Since someone else is doing a thread on favorite regular bits from Conan O'Brien, I thought it would be appropriate to have a thread for favorite Saturday Night Live sketches.

My love for the show is kinda off and on. There are some episodes I like and some I don't like and others I think are okay. And along the way, I've found a lot of sketches that I personally loved.

Here they are:

The Blue Oyster Cult sketch from the Christopher Walken/Christina Aguilera episode

The Continental (from any and all Christopher Walken episodes, even though I only saw the ones from 1992, 2000, and 2001. I did hear about the first one from 1990, the one from 1996, and the 2003 one)

The Nick Cotrell skecth from the first time The Rock hosted

The fake commercials like Flex (the deodorant that turns its user into an animal--literally) and Homocil (pills that parents take when their children start acting gay)

This sketch from the Julia Stiles/Aerosmith episode: http://snltranscripts.jt.org/00/00oder.phtml (http://snltranscripts.jt.org/00/00oder.phtml)

I guess that's it for now.

That skit where Adam Sandler plays as guy who hosts a show where he talks abouts his ex-girlfriend.

I think one of the funniest things I saw was between Richard Pryor and Chevy Chase. Pryor was an applicant for a job and Chase was doing the interview which had some interesting word association. I would type the wonderful punchline for this, but I'd be banned.

"Cheese Burger, Cheese Burger" is one of the great sketches and the best example is when the owners of the greek resturant attempt to scam an insurcance company.

There was the awesome 'black' Exorsisit sketch.

The Consumer Probe skits were so very funny.

Then we have to just take in the wonderful political skits. From Chase as Ford to Will as Bush, they've been great. But I think the funniest political thing they had was when they had "Clinton's press confrence" after he wasn't booted out of office, here was the line that made me crack up...

Clinton walks up to stand
Clinton: I am... bulletproof. Next time ya'll better bring some kryptonite.

Then there was one sketch where they had a newscaster (forget which) recording all possible reports so he can go on vacation. Some of the situations included, "President Gerald Ford has died today." "President Gerald Ford has been eaten by wolves." "President Gerald Ford has died today, and I'm gay."

I'll post more later...

My faves:

-Every Celebrity Jeopardy sketch
-The Continental sketches
-Word Association, a sketch from the first season (I think) that had Chevy Chase playing this game with Richard Pryor with hilarious results
-Jingleheimer Junction, a sketch that had special guests on a kids show that had letters on their sweaters that could spell the f-bomb.
-Uncle Jemina's Pure Mash Liquor, a commercial parody that managed to make fun of Aunt Jemina, old black Southern stereotypes, and the old Disney film "Song of The South" in a short amount of time
-Tuna of The Dirt brand chicken, one from the Jessica Simpson/Nick Lachey episode that poked fun at Jessica's infamous comment in an incredibly funny and absurd way
-Bill Clinton at McDonald's, this is a great sketch that has a line that was amazing prophetic "There's a lot of things that we won't be telling Mrs. Clinton about"
-All The Hardball with Chris Matthews sketches, I can't watch the original show without laughing now

the Chistopher Walken "ChamPAGnia" one (is there more than one?)

The fake ad where Will Ferrel is changing a baby's diaper talking like he's advertising diapers, when the child's parents burst into the room yelling "who are you!?" Ferrel jumps out the window as the real point of the ad appears, home security.

Shirt-in-a-can ("DAMMIT!")

The recent Debbie Downer, it wans't so much funny on it's own, but the constant camera mistakes, flubbed lines, and laughing actors made this scetch spiral out of control into absolutely hysterical proportions.

"You like-a the soup" the sketch was so bad David Spade ended it right there.

Commedian Jeopardy "who are the marketing geniuses that came up with that one!?" with Jerry Seinfeld.

Commedian Jeopardy "who are the marketing geniuses that came up with that one!?" with Jerry Seinfeld.
Ah yes, I believe you're referring to "What's the Deal?", a hilarious take on Jerry Seinfeld's style of comedy.

"What is the deal with Grape Nuts? When you open the box, there's no grapes and no nuts. What's the deal?"

Good choice, Conekiller.

Another of my all time favorites- Mike Myers as that "hyper-hypo" kid. Watching him try to break free from the harness and his weird comments "Wow, you're surrounded by a lot of positive support.", it's hilarious from beginning to end.

Word Association- You haven't lived till you've seen this masterpiece.
Sprockets- Especially the Dieter's Dream one and Germany's Most Disturbing Home Video's
Theatre Stories- "For I was the biggest star in the world... *BANG-ZUP* In the world..."
Hardball
"Palm Beach"
Delicous Dish- The "Schweaty Popcorn Balls" one.

Another good one, is form back in the day (like original cast days)

it involved an irresponsible toy maker, he made viloent, dangerous toys and the reporter was appalled. My favorite toy of the sketch is the "invisible pedestrian" costume that was an all black jumpsuit.

and one involving "kids" in school reading poetry, but the poetry was really lyrics to rock songs. and the whole time the teacher is acting like he doens't know, but at the end of the sketch, another teacher comes in and complains that all he got was modern pop-y music, whereas the teacher for the sketch admitted that his students at least had better taste in older rock songs.

There are many a great sketch, but I can always fall back on the Wild and Crazy Guys (yeah, the one we all know, with the apartment and the enormous vacuum cleaner and all that is great).

Georg Festrunk: We cruised for them in our tight slacks which give us great bulges!

and of course...

Cliff: Man, you guys have been hosed, baby.

Georg Festrunk: Hosed?! Count me in!

C'mon now, what's greater than that?

The Norm MacDonald Weekend Updates. Kevin Nealon wasn't spectacular and anything before him was before my time. As much as I love Colin Quinn everything from him on blows. Jimmy Fallon is the worst cast member ever.

Celebrity Jeopardy.

The Rock on The Ladies' Man.

The Darrel Hammond Bill Clinton sketches. I don't remember who was doing Clinton before he came aboard (Phil Hartman maybe?) , but they weren't nearly as good.

Bah. It's mostly newer stuff. I have no clue when E! shows SNL and Comedy Central almost never played anything from before 1990. And I haven't been watching very much since Will Ferrel left.
