This is another case of a difficult to choose
category, which is why I've done a poll on it.
We know that "Knights Must Fall" is fastest paced
and has more knight gags per minute than any others, but "Knight-Mare Hare" looks grander, with everything on a larger scale, and "Knighty Knight Bugs" is an Oscar winner with the inspired casting of Yosemite Sam as Black Knight and some hilarious Roundtable gags and the sneezing dragon. I enjoy them all about equally. Now, Connecticut Rabbit I've only seen a couple of times and barely remember.

I have always liked "Knighty Knight Bugs" the best. There is a scene in there that makes me laugh every time ("Open up that door!" *SLAM!* "Close it! Close it! Close it up again!"). Freleng had used it before in "Sahara Hare". I also like "Knights Must Fall" ("Look, a new Dick Tracy character! Accordion Head!").
I recently found a used copy of the BUGS BUNNY IN KING ARTHUR'S COURT video. I had never seen it before, and really didn't care for it. I found it rather boring (not as dull as Jones' other TV special from this period, CARNIVAL OF THE ANIMALS, though...). All the characters seemed to do was talk. I don't recall a single funny bit.

I like "Knighty Knight Bugs" the best. "Knights Must Fall" is pretty good too. "Knight Mare Hare" bores me every time I see it...it's an okay cartoon but it doesn't have a lot of gags or anything. I've seen "Bugs In King Arthur's Court" only once, I remember very little about it, so it probably sucks.

I found it hard to decide between "Knights Must Fall" and "Knighty Knight Bugs." Both are fairly strong Freleng cartoons (though, I think Freleng had more hits than misses in general). I chose "Knights Must Fall," mostly because it's still fresh in my mind (I remember seeing that cartoon almost all the time when I was very little, compared to the few times I've seen "Knighty Knight Bugs.") Everytime I watch it, I find more to enjoy and admire about it, the pacing and gags are great. Not that I think it's infinately better that "Knighty Knight Bugs," it could have gone either way. The dragon in that one really is a hoot.
I found "Knight-Mare Hare" rather dull. It has very nice Nordli backgrounds to it, but that's it, it just sort of lingers on, not really doing anything.
I've never seen "Bugs In King Arthur's Court," but I've heard only negative things about, and sort of want to see "Carnival of The Animals" more (I really like that piece of music, so it can't be THAT bad, can it?)

KNIGHTS MUST FALL. That's a hilarious cartoon.

Sir Friz made the best 'toons in this group, with "Knights Must Fall" atop the honor roll. Jones had a hit with "Knight-Mare Hare" but a miss with "A Connecticut Rabbit in King Arthur's Court" (although the art and animation are good enough to make it watchable).
