More Superman movie info....

Variety has confirmed our scoop from last week (http://www.cinescape.com/0/editorial.asp?aff_id=0&this_cat=Movies&action=page&type_id=&cat_id=270338&obj_id=41583) that ESC Entertainment will create the digital special effects for the new SUPERMAN film. The trade also confirmed Coming Soon's scoop (http://www.cinescape.com/0/editorial.asp?aff_id=0&this_cat=Movies&action=page&type_id=&cat_id=270338&obj_id=41589) that makeup mastro Stan Winston is indeed crafting the look of the new costume for the Man of Steel.


Variety says SUPERMAN is being eyed for a summer 2006 release. McG (CHARLIE'S ANGELS) is still attached as the director. The script is by J.J. Abrams (ALIAS).
And for god's sakes...Why is McG still involved?!?? :rolleyes:

I have no idea what's going on with this project. Seriously, folks, getting a Superman movie off the ground shouldn't be that hard.

And why is McG still involved? Didn't Shymalan want to do this? Why the hell didn't WB let him?

Also, why is J. J. Abrams still involved? I heard his script is terrible. Rewrites, big rewrites. Pardon the comparison, but WB finally got smart with Batman Begins, why not the same thing with Superman? Hopefully it will come out in summer 2006 and be a good film also. Shymalan would've been very cool as a director? Rubber Supes suit? Please WB.

Why not just let the people and cast from Smallville do it?
I agree I would love to see the cast of Smallville do a Superman movie, especially Tom Welling and Michael Rosenbaum as Superman and Lex Luthor to see their characters develop into the hero and villian they would become.
