I hated Video Man. Not only did he look terrible but the character was such a blatant cash-in on the video game craze of the time. They should have stuck with original Spidey villains.

I hated Video Man. Not only did he look terrible but the character was such a blatant cash-in on the video game craze of the time. They should have stuck with original Spidey villains.I wasn't too fond of him either. I love this show so much that I have come to accept him (even like him) over the years but I certainly hated him when this episode first aired. As a kid I thought all of the "super" computer story lines in TV shows and movies were very stupid, TRON included.

Funny thing is, if you'll watch the episode "Education of a Super Hero", you'll think this one is high art. ;)

I used to watch this episode a lot. And it has got me thinking that if Video Man would have been created five years later for some of the Sunbow/Marvel shows, he would have been a great Transformers or Jem villain.
