I've been thinking about some of the cartoons I kinda like but aren't really popular and was wondering why they can't have a "makeover" or some kind of change that'll make them better?

These were the shows I thought that need a makeover:

Teamo Supremo
Okay, okay. It's 3 kids fighting crime with hi-tech toys. I like that. But the villians and stories are so lame! What I would do to make this show better is:

-Have much better stories. Some of the episodes were worth watching. I wonder how much time did the writers spent on the ideas? 15 minutes?
-Have more darker villians. I mean the "Put-Down Artist" and the "Birthday Bandit"?! Who came up with those? These villians should be trying to destorying the world not making fun of the citizens. T_T The only villians I thought were actually worth seeing were Technor, Electronica, the Sinister Stylist, Lazar Pirate, and Madame Snake. Make those guys more evil and make to do real crimes, then maybe those guys could be REAL villians
-They should get rid of those battle cries, it's very annoying.

Robot Jones
Don't get me wrong. I thought it was a great show. I love the idea of the show and the characters. The only things I would change are:

-To put back Robot's original robot voice. The new voice is so lame! >_<
-To have some more unqiue stories. All of the stories of the episodes I've seen so far were good but maybe
-To have it better drawn. The original animation of the show is fine, but I wonder what would it be like if the style was improved a little.

Rainbow Brite
My memory's a bit rusty on this show(All I can remember is watching the Rainbow Brite movie) But here's one I would change about this show:

-Instead of her being a girl bringing color to the world, make her a superhero. Either that or make her a Salior Moon knock-off. :D And make her side-kick a cute little animal like a kitty or a bunny with cute little wings.

Well, that's it for me. What show do you guys think should have a "makeover" or just have a few changes to make it better?

I agree that the stories could be better, but as for the villains, I don't think that the lamer ones are intented to be taken seriously. The overall tone of the show is meant to be light-hearted and humorous.

If the Fairly Oddparents had better designs, more likable characters, and actual variety in the plots, it might actually make for an okay show.

The new TMNT could be better if it was more like the original, not just another psuedo-anime knock-off.

I'm not sure what the point of saying "this cartoon would be better if it had better stories" is. Wouldn't any cartoon be better with better stories, by definition? I'd like to hear some elaboration. :)

I can't help but think "my life as a teenage robot" would've been better done with a darker, more elaborate animation style and perhaps giving someone like Joss Whedon or Greg Weisman a head writer position, both are known for strong female leads and stories that go deeper than your average Powerpuff girls episodes

I kinda thought the PPG is light-hearted and humorous show and they're able to have villians that act like real villians.

Speaking of PPG, there are two things I wanted to change for PPG:

1)The character design of Him- I feel uncomfortable every I look at his design. It screams something but it's not evil.... He should have looked more like some kind of demon child or something.

2)The Rowdyruff Boys return during either season 3 or before the PPG movie. Even though I glad for the return of the RRB, I've always wonder why they waited to have them return during season 5...

I think Him's character design is brilliant. C'mon, what can beat evil transvestite Santa Claus (Satan Claws?) :D

As for the RRB's return, yes, I think that that was a big mistake. They were much better as one-shots, and I didn't even like their original ep that much.

Well, that's in your opinion not mine....

What I meant was that RRB's return is so late. I felt that it would have been much better if the RRB return during season 3.

I don't wanna soud like a broken record, but...

Hey Arnold!: What was the whole point of the ending to "Rhonda's Glasses"? To recap, they show her wearing these:

(Taken from Don's site, of course)

You'd expect something of a makeover in the subsequent eps, but in the two eps that come right after the ep in production order ("New Teacher" and "What's Opera, Arnold?"), she can be seen specs-less. This oversight is most glaring in "Cool Party". This is a picture of her at a party for geeks:

(Apologies for the small size) Note that she is not wearing glasses even here. Not her geeky ones from "Rhonda's Glasses", and not her newer ones from the end of that ep. IMO, Rhonda needed a makeover after that ep, and Snee Oosh was too busy trying to maintain the status quo to care.

The awnser to these questions are simple. When an animation character gets glasses and no longer wears them after that episode is because they clearly got contacts. That's the best awnser of them all :P

That's the answer I've always gotten. But if they were going to give her contacts, why not have Rhonda wearing them in that final scene? It's better than showing her in a new pair of glasses exactly once.

