Hey, this might just be a coincidnce... in The Last Laugh #4, a Jokerized villain called Black Mass is shot and killed. As he dies, he sputters, "Hey, that's not funny... That's not..."

Same last words as The Joker after he gets shot in the uncut ROTJ. Maybe this is writer Chuck Dixon's way of giving a nod to this bootleg cult classic. :D

I think it's coincidence because in Bloodsport when Terry is trying to ditch Stalker, he sticks a Joker in the gut. And when he falls the clown says, "That's Not Funny"

Yeah, also in Golem? A joker goes, "Hey, not funny man".

Yeah, but that quote that Russkafin put up from Last Laugh #4 is almost exactly what Joker's final words were. The only slight difference, I think, was that Joker never said "hey" before saying the words. It was just: "That's not funny...that's not..."
and then slumping over and dying.

I'd say that's a definite nod to ROTJ. The similarity is too close.

Also, though, in another episode (can't remember which) a jokerz, goes "not funny" and runs away. It just seems to be a common phrase uttered by jokerz.

Yeah, true. In the Last Laugh case, though, we're talking about a character that was shot and killed, as Joker was. Take those circumstance and add Joker's final words, and you've got pretty much the same scene as the Joker's death in ROTJ. It's the totality of the scene that seems to definitely point to a ROTJ reference.

Yeah, but if, it's a common phrase jokerz say, then all of them would say it.

It's a common phrase, but that extra "that's not..." gasp at the end seems a little too carefully planned to be a coincidence.

I don't have the issue, but I wouldn't be surprised. Both ROTJ and Last Laugh use "jokerization" strongly in the story. Maybe it is Dixon's way of acknowledging this similarity between the 2 stories. It could even be possible that ROTJ helped inspire Last Laugh, but that's just a guess.

It's probably just a coincidence, but a pretty cool one, I'll admit!
