ZOIDS! I know I've posted about this before..but now I've watched the show for a week, so I kinda know what I'm talking about now. The stories are abit episodic, but there is still a continuing story line. anyway..

AND this is NOT just another monster/robot show. It's more like Gundam, crossed with Medabots(just the challenging battles part..), and with the animation styles of Tenchi crossed with..Cowboy Bebop!

Thats another thing I like about it..the animation. It all fits together nicely. The CGI used on the Zoids is the same used in games like "Jet Set Radio", which are ment to look like cartoons anyway. So, they run well against the animated character(Unlike Blue Sub 6, where the CGI was to real to fit with the characters..). And the actual character animation is good quality as well. Some character designs could use work(ahem..harry..)..but overall, it looks good.

Basically, I'd describe it as one of those crappy Monster/robot shows..if..mmm..IF IT WAS GOOD! hahaha. It's more teen oriented. And there's only one kid..but he's just sort of there.

Anyway. that's my word on it. ZOIDS...it's good..but I doubt ANYONE is watching..hehehe!

I think Zoids is okay, not as bad as it could have been actually. But I worry if it'll fall into the same cliche cycle, it could be real good though if they let it develop.

As for me, I think that show might be Cowboy Bebop on the Adult Swim, the show seems to be very well written, and the charecters thought out pretty well.

What an oddly titled thread...the discussions here seemed to be about the best new shows that WE ARE watching...

I wouldn't say Zoids is teen oriented. Preteen, maybe. It didn't seem impressive to me when I watched it several months ago, though. I couldn't buy the machines as real equipment. With Gundam, I could, because they seemed like relatively plausible tools of war. Zoids are like those old Voltron figures...

Anyway, the setup is pure genericism (is that a word?). Boy activates superpower mecha, wackyness ensues...(Cubix, Xyber 9 and such all subscribe to this format...)

Amuro Ray could get away with that because he's one of the pioneers of the mecha genre, but this is 2001. MSG was 20 years ago. Let's try some new setup.

the one I "ain't watching" is Smallville..no frickin' interest in it what-so-ever. Never even heard of Zoids...

Only show I watch is whatever is on CN and Enterprise..

--Enterprise...Reba...and Undeclared. Sort of a "I hear things, and I mean to catch them, but there's other stuff on too, you know" thing....

Enterprise and Alias are all I watch. I'm not sure how much longer I'll be watching Enterprise, though, since they're really not doing anything all that original or groundbreaking. The show I thought was unbelievable last year was CSI, but I haven't had the time to watch it at all this season.

Anybody know how Alias is doing in the ratings? This is possibly the best new show that nobody's watching. Of course, being on ABC, it's probably getting a lot of attention and most likely is being watched by many. I don't know though. Haven't seen anybody else mention it on these boards besides me.

To answer the topic, anything on ADULT SWIM. They look very nice and well planned, but even if I had CN I wonder if I'd really sit down and use a couple of hours watching every show.

...Also, for Nick, THE FAIRLY ODDPARENTS. Only because Nick almost never shows it anymore... At least Spongebob can be caught ocasionally! :)

Everyone says Undeclared is pretty good, but I can't really get into it. I watch a few minutes get bored, and change the channel. I think it's mainly because the main character, well, looks like he's my age! What's he doing in college? ;) I've been brainwashed by coming-of-age shows and I'm used to people in college played by 20-something y/os. Sigh me :(

Scrubs, The Practice, Frasier...a lot of these shows get pretty good reviews, but I find that we are in a rather stagnant period of TV now. Nothing original--shows about single moms, shows about emergency rooms, shows about lawyers...YAWN. I need something fresh and quirky! I'm more excited by sports, old movies and animation than I am with prime time TV shows. I haven't been able to catch the new Sopranos episodes on CTV.

That's a VERY clever topic. Nice job there. :) I'm sure we all have these problems.

With me it's Undeclared, Smallville, and Samurai Jack but let me explain. I LOVE and am DEVOTED to Samurai Jack, but I've missed an episode or two recently, because I got caught up in my favorite show, ANGEL, and ended up really mad at myself.

I really like Smallville, but when I miss parts I find I don't really mind. I've never felt that way about a show I liked, so I must say it's VERY unprecedented and VERY weird.

The ebst new show I'm not watching? Hmmm...Enterprise. I'm not a Star Trek fan at all and have been avoiding this show like the plague.

Well, since I don't have WB or UPN, it could be said that I'm missing Angel, Smallville, and Buffy. However, I'm getting them taped (:))

Let's see, I watch Undeclared and Scrubs (both are hilarious, Scrubs moreso than UD) And LLJ, looking for a quirky? Trust me, even though Scrubs is in a hospital (not an ER, btw) it's very quirky. Check it out sometime.

I've heard a few good things about Alias, but I refuse to watch it. It came out too close to the comic of the same name, and I can't put that prejudice aside.

I didn't get to really watch Six Feet Under either. I loved what I saw, but never watched it. I guess I'll just wait for the DVD.

You name it, I miss it! For someone who loves sci-fi and animation, I see an awful small amount of TV... I've seen none of the shows mentioned here - hell, I haven't even seen the New Batman Adventures or more than six Batman Beyond episodes...

Pity me, for I am a cultural vacuum...

I know the best show that al lof America isn't watching is Mission Hill, which was canned from TheWB after 3 or 4 episodes. It's now on Teletoon.
