I got to drive for the first time today. I've been waiting so long to be able to drive, and my mom gave me my frist driving lesson today. I drove circles around an empty parking lot, and though it sounds boring, it was exciting to get to drive for the first time.

I just randomly felt like sharing:p

I remember the first time I drove. *sigh* It was like 2 months ago. My first lesson I drove around the parking lot. The next lesson my driving instructor bribed me onto the road (with actual drivers! ) with chocolate ice cream. My third lesson I was on the highway! They said I did pretty good to never have been behind the wheel before.

All I can say to you is, Good luck on those turns! ;)

Because I can't think of anything to say, here are some driving quotes from comedian Don Gavin:
-"I'm a bad driver. I read."
-"Last year, I got in 11 accidents. I came in 5th in the state."
-"Last year, I hit a guy. He was in his, uh, living room."

Oh well, have fun with driving and hope you don't get in any accidents.

Just wait for your first time driving a stick. That's quite an enchanting experience.

I've been driving for over a year now, and don't forget "With great power comes great responsibility.":)

I got my permit a few months ago........I really have to say I honestly hate driving.....in parking lots and empty back roads in the middle of nowhere is cool, but on actual roads, with maniac drivers that belong in a mental ward...........stressful.

Hmm. Cool, congrats to all the new drivers.. More people I have to watch out for when driving. :p

I remember when I started driving for the first time, it's always fun, and you really become attentive when driving, or well at least I did. Good times.

The first time I ever drove a car was about a month ago. I was in the parking lot of "Sears" and my father let me drive around the place for a few minutes in circles and I tried to park into a space. (I drove without my permit yet. ) Man, do I suck!! I come from a family of really good drivers, yet I was horrible on my first try. I know it was the first time, but I could have done better. I'm 16 and I CAN get my permit, but my parents are pissing me off by procrastinating on driving school! Now that school ended for me yesterday, I want to spend the summer practicing when I get my permit.

But from that first experience, I'm deeply disturbed. I did atrociously for a first try. And you don't want my father as a teacher. He gets impatient too fast. I remember when my father taught my brother how to drive stick. Man, was that an experience. When my father offered to teach me how to drive stick when I'm 17, I quickly refused. I'll ask my brothers to do so.

Galvatron: yeah, well, I've been driving since I was five!

....if wer're talking about dirt bikes.

...which we're obviously not. So I guess you win.

The first time I drove a car was a few years ago, when I was 15 or 16. It was a standard, and I did ok. Then I didn't drive again for a few years (which I regret) and the next time I tried to drive, it was the same car, but I was too distracted by the passenger (my brother) and all his instructions and so on. He just wouldn't shut up, and I'm not good at ignoring people. I'd love to drive "stick" again, though. Especially if it's a Nissan 350z or Mazda rx-8 :D

I didn't get my permit till I was 19 (which I regret - I wanna drive :(!), and I'll be getting my licence in July. I'd get it sooner but one of the (two?) driver examiners here is on stress leave for a few weeks  (probably the fault of some friends I saw at the examiner's office the other day :p ).

I remember driving for the first time kinda scary. I would like to know how someone could start driving at age 6.

I'm 16 now so I could get my permit. Actually. I think we're going by the DMV today to see about getting driver's info for me to study. I'm supposed to take driver's ed at the end of the summer, but I might not because of prior softball commitments.

I'm scared to get into traffic, though I can't wait until I can drive myself to school and practice.
