OK I've had it!
I know this has nothing to do with animation or anything but I'm gonna post it anyways!
oK now. I have a dog. She is like 6 months old and is still a puppy.Well the problem is that one of our neigbours are calling the animal control and police on her because she barks! And I'm telling you, YES ofcourse she barks! it's a dog and that is what they do best! but she does not bark for 30 minuttes without stop - or for 15 minuttes when ppl are going to bed, because I have been paying attention to what she does because I wanted to avoid the police dragging me to court. We even buildt a fence for her so she wouldn't have to be on a leash!
I've been listening to all the other dogs in the neigbourhood and the bark maybe even more than my mut! And since I am home all day and night I know that my dog is not barking all the time!
Actually she is a very quiet dog and never barks at people.

What do people do to make their dogs quiet here in the states huh?? Do they rip out the dogs vocal courts??? Or shock it to death so it won't dare to bark anymore?
And what do I do now when I start in college and I'm away from home for like 6-7 hours and can't control the dog? Man I tell you. I am not the one with a problem!!!
I have my suspicion on one of our neigbours and that is because he works at night and sleeps during day - and is that my fault that people and dogs live their lives during the day and yes - kids and dogs and Fish like me do make noise during the day!
i*m just SO MAD **HATES PPL**

please all who bothered to read this rant - what am I supossed to do? I probably take more care of my dog than most people take care of their children!

Angry cheers from

Can they really do anything leagally? Man, I hear dogs barking all the time in my neighborhood and don't even give it another thought. Dogs barking and kids playing...those are sounds you just tend to hear but ignore because they are so common and every day. Maybe this person has something else on their agenda against you?

well, if you're home all day..this is what I do:

when my dog has to go to the bathroom, I put her oustside, wait for her to go and then bring her back in. She looks outside and barks at any ppl..and that's pretty much it..

if your dog isn't doing anything that earns a police call, then I'd say you should call the police on your neighbors for false calls on a dog that obviously doesn't bark!

Phew..I just got hot under the collar..I'm done now.. :)

Maybe I should call the police on my dog, because I (and the rest of my family) am the only one she barks at! Never strangers, or visitors, just members of the house.

Anyway, we taught our dog the meaning of the words "Be Quiet" and "Shut Up". :) She now almost listens.

However, little dogs tend to bark more, but because they're so little the barks aren't very loud.

Ok, so after all that randomness....tell the people to beat it. Barking dogs, especially in neighborhoods where you can build a fence around your yard, are common. Those people should have expected something similar as soon as they bought the house.

I dont think there's anything the SPCA can do about barking and besides, it doesnt sound like it's a major problem. It just sounds like you have a crappy neighbor (which I've had plenty of experience with). And I dont know where you live, but if you're in the city, the police wont even pay attention to a call like that. Maybe you should try to talk with the neighbor and see what they're problem is. If there's a legitimate problem, maybe you can work out a solution. If it just seems the person hates you or dogs and is just blowing smoke. I say screw 'em. Record your dogs barking and megaphone it straight into the person's house. (Although I'm sure that'd get you in trouble, it'd be fun :D )

Oh, I see some serious mental problems that could develop due to his actions. Your neighbor should see his Vet as soon as possible.

Just let it do its duty all the time. And talk nicely to it and he/she will stop barking. That's what happened with my dog. Just be nice to it and don't leave it outside forever. And tell you neighbors to stick it where the sun don't shine.

I know that sometimes these neighbor situations can go a tad too far. When I was a kid, we had a neighbor that poisoned our dog rather than deal with his problem like an adult. And my sister had her landlord (and neighbor) leave his....well, how do I put this and not be gross....he left his #2 on the carpet of my sister's apartment and tried to get her to blame it on her dog so she'd get rid of the dog. Some people need more help than the dogs with the anxiety problems!

If your dog is new, and is barking while you are away, it might be that they are lonely or unfamilar with their surroundings still and have anxiety. Hopefully it will subside, but perhaps the best thing to do is just get another dog!

My dog is missing right now because of my neighbors dogs. They've been getting into my yard and fighting him. Then the other night they showed him how to get out. They're still hanging around the neighborhood, but he's gone.

Right now I'm sad, but it's turning into mad, everytime I see his dogs running around. I understand how hard it is to keep a dog in the yard once he's figured out how to get out, but when they caused my dog to disappear I ran out of patience. I'm not gonna poison them, but I will call the pound.

Thanks for all the replies.
I think I am no closer to a sollution than I was before but I can tell from the posts that I should not be taking this from "%&#"¤ our neigbour. I only hope she will be more quiet when she grows older...but the last dog I had only got louder the older she got:rolleyes:
Or else...I'm gonna invite you all to attend the court meeting :-D
