I sold me two Spider-Man Animated Series DVDs today (Ultimate Villians Showdown and Return of the Green Goblin) because I did not like the quality, and the fact the episodes were barely in order. I've decided the only way I'll be willing to buy the 90's marvel series are if they release them in box sets. I am sick of having companies put out random episodes on DVD as if these are still the days of VHS where people didn't care for a full series. What is so hard about Marvel/Fox/Disney (whoever) releasing these series in season sets? I mean it is easy. Spider-Man can be done in Chapter sets, but also have the shorter chapter stuff together, while the X-Men series were usually between 13-20 episodes each season (although the final one had only 4). I would really love to own the 4 parter where Apocalypse captures the psychics, and the origin of Mr. Sinister (which I think only aired once) on DVD, but only if I could get the entire series in order.

Oh, and what about Silver Surfer? I loved that series and got really pissed that Fox cancelled it even though it left off on a cliffhanger.

It's Disney... they haven't really done "animated" season sets yet so it's still a new area for them. Once the Spider-Man '67 Collection and Gargoyles Season 1 get released and sales figures start coming in, Disney will hopefully start giving the treatment to other series. You just have to be patient.

As for Silver Surfer, there's nothing for Disney to tie it into to warrant a release. The series was short and had a small fan base... so a release out of the blue doesn't seem likely at all.

Then why would Disney be doing a Gargoyle Set? It doesn't have a movie coming out either, so why would it be any different for The Silver Surfer.

They could always try another 6 disc set including Spider-Man Unlimited, The Avengers and The Silver Surfer.

Because it has a HUGE fanbase (they have conventions) and this year is it's 10th anniversary. For Disney to release these animated series, they typically need 1 (of 2 reasons) to put out a DVD...

1. Huge Fan Base
2. Tie-in property (ongoing popular TV Series or live-action movie)

and the origin of Mr. Sinister (which I think only aired once)Actually it has aired at least twice, its original airing and the second time I saw it which was during the short lived re-airing of X-men:TAS on weekdays when the movie came out.

Gargoyles has a huge and loyal fanbase, moreso than some of the Marvel comics. I personally can't wait until those DVDs come out.

I would really like to see Marvel release the 1990's X-Men and Spider-Man series in a nice looking box set. 1990's Spider-Man would be a huge seller, I think, because it was such a hit just a few years ago. I still see merchandise from that cartoon in the odd department store.
