When the B&W Looney Tunes were redrawn in color in the late 1960s, did any or all of the Warner Bros. cartoon directors who did the original LTs comment on them? If so, what was said? I doubt it was anything positive! ;)

Chuck Jones: "It stinks!"
Actually, I'm just kidding, but I bet that's what the directors thought.

Someone asked Bob Clampett about why some of his 1930's color Porky cartoons had lens reflections in the cels.
He stated that he doesn't remember having lens reflections in any of his cartoons.
That's the rest of the quote I found in an old post...I surmise he also stated that he didn't make a color cartoon until 1941. :)

We can hypothesize how they felt (IFFFFF they were consciously aware of it even). By all normal criteria they (especially Clampett) should have been appalled at the giant "holds" that were created, and overall lack of care given. HOWEVER in at least one instance Bob Clampett actually consented to AUTOGRAPH a redrawn cel of the Lone Stranger and Porky!!!! This piece turned up for auction on Ebay last year...
Sooooo Clampett MAY well have viewed the redrawns as something not wholly vile... At least his early work was available for common public viewing (albeit in inferior form).
