What is the latest cartoon you can think of that features black caricatures? The latest one I can think of is the 1954 Donald Duck cartoon SPARE THE ROD, which is heavily censored on the Disney Channel from 7 to 2 minutes. If Disney was going to censor this short, they might just as well not show it at all.

I don't know if this counts, but the Popeye cartoon "Penny Antics" (1955) contains clips from 1940's cartoons with black caricatures in them.

I'd rather have nobody show them than butcher the cartoon...

I've heard Spare The Rod is cut so badly that its like a minitoon rather than a cartoon :P

But thats mostly cause of the pygmy refs....

I believe the last appearance of Tom & Jerry's "Mammy two-shoes" was in 1952's PUSH-BUTTON KITTY.

By the way, have any of you seen what Turner did to the 1951 HIS MOUSE FRIDAY in its video release? It was left entirely uncut, but with Jerry and the Cannibals' dialog muted!
Senseless....wish I could lip-read!

you can't forget the riddiculous edit of the "Sunflower" centaur characature in "Fantasia". They cropped all the scenes, or cut them out, or digitally edited them, and they think no one will notice!!! BULL(crap)!!!! (Screw) THOSE MONEY MAD DISNEY CORPORATE (MORONS)! They went and ruined Walt Disney's favorite masterpiece!

Im sorry, im a little touchy about this subject. Fantasia was a masterpiece. the TRUE fantasia, that is, before michael eisner got scissor happy! that heartless jerk can scissor off his penis, and no one would notice.

Please Betaman8, we don't want that kind of language here, even if you self-censor it as you did. I understand your anger, but there are more constructive ways to express it.

Yes, I just got a message about that. Looks like you got it, Brian.

The last cartoon that had black charactures was made in 1958 -- Paramount Studio's "Chew Chew Baby" which manages not only to have the charactures, but to throw in cannibalism to boot.

This cartoon was part of the Harveytoon package sold to ABC-TV the year after it was made, and later was part of the syndication package, but AFAIK, it never aired on New York's WNEW-TV after they acquired the rights in 1962, even though the cartoon was made in New York. (I don't know if it aired on the "Matty's Funday Funnies" show on ABC, but I really kind of doubt it).
