In the comics, he does, on the upcoming animated series, he won't...that's probably the only thing that I am unhappy about with this new upcoming show. He needs that heat vision of his...that's one of the things that made his character cool.

I know whatcha mean. But it makes sense that he doesn't. I mean, he has a weakness to fire. If he blasts the heat vision, wouldn't that make him weaker?

If Superman blasts his heat vision, eventually he'd get weaker anyway, from the strain of using it, so what difference should it make...there's no fire involved with light...only where his beam is focused on should burst into flames...at least I think. And even so, not everything that Superman blasts at bursts into flames.

I think it's okay. I can understand that they want MM to be just a little more different from Superman. They will probably be using more of MM's different powers like shapeshifting and telepathy. This is probably a good idea.

Yeah, his heat vision sort of contradicts his weakness of fire. I'm glad they scaled him down some becuase he was basically a Superman clone. The less powers the better for him. I'd like for them to be a bit more unique.

J'onn is a far cry from a Superman clone. Maybe not in terms of powers (although J'onn has never been as strong or as fast as Superman), but they are two extremely different characters. J'onn had a life on Mars, whereas Superman was shot across the universe as a baby. J'onn's more reluctant, even though everyone values his opinion over most people. Fellow heroes feel a lot of sympathy towards him, and even Batman defers to him (Batman cares very little about Superman's opinion). Anyway, I have a real problem with people calling J'onn a Superman clone.

Oh, and there's a reason it's called "heat vision." J'onn's blasts I know have always been more fire-like than light-like.