Well I can understand the different shows that might need makeovers (Like Hey Arnold!, Rainbow Brite, and Teamo Supremo, but I'm going to show at least three Ideas that Did work, and one that didn't...)

First up on the Did work list.. Captain Planet and the Planeteers. This show Initially came out in early 1989 and in fact even then it dealt with saving the planet.. It wasn't until 1990 or 1991 that the show took on a new little twist.. Dealing with things like AIDS, and Gangs..(and yes they even took Linka and you didn't hear the Words "Soviet Union" in the opening but "Eastern Europe" and in fact these small minute Changes made the difference).

Another show that has had a Makeover (Recently) and works Quite well is of course Kim Possible.. In season 1 you had Kim and Ron wearing the same clothes over and over again.. (Kim with Green Pull over top and Blue Jeans, Ron with a Red Shirt and baggy pants..) but in season 2, a Simple makeover by the animoators gave kim and Ron both new wardrobes and in fact some of them are stylish (My fave is the Beige peasant Top and of course the Pink Pants and Matching Heart T-Shirs are an improvement, also the fact that Ron's Tops are no longer just red with White Striping but some blue butons ups that are quite fashionable..(and Bonnie Rockwaller even got a couple of Makeovers..) I say keep the clothes, and the writing.. cause this just keeps getting better and better..(Now if they could only give She-go a wardrobe...)

Another positive makeover was the just recent Astro Boy (Compared to the one of the 1960's sure it's the same robot, but now with the Tech, Astro Boy's gotten a Whole Lot better then from 40 years ago.

Now for a show where a Makeover was done, and failed Miserably, Two words..

Speed Racer.. (The 1999 Edition)

Frankly the idea was initially sound but still seeing a remade Mach Five, and Trixie and Chim Chim and Spridle Literally Modernized (Not To Mention Sparky and Pops and Speed's Mother, Really was a Disappointment.. They should have stuck to the original idea..but hey that's life..

Well, guess we just disagree then :) If I were to change something about Powerpuff Girls, I would say no more Fuzzy Lumpkins...

...did any of you catch the first 2 eps of the new season of All Grown Up!? Now, that's a serious makeover.
For that matter, if you've seen the Thornberrys eps in Alaska, did you notice Eliza's makeover?

Someone should fix the animation in X-Men:TAS. The characters were drawn in complicated comic-style, and because of this animation was too stiff. Maybe if the character design was simpler, like in Evolution, or CG made, they would look better.

I don't think this counts as a cartoon, but they really should redo Power Rangers. The new ones have been crap ever since the original rangers left. And I mean all of them have left.

I think Courage would be better served by darker stories. The art styling are all there, but the story writers have yet to catch up. Many episodes have a suitably creepy villain and atmosphere, only to have it ruined by some ridiculous silly plot development.

...What?! Dude, the new series is actually based off of the original comic book series, making it more faithful to the original source than the old show was.

Teen Titans - I've always thought the writers could try a little harder in terms of plot. I understand they want to make it accessible to kids and stuff, but I can't help but think most of the stories are overly simple. It'd also be nice to see them out of costume sometimes.

Sonic X - Needs to actually have some stories about SONIC.

I have had the following belief for about two years:

"Pokémon" has plummeted in popularity because the majority of its original 9-12 fanbase has grown up and decided that there are better shows out there. If 4Kids Entertainment was to stay a bit truer to the original Japanese version (not changing Japanese names, leaving original Japanese text in the background, not inserting their own cheap puns into the American script, hiring better voice actors, etc.), perhaps it would appeal to a slightly older audience.

An evil transvestite ballerina assasin with hairy legs! :D

I can see enough material for a revamp 10 years or so from now. Giovanni deliberately sends out 3 inept agents to represent the organization with the ultimate goal of his other agents being underestimated by authorities when they strike. That drawing kid doesn't come out of nowhere, but from the ninja gym with the venothings like he has.

Now that I mention those, Nick will be airing the only unaired TWT ep remaining, titled "Eliza Unplugged", Friday 6:30pm. It's the 5th of the 5 eps in Alaska (the other 4 first aired 16 months ago... weird), and it features Eliza with the new 'do she has in those eps.
