...I used to dislike cgi animation but when I saw some scenes from Batman Vengeance I thought it would be cool...

I like it the way it is. With the occasional CGI effect for exposions and such.

I remember disliking the cg stuff they threw in Batman & Mr. Freeze: SubZero, I guess it could be done right but I think it'd be better to just stick with 2d animation, but your right abot vengence's cg scenes looking slick, with dini behind a cg series it might work...

i think that comic book superhero adaptions are always best suited with the good ol' traditional cel animation. it's imo the best way to translate the comic feel and style..i like the concept of using something inovative like cgi for shows. it does look really cool and it's trying something different, which i have absolutley nothing against. i think though that this style is best suited with shows like reboot and transformers, which features non human charecters and creatures. it looks alot better than the attempts at actual human characters, which still look a little too much like high tech marionettes on tv grade cgi shows.

The only way I like to see CG techniques used is like in Blood: the Last Vampire or BB:RotJ. Mainly just used for digital coloring and atmosphere. Those two shows had some very rich colors. But leave the characters hand drawn, they have much more life and fluidity that way.

(Besides it keeps Timm, Murakami, and Glines in business!!)

Digital coloring I can get used. The eventually got it right in Batman Beyond and they will be using it in Justice League. I didn't really like the CGI stuff thrown in Sub-Zero except for the Batwing sequences. A fully CGI show would just feel weird and not right. It wouldn't be the true animated style, in my eyes.

I agree with the posters here, give me cel animation and then enhance it with CGI if you have to. I like what Pixar does, but I don't want to see it brought to Timm's universe. Leave it for the video games.

I agree. I remember how the cars in Sub-zero looked like boxes. Speaking of Sub-zero it was on last Friday and I forgot to tape it!! I guess I'll just wait till its on DVD next spring.

The thing that really irked me about the CGI in Sub-Zero was the CGI person putting mail in the mail box or something. It's during the chase scene and it just looked really, really bad.

I liked the CGI in Subzero, but I do agree that it can get a little excessive. The CGI models I saw in Subzero didn't move too much, so it didn't bother me. I think our Batman/Superman stories work better in regular pen and ink animation, as goes for any animation.
