Well, it's that time again for our next bi-weekly Fresh Question. Just a reminder that our news page (http://www.searth.net/wfnews) will be getting revamped and a new URL. Stay tuned! Anyways, here's the question:

If there was any current Batman villian you'd "Beyondize", who would it be and why?

I would like to see the Riddler. But he would have to come after Bruce had passed away. This way Terry could put his mind to the ultimate test and just not have Bruce tell him all the answers. Anyone else agree?

The Riddler came to mind first too.

Penguin was one we never got to see "Beyondized." He would also be one of my top choices.

You know, I liked the Batman Beyond comic book, but it wasn't great. I think they wasted away most of the issues with lame stories. They could have so gotten into "Beyondizing" some of these characters that never made it on to the TV show and made the comic book so much better. *sigh* When will they ever learn.

Hopefully, the animated version of the JLA comic book will be better.

Definitely the Riddler. I want Terry to match wits with someone, for Christ's sake! :)

Seriously, he just keeps fighting without thinking... I find it quite annoying at times. I wonder if he'd have been able to cope with the menace Nygma can represent.

I agree, I would like to see Riddler face Terry.
But I would also like to see him go up against Two-Face. It'd be interesting to see how Terry would deal with him.

Hey:

I would like to see the Scarecrow face Terry, it would be interesting to see Terry act if he got infected by the gas, like Bruce did in the first episode of the Scarecrow on BTAS. I think that the name of the episode was called "Perchance to Scream", but anyways I would like to see Terry yell at his visions that he was Batman, and that he knew they were fake, like Bruce did in that very episode.

Actually, the first Scarecrow episode was called NOTHING TO FEAR. The other episode, PERCHANCE TO DREAM, was Mad Hatter episode.

Yep...My first thought was Scarecrow too. Mostly because I would love to see how they would draw him. He has had so many different "looks" in the past (kinda like Brainiac) and he is one of those villains who always gives me a slight chill! Good question. :-)

Hey:

Thanks for correcting my mistake, now I know where I got the title"Perchance to Scream" I got it from a Batman game on the Super Nintendo, where you fight the Scarecrow and the name of the Level is "Perchance to Scream" the game is the best Batman Game out there.

The Riddler would be rather cool to see "beyondized", but I had this idea of a reapearance of Clayface...maybe to co-villain with Inque. I don't really know how the story should be, but maybe something with them teaming up because Inque manipulates Clayface to belive that they are on the same side, but eventually Clayface realizes that Inque is a bad rolemodel and blah blah because they are so different in nature and so on.......I think you know what I'm talking about.

I like that idea a lot. I've love to see CLayface, with or without Inque, doesn't matter to me. Either would be great. Although if Inque would be to manipulate Clayface, I'd want it to be less than that, and really more of "tricking" him. I only say that because I like Clayface better, and I'd want his character to shine through more. Heck he's got more experience being a shape shifter for one, right? :)

The Ventriloquist - why? Cos' because he's an oddball and oddballs make for good dialogue and someone had already said the Scarecrow. Plus the Ventriloquist was created by a Brit so I'm being patriotic too. Nah!

Hey, I think Roxy Rocket would be perfect for Terry to face. She could have this whole Retro-future-as-seen-from-the-Fifties thing going.

Though she seemed to be a one-note character in Batman (hm, even though she was in Nighttime . . .), I think she could be more at home in the future.

Hello!

Ras-al-ghul every time for me (did I spell that right?) It'd be great to see him matching his wits with Bruce again - and whilst Ras and Bruce are having a battle of wits, Terry and the lovely Talia can duke it out (presuming, like her father, Talia has retained her youth!) Also, imagine Terry's surprise when he sees Talia's passion for old Brucey... Priceless! ;)

Talia and Ra's did show up on BBeyond, I think.

That said, I'd like to see Anarky. :D

Definetly Scarecrow. since my fave villian, bane, was already seen (and in a pathetic state too! how dare they ruin him like that!! ) in Beyond, i'd like to have seen the scarecrow. course, I always thought of Spellbinder as the Scarecrow of Batman Beyond, but I guess he's more of the Hatter Beyond.

I would have to say Two Face, because of his relationship with Bruce as Harvey Dent. Or the Clock King, anybody remember him?

i would like to see them ALL beyondized! however, i must say one thing. not many of the original villians could be capable of such things. the reason they chose freeze and ra's was because they could still actually be alive. i liked what they did with bane too, because you finally saw a villian that was paying for the choices he made. i think that the only one who could live long enough for them to face terry would be clayface. also, i think that they could bring back poison ivy. have her still be alive because of her "immunity" to toxons, poisons, and the like.

Inque

Definitely Clayface!

Yeah, I agree. The original villains that were most suited to being "beyondized" have already made their appearances. Thus far, it's worked perfectly, but if more BTAS villains were to appear in BB a lot of realism would be lost. Actually, there is one great choice that be Hardac. I don't know if that's spelled correctly, but it would be great to see that computer program/system resurface. That's about it, though. I don't know if there'd be any other that could realistically appear in the future.

Hardac, which is the correct spelling, would not be a good choice to be beyondized because it was basically a giant machine running a bunch of androids. Besides, they already tried the andriod thing with "Terry's Friend Dates A Robot". The only possible way that Hardac could come back is if the Batman/Bruce android survived. Then he could take over the new Batsuit and destroy the entire city! Hmmmm, that doesn't sound too bad at all actually.

One more villian that could come back ( though I doubt anyone would want her to) is the daughter of Farmer Brown. After all, she does have all of those hormones in her. It could have had an interesting affect on her body in the future.

Many thanks, Fish - as always you are both a luminary and a gentleman. Sadly I only have about twelve episodes on video/DVD (all season 1), so I haven't had the opportunity to see that one yet. Looking forward to it though! http://cwm.ragesofsanity.com/cwm/cwm/evil3.gif

What about those classic villains like Lock-up, The Terrible Trio, or Baby-face (or was it Doll-face? Can't quite remember...). Wouldn't it just be a hoot to see them again? Wouldn't it? It wouldn't? Oh, I'm sorry... What was I thinking..?

Actually, I liked the Lockup episode a lot. Don't remember the Terrible Trio, though.

Clayface

Definitely Clayface, of course! But what'd I'd like to see is a "Clayface vs. Inque" story, rather than a "Clayface joins up with Inque" story. Just imagine the possibilities! The whole story could be a cat and mouse game, with Inque hunting Clayface (for whatever reason). Her hunting him, him using his abilities to hide from her. And then a battle royale with each one trying to out shape-shift the other! That would be incredible!
