Can't recall this being asked here, but what is your favorite version of a character, as in character design. With all the many different people who worked with the characters, each redesigning them periodically, there are probably dozens to choose from for all the major characters. Maybe be specific, note the director who used it, and the time period (or even single cartoon) it was used in. Also, personality has nothing to do with it, just asthetics (so if you like the way he looks, but hate the way he acts, then "vote" for it still).

I guess I'll go first:

There are two versions of Daffy that Jones used that I really like. They are fairly similar. The first is from about 1942-1947. I call it "Two Toed Daffy" because he has two toes, rather than three. I think he's very cute, as well as expressive. Then Jones seemed to use a little bit different version from about 1948 to 1950. The same beak, and still short, but a bit meatier. I also like the version of Daffy Freleng used from the mid 40s (1947? I don't recall) until the early 50s. He's got a nice shape to him. I particularly like how he looks in "Hollywood Daffy." There is also the Clampett Daffy used in his last few cartoons with the character. Then there is a version McKimson used in the early-mid 50s. Daffy has a bit of a thinker beak. And as an unlikely choice, I'd go with the "knobby knees (I call him that because he has noticeanle knee joints)" version McKimson used in cartoons like "Don't Axe me."

Coyote and Roadrunner: the versions used up until the closedown. Wile E. is particularly scraggly, and beat up looking. he was meatier later on.

I'll have to think more on Bugs, as well as a few others.

Bugs Bunny
Bob Clampett's version, and Chuck Jones's version from the 50s.

Daffy Duck
Frank Tashlin's version with the tube head and dangerously skinny waist. And Bob Clampett's version.

Elmer Fudd
I kinda like the fat version.

Egghead
The squinty-eyed version from 1938. His image in 37 and 39 was ugly.

BUDDY: The style of Earl Duvall and Friz Freleng is the best.

PORKY PIG: Avery, Clampett, Iwerks, and Tashlin's Porky cartoons of the late thirties were the best.

EGGHEAD: The 1937, Daffy Duck-like Egghead by Avery.

DAFFY DUCK: The early Clampett and Avery desings of the late thirties, and the Tashlin and Clampett versions of the 40s.

SNIFFLES: The earlier, cute version, not the fast talking version.

ELMER FUDD: Avery's version with the red nose.

BUGS BUNNY: The early Avery version, Clampett's version of the 40s.

DAFFY DUCK - Clampett and Avery's "zany" version from the late 30's. Runner-up goes to McKimson's more verbal but still zany version from the late 40's and early 50's.

BUGS BUNNY - Clampett's wacky, violent version. Runner-up again goes to McKimson's version from the late 40's and early 50's. I'm sorry, but I HATE the Chuck Jones Bugs design from the late 50's and early 60's. I can't bare to watch those cartoons.

ELMER FUDD - The fat Fudd from the few cartoons that design was used in. His overly fat design added to his goofy, dumb personality.

Daffy: Bob Clampett's version, and Chuck Jones' version from all the 1950's film genre parodies (like "Dripalong Daffy" and "Duck Dodgers")

Bugs: Friz Freleng for the 1940's, Chuck Jones' version from the 1950's, Robert McKimson's from the early 1950's

Sniffles: I actually like the fast-talking later version better.

Elmer Fudd: Fat Elmer, Chuck Jones' 1950's Elmer

Porky Pig: Bob Clampett's 1930's and Chuck Jones' 1950's versions

Speedy Gonzales: Friz Freleng's version in the classic era, Robert McKimson's for dePatie-Freleng.

Foghorn Leghorn: The early, jabbering 1950's version. He kind of got bland during the later years.

Yosemite Sam: The cowboy outlaw version

Tweety: Tweety was funniest by himself as Clampett's version, Sylvester is the funny element to the later Freleng films.
