Cartoon Network Continues Strong Year, Racks Up Delivery Gains
in All Key Demos in October

Network Also Posts Largest Net Total Day Delivery Increase of Adults
18-34 YTD

Cartoon Network concluded the October 2001 ratings period with
significant gains in all target demographics. The all-animation
network also landed in third place for both total day (1.1, tied with
Lifetime) and prime time (1.7, tied with TNT and ESPN) household ratings among ad-supported cable networks. Year to date, Cartoon Network maintains its third-place position in both ratings races, posting a 1.1 total day household rating, equal with last year's performance, and a 1.7 prime time household ratings, off just 6 percent vs. last year. Cartoon Network also earned the largest year-to-date net total day delivery increase (+45 percent, up 54,000) of adults 18-34 (174,000 viewers) among ad-supported cable networks. In addition, Cartoon Network claims the largest year-to-date
net total day delivery increase of any ad-supported cable network
with kids 2-11 (+25 percent, up 133,000 to 672,000 viewers) and kids 6-11 (+32 percent, up 92,000 to 376,000 viewers). October programming highlights include Toonami, the network's weekday action-adventure block, which averaged a 1.9 household rating and delivered 1,512,000 homes, an increase of 19 percent and 38 percent, respectively, vs. the same time period last year. Dragon Ball Z(M-F, 6 p.m.), anchor of the Toonami franchise, scored as October's highest-rated animated program among all cable networks on Tuesday,Oct. 16, with a 3.1 household rating.

Additional October programming highlights include highest-ever
ratings performances by several of Cartoon Network's newest original series. Samurai Jack earned a 2.2 household rating on Sunday, Oct. 7, at 8
p.m., its highest rating to date. Delivery also set a new record for the series, with 1,716,000 homes tuning in. The same telecast earned

Samurai Jack its highest kids 6-11 (1,037,000) and tweens 9-14
(665,000) deliveries yet. Time Squad earned its highest tweens 9-14 rating and delivery since its premiere on Friday, Oct. 5, at 10 p.m. The program scored a 5.0 rating and delivered 907,000 viewers. And Grim & Evil earned its highest household (2.0), kids 6-11 (4.9), and tweens 9-14 (4.4) ratings to date on Friday, Oct. 5, at 10:30 p.m.
