The Pistons won! I for one am glad the Lakers got their pervebial "Asses beat." Since I hate the Lakers... Anyway, what'd you think of the final game? Did you see how bad the Lakers got beat? Does this belong on the Entertainment Fourum? (I never go there so I wouldn't know) Post your thoughts or close it if it's in the wrong Forum.

I'm glad the title has gone back to the east but I'm sad Karl Malone still hasn't one a championship...

Yeah, Malone and Payton getting their rings was gonna be my consolation when the Lakers won (since I hate 'dynasties') but I'm even happier seeing the east take back the crown :D

Plus, if they got their rings like that, it just wouldn't be fair to Sir Charles, who tried the same thing, but made the mistake of joining a team that didn't have Michael Jordan on it, when Jordan was still in his prime...

Yeah that's the whole reason he was on the Lakers. I don't feel bad, because he sighned a deal with the Devil Lakers just to win, kinda selfish. (Even though he deserves a championship)I know. He turned down millions of dollars to play for something with no monetary value at all. Maybe he could have pawned off the ring, but still. Who would turn down so much money to play on a team with no chance at even making the playoffs, even if he is going to retire soon. It boggles the mind. :D

I think he made the right decision, just luck wasn't on his side. Maybe next year.

It would be nice to see some new teams start winning NBA Championships for a change. Other than San Antonio several years ago, when was the last time that a team that had never been to the NBA Finals before went and won??? :(

Dynasties seem way to easy to come by in the NBA...

Gah! I'm mad that the Piston's won. I don't think they diserve the title. THey knocked the Pacers out of the COnference Finals and by using cheap shots too. Then they did the same to the Lakers.

The Lakers were even tryin' their hardest and they couldn't win.

I'm just making excuses to make the Pistons seem bad cause I was pissed off that the Pacers(my home team) did not make it.:D

I usually like other teams besides my home team. Like the Mavericks for instince, I love the Mavericks, but they're not my home team. I try to vary alot.

That's how I used to be too until the Pacers actually started playing good one or two years ago. I was a big fan of New York.

Yeh, that's probably it. I was born in New York City so I love the Yankees more than the Mets.

The Yankees remind me of the Lakers for some reason...The Lakers are the Yankees of basketball (and the Yankees are the Lakers of baseball). The Lakers & Yankees are each the team that is most identified with their respective sport. Nobody is neutral on either of them; and whether you love 'em or hate 'em, everybody wants to see them -- either to see them win, or to see them get beaten.

I remember reading an article a year or two back that said that the Lakers sell out literally every arena they play in, at home or on the road; it said that cities that normally are unable to fill half their seats at home games will sell every seat when the Lakers are in town. I mean, is there any more frequently heard chant in the NBA than "BEAT L.A.!"? And the TV ratings for the Finals are much higher -- nationwide, not just in L.A. -- when the Lakers are there than when anyone else is.

So naturally, the commissioners of their respective sports just LOVE the Yankees & the Lakers, because they draw the fans and their $$$ like no one else can. We adore these two teams, or else we abhor them, but we don't ignore them.

(BTW, for me it's: love the Lakers, can't stand the Yankees. :) )

I always go for the underdogs! I watch to see both the Yankees (in MLB) and the Lakers (in the NBA) get beaten! Mwa-ha-ha!

I've especially loved the NFL in the last decade because lots of new teams have been going, and winning. Back in the 90's, I used to feel the same way about the Cowboys as I do about the Yankees and Lakers now. But I think the Cowboys have learned their lesson, so I'm ready for them to start winning again. ;)

Same goes for the Canadiens in the NHL -- geez, how many Stanley Cups have they won?

But I always cheer for new and underdog teams to win in the NFL, NBA, MLB, and NHL! I want teams who have never been to the championship before to go, and win it all! :D

Actually I was thinking of payrolls bloated to epic proportions by overpriced talent that doesn't play well with others... but yeah, there is the Dynasty thing too I guess.

Then probably a better choice would be either the Dallas Mavericks or the Sacramento Kings..

The Lakers have no financial flexibility.. with Just ShaQ's contract.. I mean they got GP and Malone for 6 million combined..

No way they're like the Yankees whose payroll is like almost 100 million more than 25 of the baseball teams.. George buys who he wants, Dr. Buss doesn't exactly do that.
