We have an art club and alot of times we watch anime there, we've watched Kenshin and Eva, but since I'm considering buying the BGC (that is the original OVA) boxset, I was thinking I might show it to them. But considering how they reacted when the saw EVA (ooohhh she's naked...rewind...rewind.) They got my poor teacher thinking I'm some kind of hentai freak (I do go to a Christian school so and 1+1= uncomfy situation.) So I'm just wondering might their reaction be similar to the original BGC.

You might want to show something else. It's been awhile but I do remember some brief nudity when the Sabers suit up. Then there's the blood along with the violence and Boomers.
Go buy the Robotech boxsets instead and so those. Go and buy them now. I command you to do it! :D

Slightly OT here, but was Robotech that good? I don't remember ever having seen it, but I have seen the boxsets (not too pricey if memory serves).
So, was the show really that good?

If you're only used to newer anime like Evangelion, Cowboy Bebop and 08th MS Team But Gundam, you may not like it. For the rest of us, though, Robotech has a special place in our hearts. It was different and bold for its time, and some themes still hold up. I guess if you liked Mobile Suit Gundam, you may still get into Robotech.
OTOH, Robotech is a fairly edited version of Macross, Mospeada and Southern Cross. For the price it comes in, I'd still recommend it. At least the Macross portion.

First time I saw robotech was the extremely cut american, original dubed version. I hated it beyond comprehension. But then I saw a newer, uncut, subtitled version...LOVED it.
It's classic...but it still doesn't hold a schtick up against many other anime....

i would suggest showing "record of lodoss war." it is a fantasy type of anime, and it is very good and nothing too risque except for blood. it is a very serious series of 13 episodes, not like "slayers" which is comedy. the dvd is very affordable. if you look around, you should be able to buy it for $40 to $60. that is a damn good price compared to the VHS version.

It may not be anime but bring in Looney Tunes! Seriously! In my opinion they are the true definitive of classic animation. I recomend a Bob Clampett, mostly Porky In Wackyland.

Said like a true Loony Toons fan. I would suggest the 08th MS team, I meen why not? The animation is pretty good, so is the story, just bring the first DVD, not the second one.
