Exploding belt?

In "Lost Soul", why does Batman's belt (which Terry is wearing), start to crackle and explode? Is there something special about that particular belt pouch?

Oh, I haven't introduced myself! My nick's SSNTails (I know it sounds weird.. long story), and I've been a fan of Batman ever since about the time Superman:TAS started airing. I collect cartoons digitally, recording them with my pro MJPEG board in 640x480 right off the DSS. I'm currently in the process of getting all the Batman Beyond episodes off Cartoon Network.

And the belt itself wasn't designed to explode... it was filled with electronics that got damaged in the battle, causing the explosion.

I think another factor in the belt explosion was the age of the equipment in there. Over 20 or so years, they probably got a bit defective...

Yeah, that's what I kind of thought too, although in "Knight Time", Robin tells Superman to use the "second pocket on the right", so I figured maybe someone here had memorized what's in every single pouch. :p Who knows, maybe he kept a bit of gunpower in there. :rolleyes:

I wouldn't be surprised if Bats kept a bit of explosives around for an emergency... Terry did in "Where's Terry," after all.

It has to be the age factor. Or it could even be the belt. Maybe the belt material also aged, causing anything within to be more easily destroyed or fractured.

Or maybe the writers just made it up, so Terry could use that electric pole without any gadgets ;)

i know why the belt exploded, basically its a security feature installed on the belt, its rather a genius way for a security measure for a utility belt. basically if a criminal opens the pockets without giving the right code the belt explodes. in terrys case when terrys batsuit hit the utility belt it must have set off a security device and exploded. go to this website, enter the website. go to the gotham city area on the right hand side. click on that. it will say everybody in the batman shows and comic books, click on the icon of bruce wayne, click the traits background, go all the way down until you see the area with the where the utility belt is written, click on that, it says about the security feature, robins and some of the other members who have a utility belt have this feature also. it could also be what else that has been mentioned in these replys. here is the website. http://www.braveandthebold.com/characters/traits/266.html.
