I thought it was pretty puzzling that I couldn't find any advanced reviews for Shrek 2 on the Internet until today, it seemed kind of late to not see at least a few early reviews until just a few days before it opened. But I found a few at rottentomatoes, and thus far it seems that this sequel is not a disappointment. Granted, none of these early reviews are from "esteemed" critics, but these 4 reviews still gave the movie high grades anyway- and it appears that the early buzz of Puss n Boots stealing the movie seems to be true as well. You can read some of the early word on Shrek 2 at http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/Shrek2-1132597/reviews.php

I'm not surprised that Shrek 2 isn't quite as good as the original. The Eisner bashing was drove alot of the humor of the original film. They let him slide on this one.

the whole first movie was nothing but Eisner-bashing, doing a second movie of nothing but that would get kind of stale, besides we've got John Cleese in it and lord knows the fun you can have once you mix Medieval settings and former members of Monty Python's Flying circus

How was the first movie Eisner-bashing?

How was the first movie Eisner-bashing?Lord Farquad is a very thinly disguised parody of Eisner. Which is why Shrek is a lot funnier now than it was two years ago.

What lord dalek just said, plus Dreamworks seems to take great pride in making animated features Disney wouldn't have the guts to make; in others words, non-PC. ;)
