VH-1's ILL-ustrated is currently the HIGHEST RATED show on the network. This animated sketch show is quickly becoming a big hit. This is the kind of show you can watch with your buddies and just laugh at the stupid and inane humor. It's like an animated SNL, Did anyone catch the Harry Potter parody on ILL-ustrated a while ago:p

Why are people watching this? The pop-culture parodies on this show are less funny than the Simpsons's.

It features Mike Moore in the opening theme...

that alone should damn the creators to the farthest reaches of dertriot...

Besides there Sentai Bush thing was of utter tasteless-ness

and very bad when compared to other sentai parodies...

Heck I could plan better skits, infact I KNOW I can do better skits...

I really don't like Ill-ustrated. I find it mostly simpleminded, vulgar trash. Then again, like an animated SNL indeed.

Eerily enough, I agree.

This show in my opinion is pretty funny as heck. Couple nights ago I saw an episode with Goku and the gang of DBZ killing the nascar fan with the help of Pikachu, and Speed Racer. That alone made me like the show.

I've watched the show and fail to find it funny for some reason. Its like the timing is always off. For political and pop culture satire, watch South Park. They at least know how to make it work. VH1's weak attempt at comedy is horrible. Considering their overplay of the "I love the 70s/80s/90s" series, I'm not surprised people are tuning into this. Its the only thing refrences something that is not decades old!

i wouldnt be suprised if the creators eventually create some really popular cartoon along the lines of R&S and Spongebob (stupid humor) - an original idea too not some sketch thing

I can't stand this show, it seems to be consciously and purposefully unfunny.

Eh, it's a mixed bag. Most skits are dumb, but there are some good ones, like the Harry Potter skit..

Let's look at this again. It's the highest rated show on VH1.

Does that really make it a good show? I don't know. Actually, I really don't know. I haven't watched it yet. I'm just saying that VH1 sucks, except for maybe one or two shows.

Heh, that's a very good point, Mog.

The very words "Frat Humor" together scare me off. Frat humor makes me want to vomit(an act which, ironically, also counts as frat humor).

Believe it or not, the last time I had cable, VH1 carried music. What do they tell people their initials stand for now? "Uh, Vehicular...hippo.........onederful."

Video Herpes #1

all that VH1 is, is for people who wish MTV2 would play more 80's rock because they used to watch MTV2 when it took away MTV's inital purpose...which was to show music videos...

is anyone seeing a chain effect?

Vh1's programming base is trying to incorporate a pop culture savvy lure. With shows such as "The Best Week Ever," "I Love the 90s," "ET on VH1," and "Ill-ustrated," its obvious that the network is not just trying to play music. They want to get the buzz off of people's lips and onto the screen. To say the entire network is doing terrible is a little off. To say this show is the highest rated show, is just bizzare! While much of their entertainment industry oriented programming can be group into this antropological, cultural mirror, I cannot believe that such a poor attempt to capture our world is gettiing the most views. As a matter of fact, I refuse to believe it until I see some numbers. Where was the press release to verify it is the highest rated? Also, we need some perspective. Was it the highest rated for the week, weekend, month, quater?

Just google search the words "ILL-ustrated- Highest Rated show". Bob Cesca (Creator) also came out and said that ILL-ustrated was the highest rated show on VH1.;)

ILL-istrated itself made fun of VH1's lack of music (VH1, where music came first...now it's 5th, or maybe 12th) and their preoccupation with count down specials (50 most best celebrity buttcracks). So it being number one isn't much.

I like "Best Week Ever" better.

I, for one, like this show: Yes, there are some stupid sketches (Almost anything where they make fun of Michael Jackson) but there are some geniunely funny bits (like the 'Trex Rodent' shouting "LIVE FREE OR DIE!").

I have to agree about that. That segment alone had me laughing for an half hour. Until I saw the Speed Racer segment, with him fighting agansit Nascar fans.
