This weeks TV Guide (which comes with FOUR different harry potter covers) has a brief description of JL on page 36. Here is what it says:

Justice League(Cartoon Network, Mondays, 9:30 P.M./ET)

Premiering November 17 at a special time (7 P.M./ET), the year's best action cartoon takes us to superhero Valhalla (actually, the Leauge hangs out on a floating space station).

Onboard is a DC Comics all-star crew:Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, the Flash, Hawkgirl and Martian Manhunter (above). Only truly diabolical villians warrant the League--and this show's got em'. Besides intergalatic behemoths, there's Brainiac, Lex Luthor and a host of others. The weekly battles royal will appeal mightily to 8-to-14 year-olds (although given the shows hour, you may have to tape it for them).

Many of the characters teamed up in the '70s on the vastly inferior Hanna-Barbera cartoon Super Friends . This time they got it right.

It also shows a new picture (Very small though) of them all "flying". Rather cool pic..it's worth a peek while you're checking out at the grocery store...

I may have to peak through that when I hit the store today! I was wondering when TV Guide would do the article.

Heh, gotta love those mags saying that JL will "appeal mightily" 8-14 year-olds. I never liked anyone saying that a show will "appeal mightily" to any certain age group. I dunno, maybe it's just me (the 15-year-old who prefers cartoons to any other TV show).

Yeah, i read that too! That seemed like the only good kids' show they had listed in that section though...

Kid Flash I'm right there with you on the "15 year olds who prefer cartoons".
The only time I get a good grade on health movies is when the teacher plays little cartoons of them.

Oh man, Skriek, I know EXACTLY what you mean! We've been studying Ancient Egypt, and more recently Ancient Rome in history. There's this line of videos where the guy goes to the place, and also has little cartoons. Not surprisingly, I'm getting nothing but A's for the first time in history class.

First channels I check when I turn on the TV are CN and then Nickelodean. Also Disney on Saturdays ("Recess" is awesome). And then if nothing's on, I'll check the other channels. Sure, people think I'm weird for liking "SpongeBob Squarepants" (one of the most imaginative shows on TV) while they're all watching "MTV Diary" (gag), but I gotta be me (I DO have friends, btw).

I got a scan of the page up in the newspage. Here's the image:

Yeah - that whole "appeal to 8 - 14 year olds" just really burns me...

interesting...the US TV Guides must be different, as the article isn't exactly formed like that in the US one...still, it's word for word w/ the same pic..

Well the 8-14 year olds thing is kinda lame *but* one of the things I always liked about the TAS series was that it *didn't* exclude kids.

These characters should be just as much heroes to 8 year olds as they are to us. (besides where the hell do you think the next genreation of superhero fans is gonna come from).

I dont want to call TAS family entertainment because that termed as been warped into being something used to describe tripe like the Olsen Twins movies.

So I'll use the term "Universal Entertainment". Basically with TAS you have the thing that superhero fare *should* have. wether you are 8 or 80 you can enjoy this.

Its not mastabatory shock gore and violence, nor is it dumbed down tripe.

Everybody is invited to be in on the adventure, the drama, and the fun.

Well put, Mr. McGuiness. One thing they always forget when it comes time to write or film a "kids" story: Kids don't like being condescended to. Far too many movies and TV shows and books talk *down* to them. BTAS doesn't, and that is one reason adults and kids both can enjoy and appreciate it.

Also, the article makes the writer sound a little...well...not bright. It's obvious he hasn't put any research or thought into it. Granted, he mentions the old SUPERFRIENDS, but he doesn't mention B:TAS, S:TAS or even BATMAN BEYOND!

I didn't mean to say the show should exclude smaller kids. I'm thrilled that kids watch the show, I think it's awesome ('cause I remember doing the same thing). But to say in an article that the show will appeal mostly to 8- 14-year-olds isn't cool.

I think since it's a cartoon, that's where they assume it'll appeal to most. I think it'll appeal to more than the kids in that age bracket. The primte time slot alone shows that CN is aiming for more than the kiddies.
