked with CG merchandise by the time this movie is released.

Yeah, but those'll be the talking kind I bet. I'll just go to my local specialty shop and pick up a no-frills version.

I had heard rumors that this would be rated R because they said George finds a hooker monkey.

ehhh.

nice job.

maybe it's time they did update curious george for the 80's.

.. at least now it's only one generation dated, instead of two going on three.
