This may be a stupid question, but are there any plans to air Kodomo No Omocha in USA? maybe on Adult Swim? I have read all 10 volumes of the manga and I love it :) LOL Sana is so kewl!!

FUNimation has the anime, so no doubt they're pushing for Adult Swim. I dunno if WS will bite or not though.

They're probably going to keep this as a DVD-only release like with Fruits Basket. I can't see it working on Adult Swim.

Oh, they pushed Fruits Basket for TV too. Failed. But tried.

Did they fail trying to get GXP and Kiddy Grade on TV as well?

Did they fail trying to get GXP and Kiddy Grade on TV as well? Most likely. Funi tries to get stuff on TV while its still fresh, as of now the only exception to that has been BG.

Kodocha, with a handful of edits (I won't list them because I know Lance from Funimation reads the boards,) would work on Miguzi (especially given how much breathing room Lyoko's opened up for them.) However, I guess it would be fine on Adult Swim (something to pair up with Conan if it's still on at that point.)
As to whether WS will bite, will depend on them realizing that Kodocha has the kind of blend fever pace wisecracking and coming of age angst that made FLCL so successful. If they get that, it'll go to AS. If they simply it as a fun show for 6-11 (which in a way, it is,) it'll head to Miguzi. Of course, they might not think it's cool enough, and then it'll be DVD only.

Said they had obtained the rights at Anime Boston, and that they hope to start releasing it stateside summer 2005.

Wasnt that called Childs toy in translation? From what i remmeber there was a stupid cabbit thing and it was all about a 10 year old girl that acted like she was 15. Man that was so weird it makes me wonder if it even excisted.
One minute they were talking about periods, the next minute they were in dojos run by stuffed toys who had come alive..very strange:eek:

If CN accepts it, I'll be a happy camper. I've been waiting to see it for years.
If the Anime Network linear channel expands to get enough coverage, they should try putting it there.:D

Actually, that's a good idea. Given the fanbase, this one might fly better on the Anime Network than on a mainstream station.

Yes, Kodocha can also be called "Child's Toy". As for the "stupid cabbit thing", it's actually a bat named Babbit (because he somewhat resembles a rabbit with the ears). Babbit is only in the anime version of Kodocha (although he is definitely one of the more enjoyable mascot characters of anime).

If this aired on TV I would SO watch... as long as it wasn't the anime channel, I don't get it :(

Do to the range of places this could air, Funimation may end up with multiple shots of getting this on TV due to Miguzi. Since Cartoon Network handles Miguzi acquisitions and not Williams St., Funi can pitch it to both of them.

Funimation goes likely make use of that. I got the impression from the Funi rep that Fruits Basket might have been pitched atleast twice because of all that.
