More World Tour Arc!
Gargoyles "Grief"
The gang arrives in Egypt where they find the Pack, including an upgraded Coyote, working for the Emir who is trying to get the God Anubis to bring his son back to life. Unfortunately Jackal has other plans...
If the episode has aired on ABC Family it's fair game. If not SPOILER BOXES!!!
Holla back! What What?

Well, I have no idea if this episode has been on ABCFamily yet, so, to ere on the side of caution, I'll use spoiler boxes, though sparingly.
It's been a while since I've seen this ep, but since I've seen them all a million times, what the heck? I remember when I first saw this episode and how Angela's first comment stuck out in my mind. about how the Sphinx resembled a gargoyle. Ohh, the possibilities....
I always liked The Pack as adversaries. They always gave Goliath & Co. a run for their money, and this was no exception. Coyote kicked butt. He keeps getting better and better.
This episode also finally revealed that gargoyles aged half as fast as humans Certainly something that came in handy in this particular episode. Also interesting to see an ancient-looking Goliath, Angela, and Bronx
The animation for this episode was great, but Anubis's animation was just wonderful, especially Jackel's transformation scene.
Gargoyles fans will note that this Emir is the same Emir that was mentioned in The Edge. Also, the Emir was played by Tony Shalhoub of "Monk."
Ok, so maybe those spoiler boxes weren't used so sparingly.

Those who've seen Monk will note TS has some type-casting issues, which isn't a bad thing since he plays that kind of character well. :) As a Stargate: SG1 fan, I have to say I appreciated the Egyptian mythology in this ep. As a Beauty & the Beast fan (80's tv show and Disney), I loved hearing Tony Jay's wonderful voice, again.

-Great animation
-Tony Jay just owns when he does the voice work for the antagonist (Shere Khan, anyone?), and he definitely owned as the voice of Anubis.
-Very dark and serious tone throughout.
-Goliath and Angela don't age well. :)

This is one of my favorite Pack and Avalon Ep. The animation was top notch, the story was interesting AND relevant to the plot (Xanatos' fear of death and trying to circumvent it)
Plus it let Gargoyles deal with mortality (granted it had to be muted somewhat)
A+
When I first saw this episode, the scenes where Jackal/Anubis was killing everything was burned into my memory. God those scenes rocked.

Greg's big regret about this episode, was that there should have been a scene where Goliath and crew get shot, only to show that no dies while Anubis is imprisioned.
Would the scene most likely be similar to the Family Guy episode "Death Is A B****"? You know, like the scenes with Peter putting himself at risk, only to come out alive?

Interesting episode that's for sure.
I think one of the most emotionally interesting parts of the episode was when Anubis told the Emir that his son was gone, and that he needed to learn to let go.
