I often see this term brought up during animation production, especially during feature-length animation... "checking the rushes" and so on.
Is it just a casual term for the checking of all animation, both key and inbetween/cleanup?

I believe that term is used for motion animation when characters walk/run/fly/etc and that the animation is smooth and the movement dosen't look really jerky. At least that's what I think. I could be wrong. If I am, someone please correct me.

"Rushes" is the term used for the day's shooting. Viewed before the takes are edited into the final film. Also called the "dailies"

Ohh, the dailies, of course. Thanks!
