Ok, something that's been bothering me as I've been watching the series. There seems to be a line that is repeated a lot, something to the effect of "it has three holes, but I really only wanted one". What the heck is this supposed to mean? Or am I just not thinking echi enough?

Heh, you call the "thinking" ecchi? Here's thinking ecchi (http://groups.google.com/groups?q=love+hina+turtle++group:rec.arts.anime.misc+author:baranyi&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&scoring=d&selm=rHr18.21346%24h2c.15439%40news2.bloor.is&rnum=4&filter=0) on Mutsumi calling the Dragon Turtle song from Ep #8: :D

Okay - here are the lyrics from the two-disc
"Love Hina Original Sound File", KICA 523/4, King Records

Deteokure deteokure watashitachi no
negai kotomo sono koura o hito kosureba kanau
kame yo

tondeyuuke tondeyuuke myuttonaite
sono ryoute o patapata sase asu no yume ni mukau
kame yo

( the lyrics don't include Mutsumi's monologue here )

sachiokure sachiokure tsurai toki mo
sono zuminaki mataegao ni namida ga dechaimasu
kame yo

- They use some funny readings of the kanji in the lyrics - for example, for
"yume", they use the kanji for "kibo" ( wish ) and put the furigana for
"yume" over the kanji.

The joke of the song, of course, is that it's an onsen song, with lots of
"dirty" implications and double meanings, in both the lyrics and in
Mutsumi's monologue. The turtle, of course, sticks it's head of of the
shell - and Mutsumi starts to pant over how "big" it is. The lyrics in the
first verse are about rubbing the turtle's shell and making it come out. And
in the second verse it mentions "using both hands". The final verse speaks
of the happiness of the hardness.

Don't forget, "Love Hina" was a late night anime. (L)

BTW - the title is : "The Legend of the Hot Springs Turtle"
