I've had my PS2 since Christmas. It's my first system since a Sega Genesis. On my PS2 I've enjoyed games like Crash Bandicoot, sports games and some of the old games that came out on PS1 disks. I CAN'T STAND games like Rainbow Six and Ace Combat. I seriously almost fell asleep while playing Ace Combat 4 and when I was awake it was impossible to figure out. Games like R Six don't do it for me either. I don't care for games where you kill someone every 10 minutes.

I like games where there's tons of guns, fire, and moving. Contra, Double Dragon and Metroid were favs of mine growing up. The only games like those that I can find, to my knowledge, for PS2 are Contra and Ninja Turtles. Those games should keep me busy for an extremely long time. Games last with me longer than they do with most people. I'm still curious though. Are there any other games like these for PS2? Any new series' or titles I don't know about? They don't necessarily have to be restorations as long as they have the action :)

You might want to check out the following.

-R Type Final (classic side scrolling shooter)
-Devil May Cry (lots of moving and shooting!)
-Castlevania: Lament of Innosence (adventure goodness)
-Ratchet and Clank (again...lots of runing around, jumping, and shooting.)

Not to mention

Gradius III and IV- Pure old school arcade shooter godliness.

Thanks guys! Since we're here, how about that Area 51 for PS2? I found out that was out just yesterday. Not a sidescroller I bet but is it any good? I enjoyed the first one at the arcades.

I recently bought the PS2 combo pack that includes ATV Offroad Fury 2. At the bottom right corner of the box is a blue plus sign with a yellow background. What does this stand for?
