Did anyone else catch this? In Season 3 of FG, Stewie became less evil and more of just a wiseass. He still was a little hellraiser, just less of a Lois-killer, and more just there to make wiseass comments. I know Seth & co. said something along those lines on Season 3 DvD commentaries, but it didn't really bother me, it just was shows how FG is a show willing to evolve.

I noticed that too. It was a change for the better IMO. Seriously, they were running the murderous baby angle into the ground. Kudos to the creators for making Stewie lovable. If they hadn't my favorite Family Guy moment would never have happened: Stewie's VERY pointed, funny, merciless, and LONG verbal beat-down of Olivia when she made a lame Weakest Link joke. " Ha ha ha ha ha! Gosh, you're funny. You are the weakest link, GOODBYE! I've never heard that joke before. Do you write your own material? It's SO fresh. And that's exactly what she says on the show right? And here you've taken it out of context and used it to insult me in this everyday situation! God, what a smart, clever girl you are. Do you have any Titanic jokes you want to throw out there, as long as we're hitting these phenomena at the height of their popularity? Hmmm? God, you're SO funny!"

I also would like to point out "Rocketman", Stewie singing in a William Shatner-esque spoof, was just too funny. "And I think it's gonna be a long long time"...

I just noticed that they played off Stewie's sexuality confusion a whole lot more.

He was still quasi-evil in the season opener, trying to kill his sperm brother and whatnot.

I was glad they shifted away from the whole "I'm going to kill Lois" concept. He would've draged the show into the mud if that gag kept up and his true nature was never explored.

Just noticed this? It was obviously changed because clearly the writers aren't idiots and know the joke couldn't have lasted an episode longer.

I like the change except that they are doing the Bart Simpson thing and making him gay or girlish.

I liked the evil stewy, I like the sarcastic stewie, I just don't like the wuss stewie. In the DVDs they said thats where he was going, I just hope in season 4 they don't go all the way with that. I mean his first love was a girl and hes objectified women before. I'd like to see Stewie grow up to be a big time money bags player. You can go so much further with that than a gay baby.

I mean I'm sure I could beat the crap out of Hitler, becuase Hitler wasn't that tough or hard nosed. He was a charasmitic evil mastermind, and that is how he did the evil that he did. And frankly I never saw him as really gay but more of bi-curious, he is sort of reflective of the recent generation of new money and even old money who like a little spice in their life, specifically I'm thinking of Mr. Jagger and who he is caught naked in bed with.

But back to the actual question, yes I agree with the character being more dynamic. But I don't see it as a change, when the show began Stewie was a generic evil genius who wanted to kill his mother. He was the same person in season 3, they just added onto him to make him more interesting and less generic.

He's not really gay. He's bicurious really. Although that's really because the writers wanted him to be "gay" in later episode (in the "Mr Saturday Knight" commentary they mentioned that Stewie looking at female babies he would "do" is a strangley straight moment for him).

He fell in love with Janet in Season 2, (Dammit Janet)

If they maybe him completely gay in season 4 then they would just make him out like he was at the beginning of the show - one-dimensional. Now the more recent Stewie I like the best, he has more attributes to him than what you'd see in the beginning. He's clever and loves to cause trouble, and he still has the same anti-Lois agenda.

I never did notice that, wonder if he will be the same on the upcoming season?

Considering that one of the episodes will be about him realizing his sexual difference (I've personally always seen him as a bisexual with homosexual mannerisms), we'll find out soon enough.

The new season's gonna kick *****. I just hope FOX doesn't go and cancel it for the third time. I hope they keep Stewie the same.

When was the last time Stewie tried to kill Lois, BTW? I think it was in "Death is a *****" (the one were Death gets a broken foot and everyone can do anything without getting killed). Or was there another episode after that one?

That's the greatest gag ever.

It was in Season 3 (Early S3). In "Emission Impossible", He and his future brother dream of how they will kill her, It was a dream, but it still counts.

I couldn't even transcribe it without bursting into laughter. Family Guy season three was one of the funniest cartoons ever.

Yeah, which is why I'm upset, that a lo of Season 3's staff isn't returning. Even though Seasons 1 & 2 are classics and are hilarious, S3 was just....I don't know there was just something about it I like a lot.

He could become a self hating homophobic baby, collecting weapons, comitting crimes, getting involved in right wing politics and such to prove his maleness to the outside world.

What?! Man, that stinks. The season three staff were the best. I hope the earlier staff realize that Family Guy was moving in the right direction when it was cancelled.
