In an issue of JLA (or JLI, not sure), the Martian Manhunter, G'nort, Red Rocket and Barda were flying a small space ship and Lobo forcibly boarded it (he had been tricked into believing the two heroes had killed one of his beloved space dolphins). On board the ship, the two heros have no idea of who has attacked the spacehip, and Barda is about to go back and repel the invader(s). Then Jonn does a telepathic scan, and realizes who it is that has attacked them. Well, let me say that I will never forget the expression of fear that came over the Manhunter. He grabbed Barda to stop her, and said that she should NOT go back there, and the two of them should just flee. When Barda asked who was there, Jonn replied with a fearful "LOBO". Then Jonn went on to say that NOTHING either one of them could do would stop Lobo, and that if he had indeed taken a contract on either of them, or both, then they were in fact already dead. Now, that is the Lobo I will always remember. The silent, brooding, kill without a glance back badass.

I would like to know what issue that is because I have The JL's first incounter with Lobo which took place in a issue of JLI and they were on a ship and it just happened to be with J'onn ,Barda ,Rocket Red and G'nort and the story doesnt turn out like anything you just said. Barda was the only one who knew anything about Lobo and the only thing she told J'onn while they were fighting was not to hit him too hard because every drop would create a new one of him and J'onn's responce was a surprised "every drop?". Barda then solved the Lobo problem by "boom tubeing" him away. I'm just curious in which issue the story you are refeering to takes place?

Lobo, but only because he started as a parody of all the blood-blood killy death characters that were such trend honeys at the time, and all the darkbaby comic fans took it seriously as their beacon of black hope to be the guy they could point to and say "Ha, he could beat up Superman because he killz and thats so kewl!"

Um, isn't this a comic-book discussion? In the DCAU Supes shows him up, but there isn't much to go by.

I'd say Lobo as well in the DCAU. In the Main Man he was Supes physical superrior.

No offense but I've seen Superman take out both Lobo and Valor (who is a Daxamite with Supermna level power) at the same time by simply getting tired of playing around with them and smashing their heads together.
As far as animation goes I dont think Lobo has really shown anything to where he is his superior but I know Lobo's strength and toughness is up there. For the most part they appeared to be fairly even but then again Superman tends to hold back anyway.

If you know a full force blow is at best only likely to stun an opponent and at worst piss him off, anybody, including Supes is likely to go all out. Lar Gand had jsut about beat Superman into unconciousnes when Lobo came diving into the fight. All supes did was slam their heads together because they were sofixated on themselves. Lobo has beat up on Lar Gand before as well in L.I.E.G.O.N and Daxamites are stronger than Kryptonians.
In the Justice League short stories based of the cartoon Lobo is paid to retrieve Superman for Mongul and he fights the entire League, including Supes to a standstill.
In the latest Lobo Unbound mini series Lobo with Giffen writing and at D.C.'s request was retuned to his roots as the baddest bad#$$ is the cosmos instead of a lunkhead comic relief character.

That's easy: if it's a Superman title, Superman wins. If it's a Lobo title, however, the Main Man wins. If it's the animated series, Superman wins, because Lobo can't be nearly as bloody in this version as he is in comics.

Suits? Is that something new that they're calling him these days? I've never heard Superman reffered to as Suits before. I've heard Supes, Supey, Supe, Blue Boy, and many other things, but never Suits.
Anyway, Superman is definitly stronger.

Don't get me wrong, I love Supes... but I'm all about the Main Man, fraggit.

I can't remember the issue. The only ones I still own was the breakdowns story arc with despero in Justice League America and Justice League Europe. Despero was trashing the Justice League and Lobo was single handedly going to toe with him while he wasn't trashing Guy Gardner and some of the other Leaguers. Despero is about one of the toughest threats the league has ever faced and Lobo gladly took the repo job ot bring him back and had no compunction with mixit it up with him.

this is just the fanboy in me talking but I would've loved to see the main man throw down with Doomsday, the comic version of course, and just for the hell of it have doomsday win but have Lobo come back anyway because A: he can't die and B: seeing the main man in a "reign of the supermen parody" would be fraggin' hilarious
